Poor customer service
Went to Jandakot spotlight store yesterday with my daughter to buy material. Stood in line at service desk and pointed to guy where my daughter was waiting and requested the material off role. The guy was quite rude and told me that I should bring the role over to the counter. I explained to him that it was quite heavy and did not wanted to injure myself in store. He went over to get the role and acknowledges how heavy it was. When he was done I pointed him to my daughter who was also waiting at the roles of material for her turn to be served....Read more
He was very rude and told my daughter who is six months pregnant that she should carry the role over herself. He told her he will let it slide this time but next time she comes in the shop policy is that customers must carry the roles over to counter themselves. She explained to him that she is six month pregnant and was not allowed to carry anything heavy. He gave a very lame apology. I was so upset I just walked away before I was going to say something I was going to regret later. His customer service was extremely poor and his attitude was disgusting.Similar opinion? Inaccurate Catalogues
For the fifth time in the last couple of years we have travelled to one of your retail stores to buy something that is listed in a catalogue. Each time the item shown in the catalogue was not available and in fact had never been carried. Example: Catalogue dated 20/11/19-8/12/19 Thermal Curtain Fabrics at $6/Mtr show 11 patterns of which only three or four were patterns stocked. Checked on-line - same result.

Their fabric range has really improved
I use to buy my fabric online but now I don't need to because the fabric range at Spotlight has really improved.
Some stores also stock Liquitex products which are high quality.

Koo 600 sheets
These sheets are extremely poor quality - not only did the shrink after 1 wash, the seams have split as well. Whilst they are comfortable to sleep in - they are not worth purchasing.

Made to Measure Blinds
Ordered, meant to be white picked them up, they asked to check and I said ah no they will be right. That afternoon I went to install them and they are CLEARLY not WHITE but GREY.
Someone is obviously colour blind - or need spec savers! Very disappointing and they also tell me that I have to wait a week for someone to come around and pick them up and then another 2 weeks for them to be remade - seriously this sucks.

Worst service possible
Ordered curtains and venetians off made to measure. Order was meant to take 4-6 weeks. After 8 weeks still no advice from them when it will be arriving. Told that the order was still processing. After a further four weeks still no advice and now been told out order is still 3-4 weeks away
Nearly 4 months
After sitting on hold with the 1300 number for over 30 minutes each time
The service just isnt worth it. I recommend go to another supplier spot light are only good for cheap fabric in the shop..

Had a really positive experience when the consultant came to my house. She left and called me to confirm what colour I had ordered. Turns out she ordered the wrong color. I told her, she came over to my house to check. She said the ones she ordered looked better than what I had picked. I said they weren't the color I ordered. She told me to write her a hard ass email showing I was upset and she would sort it out, I did and she wrote back 3 days later and said she still thinks the wrong color she ordered looks better, the sample of what...Read more
I ordered is different to the actual curtains when they arrive. And that what I had signed for the order is what I got and that's that. She knows she made a mistake and says one thing to your face and another via email. Not happy Jan! Not happy! I spend a lot of money at spotlight, I bought all my blinds and bedding there to furnish my new house and this is how I'm treated. They got it wrong, take ownership and hold yourself accountable and don't lie to me saying your going to fix it them don't. Definitely going to write that hard ass email now and give them a piece of my mind. I'm also very disappointed in the customer service at north lakes spotlight. I spent 30 mins struggling to find someone to help me with 6 boxes of blinds. I have even had their servers see me approaching the desk and they walk away. December 31st 2022 Update: Further unaccountable nonsense terrible service My refund request was rejected even though they admitted they got it wrong and ordered the wrong fabric. Just because they think the colour they ordered looks better than what I chose. The senior manager Nigel at the customer contact centre has avoided my phone calls for weeks and I have been trying to contact them for over 2 months now. Nicola the consultant called me after the consult and had to check if she got the right colour, she knows she got it wrong. Ridiculous! I Bought 4 metres of transparent plastic sheet. As this girl over the counter who was serving me, started folding it I requested if she could roll it over a cardboard roll, as it would be easy for me to store that way.
She slammed the sheet onto the table very aggressively and gave me the biggest role when she could have even gone for the smaller one. There were lots of empty rolls at the back. Anyways that is not the problem, problem is her awful attitude!

Ordered new blinds from Spotlight Rockingham WA for whole house costing over $2000. There sales rep measured most of the blinds & pulleys wrong so when fitted chains were different lengths on same size windows (installer quite happily drilled holes into walls for different length chains) & some of the blinds could not be installed as they were the wrong size. Numerous complaints to the sales rep were a waste of time as eventually she would not take my calls or answer my txt messages. s. Now i just have to fill in the holes, rub down & re paint the walls from where the installer fitted the different length chains. As Spotlight take full payment before installation they have you so they could not give a toss about you. If you are thinking of ordering blinds from Spotlight Rockingham my advice would be for gods sake do not do it. Its just not worth the aggravation. Staff require updating of customer service skills
My 81 yr old mother asked cutting staff where a certain product was located to be told 'there' as the staffer waved her hand to the vast number of shelves and rows in front of her. When she enquired again after looking she was once again greeted with the same response - this time with even more attitude. FINALLY someone showed her exactly where and when she got home it was wrong. I wonder if they talk to their mother or granny the way they spoke to mine - rude and unhelpful. Mr Gravatt store.

Hell on earth
I have had to go to spotlight Innaloo twice this week (the first time to try and buy a few things, the second time to return something as it was faulty). Both times nearly leaving in tears from frustration. The place is huge and there is zero customer service. I had to wait in queues for 10-15 minutes just to try and get some advice. Despite having a crying toddler, I was just pointed in a vague direction of where to go, rather than getting any true help. It was so disappointing and frustrating, both times I just gave up in the end.
I will never be going back and will do all of my fabric/craft shopping online, as you actually get way better service!!

Very poor customer service at spotlight Butler
We had ordered helium balloons in advance for a special birthday. When we went to collect, the lady serving us was not very happy - the height of the balloons were different and I mentioned n she was not happy - without saying anything to me, she got a colleague to come and look at the height when she redid it messily - leaving the cut ribbons attached to the weight. Would not want to go back to the store with such service and attitude.

A horrible attitude at Ashmore store.
I went to Spotlight Ashmore store. Their customer service is terrible. I asked staff for ribbons with samples. One of staff ( a bald with glasses ) answered ' Maybe that row or maybe not. I forgot' I am not your coworker man. I am a CUSTOMER!! Thank you for your useless information and a horrible attitude. The Ashmore store especially the man who was looking after a party section is seriously horrible. It was disgusting customer service I have ever experienced.

We ordered Plantation Shutters and Blinds for our home in Perth, WA and the entire process was an absolute debacle.
From the initial quote to the order being completed 5 months later we have never come across a more incompetent and apathetic company to deal with.
The consultant doing the initial quote missed multiple appointments and it was a struggle to even obtain the quote after days of waiting for it.

Do Not Order Curtains from Spotlight!
Ordered Made to Measure Curtains in August,
They took 6 weeks to make & then another week to book install. Curtains arrived wrong size & had to be re-ordered. Custom made track came wrong size & is on re-order. Still waiting for new curtains??
This was $4500.00 worth of Curtains & basically a horrible experience!
Would NOT recommend SPOTLIGHT ever.

Price watch
Half the store has no price tickets so you have to ask. If a product is the same but brought into store at later date the price is different although the signs says ALL at 40%discount. Check your receipts ladies you might be surprised while in store people found discount hadnt been applied...oops

Management Overall Needed Drastically
2 years ago I purchased blinds and shutters from the Rutherford shop. The service was beyond disgusting never responded to emails, went to the managers several times, took in the end 9 months for the shutters to arrive and 11 mths for roller blinds - What a Joke!
Recently I was told they did an overhaul on their made to measure and got a new consultant - let me tell you she is obviously no better (maybe they need a new recruitment officer). I have waited over a month and 2 emails later to not even get a response to a request for a quote on an entire house. This division should be shut down or reported.

Disappointing.....
My recent visits to the Dubbo store have been very disappointing. The staff Ive dealt with have been very helpful but there are just not enough on the floor. In fact on one occasion there were no staff in haberdashery. Customers were frustrated. I did manage to find someone from another section to help me find certain recently advertised items but was unable to get them all. the fabrics section was run off her feet with many customers lined up and she was having to answer the phone calls and be receptionist as well. Customers need assistance in these specialty areas - you need to employ staff - and ensure they have good communication skills. Yesterday I tried to ring several Sydney stores regarding sheer curtains I was looking for, no one was helpful at all and could not be bothered looking then I was switched for one staff to another having to repeat myself several times, after 3 hours I gave up.this is so disappointing as I loved these curtains. Today I called Birkenhead Point store and spoke to Jody and told her what had happened and she was determined to find these curtains, she was so helpful and really went out of her way to ring around for me. Thankyou Jody I wish there were more helpful staff like you in all the spotlight stores, its such a shame
