how long should it take to cook 4 pies?

Around 12 minutes or an extra 2 minutes if you like them well done.
I'd say 10 - 12 minutes making sure it's up to heat (green light) before using it...I've noticed that you need to be right on the filling otherwise the pastry on top remains lighter in colour in the centre due to not getting close to the element...My wife is planning on making her own pastry for our next lot of pies.

That would depend if the filling is already cooked. If that's the case normally 5 mins is enough.
