So-so machine
This product has it's good and bad points...
Very erratic in the amount of milk that it dispensed. I always have to top the cup/mug up with varying amounts of milk.
The product is nowhere near hot enough, so I zap the cup/mug about 15-25 secs in the microwave to bring it up to expectations.
Otherwise it does make a very enjoyable drink.
Underneath in the centre of the filter cup there is a small Phillips-head screw. Keep checking to make sure that this is tight. At about 6 months I lost the black plastic liner out of the inside of the fi...Read more
lter cup. It apparently fell out when I was tapping the used grinds into the kitchen rubbish bin and went out with the rubbish, never to be seen again. I didn't realise why the coffee wasn't coming out in the usual way until I trod on a very small screw on the kitchen floor about a week later. Lucky it didn't fall into my brew, it would have gone down my internals with the coffee. Sunbeam Customer Service didn't seem very interested in doing anything about it under Warranty, and told me to get a new part from a local Service Agent. Useless, the nearest is about 200km away, so not very impressive. Don't think I will be looking favourably at Sunbeam products next time I am looking for an appliance. PS 15/092018 ... As good as 12 months old, and now will not dispense milk at all. Sunbeam Service Agents are so few that it is impractical to claim under Warranty. Garbage collection tomorrow and it will be in the Wheelie Bin.

Coffee at home
I love it!
It's easy to use, doesn't burn the coffee or milk and all from my own home.
I decide to try and live a more environmentally friendly life in 2018.
1. No more take away coffee cups!
To help me out I decide that getting an espresso maker for home would stop my morning stop at McDonald's drive through on the way to work. (Yes they are happy to fill my keep cup but why waist the petrol or $5 a day)
The machine saves me big dollars and the hardest decision now is that coffee beans to buy.
It's quick to clean and I love that I don't need to froth the milk myself as it gives me time to cook breakfast.

Good coffee on a budget
I grabbed one of these on the Christmas sales, i've never had a coffee machine before and i was so happy with the very first cup that i made from it, it's going to save me a bit of money in the long run. Probably the only gripe is that the milk attachment splatters a bit. it's easy enough to wipe, it's just a bit annoying. i also like the temp of the coffee, some machines are a bit too cool for my liking but i get a nice hot (but not too hot) cup from it.

Tried it out with a hopefully heart but ended up returning it due to rust.
I read all the reviews, and despite all the negatives listed decided to go ahead and purchase, as it was on sale and not expensive. And it showed. It felt cheap, plastic parts and not well made. It did take some practice to get nice coffees, but did ok once I worked that out. However, it was noisy. No conversation around the breakfast table while my coffee brewed. However, I persevered because I had bought it and well, one must live with their mistakes.
And then, one day while cleaning, after about 2 weeks of purchase, I realised that ...Read more
the metal cup piece that the coffee grinds go into had started to corrode. So, as this falls into the category of being faulty, I very quickly packed it up and took it back for a refund, cause who needs rust in their coffee? Would not purchase again. Would not recommend. Turns out that all the negatives I had read, except the temperature of coffee (as I said, had some quirks I just had to work out) were true.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great and quick coffee!
I'm on the path to reducing my spending each month and this coffee machine is the perfect tool! Whilst initially spending a bit, it's certainly reducing my weekly spend as i'm not buying coffee everyday! It's quick, simple to use, easy to clean and the best bit? It makes great coffee! There was a little bit of trial and error in finding the right grind, but now i've got that down pat I can make my own cafe quality coffee in a matter of minutes, and for a fraction of the cost!

A great little pick me up in the morning
Very compact and easy to set up.
Very easy to use, clean and store.
Good size milk container (will make about 6 large size coffees)
Only thing is I Wish there were more options of coffee to make. It only makes lattes and cappuccinos however you can manually set the coffee and milk.

Saw this, was impressed and as it’s 40% off I bought one.
I saw this machine in the local store a couple of months ago. I was getting more concerned with buying non recyclable capsules and saw that this machine offered the chance to use ground coffee, not pods, but still had an automatic milk frother. At the time it was $199 on special from $299. I was very tempted but had several boxes of pods to use up. I was delighted to find the machine on sale at Myers for $174, just as the pods ran out. Now having set it up and used it, I am very impressed at how simple it is. The latte is excellent and hot and...Read more
it’s easy to get a decent cupfull. Theres a huge selection of ground coffees available, not to mention beans that I have a grinder for, but this is in the future. Cleaning the milk nozzle for milk storage is noisy but acceptable. It holds plenty of water and a good quantity of milk. And I can now save the coffegrounds for the garden and theres no need to worry about theenvironmental impact of the coffeepods as I used to. An all round great product especially as it is so cheap compared to its competitors.1 comment

Better than expected
I’ve only had this machine for a week and compared to my pod machine it’s gone way beyond expectations for the price. The removable milk container is fabulous and so easy to clean. I had to try a few different Coffee beans to get the flavour I like and getting the grind right was trial and error. I was worried at first about the coffee holder being too hard to insert but again after a few times became as easy as inserting a pod. I love this machine and for the price, $180 I love it as a first machine.

Great value
For $200 this coffee machine is great for people looking for an easy-to-use manual machine, or are just starting out their "coffee journey". I personally don't think this machine is for people who are very picky with their coffee as it's not a completely manual machine.
As far as cost, this is an excellent option. Our family used to spend around $60 a week on pods for our old machine that was worth about $600 and it never made "great" coffee. We purchased this machine along with $25 worth of ground coffee about 2 weeks ago and we haven't eve...Read more

Excellent coffee - hot with great flavour
We took a bit of a gamble on this purchase as we were willing to spend up to $1500 on a fully automatic machine. Instead we got this for $180 from Myer and we couldn't be happier. Yes it's a little more involved than a fully automatic - namely putting in your own ground coffee - but that's a small price to pay for a $1300 saving and for a system with far fewer moving parts (that could break). The machine makes excellent coffee every time and it's nice and hot too - how I like it. Easy to use, easy to clean this is a highly recommended machine!

Love it!
Purchased on sale for $190. For this price I am REALLY happy with the machine. I have had it for about a month and it makes about 6 coffees a day for our household - no issues yet. I read some reviews before purchase about coffees not being warm enough - and if you just use the preset options then that was somewhat true I guess. But I have since used the manual option for frothing the milk and its really hot - perfect! Coffee tastes great although I'm certainly no coffee snob so I don't really have much to compare it to. Easy to clean.
It surprisingly had quite a few negative reviews which made me hesitant to get it but when it went on sale for $190 I thought I'd take a chance on it and I'm very glad I did.

happy for the price
I was told not to buy sunbeam from a friend because it would not do the job property but i disagree. Its easy to use and the coffee tastes great. I got a 5 year extended warranty for an extra $20 so its a win win if it breaks down.

Good present for a coffee lover
Bought this machine as a present, and my wife still loves it. Our friends were looking for a replacement for their capsule machine that failed. After they have seen it in action, they decided to buy this model and pretty happy with the choice. Very easy in use, not complicated in cleaning.

Works well for about 6 months
Works well for about 6 months and then fails. Makes good coffee. Easy to use. However, we're on to our 3rd unit. There doesn't seem to be much difference between latte or cappuccino but for a machine I paid $233 for I don't really care. We use exclusively soy milk and it does a good job of that. Unfortunately, its froth making ability falls away after 6 months. Harvey Norman replaced our first one after 6 months, gave us money back on the second one (after 6 months just before the warranty expired) because they didn't have any more in stock and then we bought our third one from a different Harvey Norman store with the refund.

Good basic machine!
Coffee tastes great and it's super easy to use!
However, there are a couple of downfalls to this machine... it's a bit tedious to clean (in particular the milk dispenser since if you don't clean it, the milk can get stuck and turn) and you don't really have control over the type/amount of froth that comes out. The dial for the froth setting doesn't seem to make much difference in terms of how frothy the milk is. While the settings for a small & large cup seem to produce inconsistent amounts from day to day.

Not too bad
It's a very simple machine and definitely good for beginners, but I feel it's not the best coffee machine if you are a coffee lover. But don't get me wrong it all depends on what coffee bean you get too, but after trying a few I feel like I have to use the manual option over the presets presented by sunbeam

Good Machine, Can be Better
Bought this machine recently from Myer for $160.
It goes by the name of Mr.Coffee Barista Cafe in US & Here Sunbeam rebrands it to their name. It is a decent machine. Do not compare it to $400-$1000 machines. I did not want to buy the machine with pods as i dont like the taste plus running cost is 4 times of the coffee beans that i use.
Pros:
-Not expensive
-Easy to use
-Quick coffee buttons (espresso-capp-latte-custom...etc)
Cons:
-Coffee could be a bit more hotter
-Froth control does not respond as it should

We have recently purchased the coffee machine, however it froths the milk too much, to the point where half the mug is just froth. We have it on the lowest froth setting but it doesn’t seem to change anything. Is there something we can do to minimise the froth a little more so that there’s more milk?

Just wondering with this machine I understand it has an extendable bit to take larger cups and mugs, does this extendable bit only go in one direction ? for instance I have a mug that's fairly wide so I would need this bit to extend not just forward but sideways as well, is that possible with this machine ?

As I ordered my coffee already ground, can this be used in this machine? or does it have to have beans?
1 answer
You can use beans but you have to grind them first and put them in to be tamped down just like in the cafes, if you look closely enough you can see the black handle of the bit that holds the ground coffee.

Update after 2 months- still great coffee, consistantly, but my wife tells me she thinks that the noise from cleaning the milk delivery tube is annoying for her. I don’t mind it though.
