My turn to use it!
Was at my parents house the other day and saw this machine in all it glory, sitting proudly on the kitchen bench! I just had to use it!
But when it came around to me making aa double batch of pizza dough for the family gathering, it was just pure bliss! Set it for 8minutes at speed 4 and walked away to socialise with our many guests!
Hardly shakes at all! Didn't jump about like a Breville one I've owned before!
After I finished with the dough, my sister demanded she use it to make a pavlova! I watched in fasination as this machine was cra...Read more

I love this machine!
My husband bought me this for Mother's Day in 2011 and I LOVE it. I'm a hobby baker and use it at least 6 times a week. The scraper spatula attachment is brilliant, much less stopping the mixer to make sure all the ingredients are mixing. Have found it struggles a little with a large quantity of dry dough, sometimes needing to be turned off and on again, but mostly great.
Great workhorse, easy to use and clean.

Worked for 2 weeks then broke!
Seemed like a wonderful machine, but gears broke making bread just 2 weeks after purchase (at least I think the gears broke because while kneading dough it began to make a metallic, rattling broken sound suddenly). This was only the second time we'd made bread!
Apparently, this machine is good for light work, but if you want it for making doughs —a task at which it is supposed to excel— you could be out of luck.
Now I'm going to find out how good Sunbeam's customer service is. Wish me luck!
Edit: after reading the reviews for the other...Read more
Sunbeam Mixmaster model at this site, I am very alarmed to see my experience is not at all unusual. Edit #2: the unit will be sent back to the retailer, who will issue a full refund after inspection. Hopefully this will therefore end well. Looks good Poor quality

Refunded by Appliances Direct Online. Now using a Cuisinart PowerPrep Plus 14-cup Food Processor. This thing is built like a TANK and even has a cycle for dough (can do dough in 40 seconds!) -- solid, quality product.
I'm thinking of getting a small good mixer to make bread dough at home. I work at Baker's delight. I had a look at the power prep you suggested, and I'm pretty sure the dough you get out of less than ... Read more
40 seconds of mixing will not be any good. I'm sure it is is a good blender, but not a dough maker. I'm still looking for a small Machines that can knead dough effectively. http://youtu.be/Vu9vgyUvbJQI can assure you that the dough is excellent from the 40sec cycle. I didn't believe it until I saw it.

Better than a diamond ring!!
I did a bit of research and even borrowed the neighbours Kitchen Aid before I decided on this one. Am so happy I did! It is quiet but powerful, easy to lift with one hand. The slow start is awesome and the pause option sensational. I got this as a birthday gift and can i say... I am happier to recieve this than any diamond ring!! In love! (we also have the Sunbeam Cafe Series Coffee machine and it is my best friend too).
features, easy to use, quiet, powerful

Excellent, better than expected.
After a lot of research I decided to upgrade my very old but reliable mixmaster. My daughter has a Kitchenaid but on research it doesnt have enough grunt, so I looked at 1000watt machines. Finally decided on the Sunbeam Cafe model (my old sunbeam, still working was given to my youngest daughter) as it looked great, had a sturdy form and the stainless steel bowl had a handle along with 4 attachments. It is a dream to use with the led display and the instant stop/pause button. It handles small or large ammounts easiy. I look forward to many years using this appliance as I have many allergies and will always need to bake my own goodies.
Got it on a great deal at David Jones, cheaper than online!

Hello JAJA, What price did you get at David Jones??? What colour did you get?? Thanks :)
I got it for $425 and decided on white as it compliments my grey stone benchtops better than the colour, As I have morphy richards kettle and 4 slice toaster in the red, the sumbeam red was nice but too different to match up.
Just purchased this mixmaster and looking forward to using it. Purchased from Myer $425.00 too!

I bought this because my other mixer was struggling. This is very powerful. mixed dough in it and the head didn't even shake, well built. I think some of the previous reviewers are thinking of the wrong one, this is the planetary mixmaster, the mixmaster got bad reviews. The scraper beater scrapes the bowl so you dont have to. I think sunbeam have listened to their cosumers very well. So easy to use. The display is great showing digital speed and mixing time. very sturdy. whip eggwhites in a jiffy. very smooth, and quiet motor. been going stron...Read more
g for 6 months and i am expecting it to last me many more years in the future. I use it everyday in my cake shop. The bowl can hold heaps, and the bowl is stainless steel and very shiney, like the kitchenaid. Well done Sunbeam! :) very good, big capacity, scraper thingy, variable sppeds, timer, nice lookinSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic mixmaster for those that can't afford a Kenwood
Fantastic product, it mixes very well and I had no trouble with any of the attachments. Well worth the price especially if you can get it on sale.
I found it mixed my egg whites very well and the whisk attachment is my favourite, extremely powerful and a great stainless steel bowl.
I'd highly recommend this for all your cake mixing (or oter mixing) needs!
The whisking attachement and it's an inexpensive efficent machine

A very useful mixer
After researching many options including more expensive options, I decided on the Sunbeam. It works well for mixing cakes, chocolate mousse and whisking eggs. Pleased with the range of attachments which were included. It is a quiet machine that seems to cope with a wide range of tasks. It is also looks good on the bench.
Scraper mixing blade is excellent for making cakes - no need to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
The scraper mixing blade started to crack with a few months but it is being replaced by Sunbeam.

I love my Sunbeam.
I love my Sunbeam Cafe Series Planetary Mixmaster. I love the timer button, so you can mix things to the exact time the recipe says without having to look at a clock all the time. The stainless steel bowl is terrific, at least you cannot break it. I would recommend this Mixmaster to anyone. It's absolutely marvellous. I love it, love it, love it.
Love the timer, the speed dial, push to start, pause or finish. It's all great.

Ermagerd... I kitchen miracle!!!!
So i have been through so many mixers in the past that is not funny. This machine can whisk eggwhites at great speed and can gently knead dough at a nice low speed. The timer button thingy is great so i don't have to keep turning the dial to turn it off, i just press the button, and then press it again to start it back up at the same speed. I also bought the Classic Mixmaster at the same time the one i can use for everday domestic backing and a machine that the little ones can use. This Planetary Mixmaster is used everyday in my baking business...Read more
. It was so helpful and much more powerful than my previous KitchenAid. So for my baking business i thought what the hack and bought some more Planetary Mixmasters. So 6 intotal. Also very easy to clean. I had an apprentice in the other day and i told him to get 8 eggwhites and set the timer on. All he had to do was press a button. We had already worked out how long it took to do the same and wrote it down on piece of paper and stuck it to the machine. I also bought them i different colours to grove up my baking shop. When you walk in you can see the colouful mixers over the register and many customers have wanting to know what brand it is. I have since put i nice sign up on the wall stating info about the mixer and where to get them from. \ Ps Sunbeam, i also have your original cafe series mixmaster that has been going strong for like 8 years. Very Nice looking, performance is awesome. Maybe more colours like the kitchenaid8 comments
Your reviews are all glowing endorsements of the same company's products, and slagging off at competitors. Perhaps the mods here should take action? This is clearly not a genuine reviewer!

hen i bought the other planetary mixmasters, one was dead on arrival. Sunbeam sent out a replacement free of charge and picked up the broken one. That to me is good service. It is a great machine, so maybe you should not be such a grumpy pants and look at getting it replaced!!! I have a sunbeam toaster that isn't soo great, and a kitchenaid food processor that i love. So please dont start to judge me, thinking that i work for sunbeam when i dont!!!No replacements for me, thank you. I read the reviews for the other Mixmaster model with horror.

Great Mixer - A Poor Mans Kitchen Aid
We purchased this after returning Mix Master Cafe Series MX8900. That device was next to useless and I wasnt too sure if we should try another mixer from Sunbeam after the first experience.
Some great features including an easy clean chassis, cord storage, count down feature and instant off/on. Its also great to move around as its alot lighter than I would have expected.
It's worth noting that it doesnt have any accessories items like our Kitchenaid. It is simply a mixer.
In summary we are happy with the purchase and though its not as strong or well build than our kitchenaid it is great value.
Inexpensive, Well designed for cleaning, Count down feature.
No accessories option.

Almost forgot. One other con. The splashguard spout is too shallow and as a result we keep having to push dry ingredients into the mixer.

bout 25 years before she started buying some occasionally. She used it for mixing cakes and sponges, making extra for all relatives birthday parties and at Christmas. She used the juicer attachment, also the mincer for making orange jam, melon & lemon jam, or lemon butter. She used the mincer for chopping/mincing tomatoes and onions for tomato chutney and did the onions for plum sauce or chutney. It had 2 different size china bowls. There was always a "fight" between my brother and I when we were little as to who got to lick the beaters before they were washed when Mother had made icecream. Unfortunately the mixer "died " while my niece was mixing a cake a few months ago. Mother used it constantly for about 30 years and then only occasionally. I reckon I was about 8 years old when Dad bought it and it was used at least a week when I started work. I am now 60 so that tells you how old it was.Similar opinion? Questions & Answers

Why is this dysfunctional not taken out of circulation. I had to return mine due to its inability to mix anything well. Absolutely useless for creaming butter and sugar. I am using my 20 year old Sunbeam mixer which is just perfect. Christmas cakes, pavlovas, sponges and cakes all beautifully mixed.

Hello Libby,
Thank you for your question...
All mixers no matter how expansive they are will at times need to have the bowl scrapped down with a spatula, especially when there is a small quantity of ingredients on the bowl.
All recipes that usually begin with butter and sugar will instruct you to scrap the bowl and mix again because most mixers will need that help at first and then will be fine when more ingredients are added.
This is not a satisfactory answer. My old Sunbeam creamed perfectly. I see many other comments re this problem in reviews of this mixer. I also have quite a few friends who have also returned their new mixers. Thank you for your reply but this model does need to improve.

Hi. I have a sunbeam cafe series mixer. The mixer attachment will not come off as it should. Has anyone experienced this and if so, how can I get it off.

No but I returned this mixer as it would not cream butter and sugar. The paddle did not scrape the sides of the bowl

Hello Kiwi,
To remove the particular mixing attachment, push it upwards, turn it anticlockwise, then pull it downwards (Figure 8; on page 8): https://www.sunbeam.com.au/Root/Specifications/InstructionBooklet/MX9200_ib_1.pdf
Hi Sunbeam
Thank you for responding. If it worked as above then I would not have a problem. The attachment does not want to move around to the point that allows me to pull it downwards. And yes I have done the usual push it up and turn anticlockwise. I love my sunbeam products but I must say this one is a bit frustrating as I also find it does not cream properly. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Ive had the Mixer for under a year and haven't used it very much but now its not working. The machine turns on, the LED light turns on but when I turn the dial to make it mix - nothing happens. The timer on the LED begins and then 4 seconds later the LED goes blank and then appears with this ( -- EO ) on the screen. Nothing i do will change this, i just have to unplug it. It seems like an Error code or maybe its referring to something but there is no information about what this could mean in the manual or anywhere online. Please help!

Hello r.winter,
It sounds like the Mixer head is not locked down properly, see page 15 for steps to fix: https://www.sunbeam.com.au/Root/Specifications/InstructionBooklet/MX9200_ib_1.pdf
