OK
I bought this because Choice recommended it as a best buy. Little disappointed with that recommendation. It's reasonable enough but the cons I have listed do annoy me ALOT and as a result I don't use it as often as I had intended to.
Digital display easy to read and looks nice.
Water heats quickly, ready to start the coffee making process in a reasonable time frame.
Easy to clean parts.
The accessories supplied are useful. Although not a fan of the taste of coffee in a stainless steel cup

Terrible
This is the last Sunbeam Coffee machine I will ever buy. I tried one (3 actually, kept replacing it because they were defective!) about 4 years ago and back then took it back in favour of its Breville equivalent. We have done the same again. Dont bother!
It looked nice at the shop. You can froth the milk before making the coffee, as the machine has a cool down function.
Dont waste your money! The drip tray corroded in less than 2 months, the machine stayed warm all the time! It has a clock on it and says in the instruction book that the machine stays warm in standby mode- waste of electricity. Coffee was only average and some days tasted awful!

Bad
If you like lukewarm coffee and flaky operation, then this is the one for you. Otherwise don't buy it.
Can make a decent short expresso if you try hard enough!
Lukewarm coffee. Sloppy grounds. Messy operation. According to Sunbeam, the water temperature cannot be adjusted. The thermoblock heater is supposed to heat the water to 92c and when it finally comes out of the filter, it's supposed to be 72c, which is ok but rarely ever achieved by this machine. If you try to make a cuppacino (a half mug or bigger), the heater just can't keep up and the...Read more

Katherine H.asked
Sunbeam EM5600 machine - used for several years but not used daily until in recent weeks. It was working fine a few days ago now it won't pump water through, although I can hear a buzzing noise but not the normal pumping sound. This means I'm unable to try descaling with vinegar solution as nothing is being pumped through the machine.
What do you suggest?
Thanks

Not happy at allasked
I was given a Sunbeam EM5600. I have set it up very excited about having a lovely coffee.
My problem is I can not get any water or steam to come out the holes? Is there a simple fix for this or has something broken in it? Will descaling it help? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED PLEASE.
