Nice example of Planned Obsolescence
As per other reviewers, bought Mix Master after seeing mum use hers for years on end thinking it would last decades. So wrong! Bowl turning gear stripped after occasional use over last 5 years.
No longer can you get replacement parts for this poorly designed mixer it seems Sunbeam would like to insure all of these lemons are sent to the tip.

Absolute waste of time & money.
I had to give it one star as it won't allow you to give any less, maybe it would be for looks as it's a nice looking unit...the positives end there though. Used maybe 5 times in the first 12 months & then the beaters wouldn't stay in. Called Sunbeam, no receipt-no fix, so see ya. Never again will Sunbeam get a cent out of us for a single product no matter how good the reviews are on it. Do yourself a favour & buy anything but Sunbeam.
Looks nice.
Beaters fall out, mix works it's way up the beaters into the mixing head & it doesn't scrap the bowl.

Garbage!
I purchased the MX8900R after having sold my 40 year old model, still working, in a garage sale. What an idiot! The new one from the get go, used to vibrate the control dial around which used to slow the motor. The only use it had was to make pavlovas and the occasional sponge cake, possibly one or two times a year. The last time I used it, the motor just burned itself out, within the warranty period. As it was purchased at Clive Peeters, who in turn closed down, I thought that I had nowhere to claim my warranty. I was made aware after conta...Read more
cting consumer affairs that there is an implied warranty. I approached Harvey Norman whom I learned honour Clive Peeters goods, but! because I waited before making contact with Harvey Norman I have no claim. Sunbeam basically told me to get stuffed! Upshot! Don't buy Chinese made Garbage from Sunbeam. It does not last and although their warranty is 5 years it does not matter if you use the item once, there is no warranty!!!!!! A great big waste of money for a piece of garbage. Go Kleenaid! Bad warranty serviceSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Loved this machine until 3years in the motor went on the gears. Expensive to fix and when I spoke to customer service explaining why I didnt havd receipt ( insurance replaced this after a fire at my parents) I was told bad luck basically! So much for the 5year motor warrenty.
Like most of you, will not be buying a sunbeam EVER again
easy to use
dial rubbed off early so never really knew what speed i was mixing on. Customer service is a joke
