Could be better
A good little machine but, with the following modifications, could be a great little machine:
Make the parts dishwasher proof
Decrease the level of buzzer - far too loud
The poaching trays need a little handle or ridge to be able to remove them from the cooker without burning yourself
The poaching trays need to be a little higher so egg white doesn't spill out
The numbers on the measuring jug need to be more than printed on so they don't rub off

Great little unit
I am disappointed that the tray has rusted! Also disappointed that the water level instructions have rubbed
Off both unit and measuring cup and my guesswork is not always accurate. I bought it mainly to cook hard boiled eggs for salads and sometimes they are undercooked. Think it is a great unit in spite of drawbacks
though.

Best thing since sliced bread!!!
Love, love, love this produce, takes the guess work out of cooking the perfect egg. and best of all Sunbeam backs their products with great customer service. After approximately 18 months of regular use, the tray which holds the eggs broke, I contacted Sunbeam and told them it was broken, I had no receipt to show how long I have owned the product but as a good will gesture they are replacing the tray. That's WOW customer service in my opinion.

Very Happy with Sunbeam Poach & Boil EC1300
I bought A Breville Eggspert (BEG100) and it was rubbish and that's where it wen't to the tip, I wen't out and Bought A Sunbeam Poach & Boil EC1300 it is the best the only fault I can find on it is the measuring cup the water levels are just painted on and wear off but apart from that it is great the buzzer is nice and loud and you can have it turned on or off I just love this one. Thanks Sunbeam

Brilliant!
This little marvel has completely revolutionised breakfast. Like so many people I'm time poor in the mornings and often grab something to eat that's processed or skip breakfast altogether.
Now I have boiled or poached eggs nearly every morning and feel so much better for having had a nutritious breakfast.
It only takes 10 minutes including clean-up and I don't have to tend the eggs as they cook, so I'm free to get ready while my breakfast is cooking.
Love this product.

Love love love it
Makes cooking eggs so easy. Kids love to prep the eggs and fill the water. The only reason I didnt give it 5 is the measurements have rubbed off the side and sometimes water leaks but minor issues really

Revolutionised breakfast at my place
I love this egg cooker, I had one until recently when it died because I literally used it to death. It lasted over 3 years being used EVERY morning. Alright for $40.
Back when I was working long hours, I'd be getting up at 6am to get a good walk in for the dogs and then have about 45 mins to shower, style hair, put makeup on, get dressed, eat and get all my stuff organised to leave the house. The only thing I looked forward to was a hot breakfast, but how can you do this with just a couple of minutes to spare? Easy, cook eggs and veggies in ...Read more
the Poach & Boil. I would check whatever I had in the fridge in, put it on and go have a shower. Admittedly, you can't leave it unattended because it will not turn itself off, but at least I could do other things rather than tend to the stove or other. With the cups, you can also mix up a small omelette or frittata, just pour it in and let it steam while you do something else. The measurement cup is perfectly accurate. Remarkable, really. I was naughty and just used to run the whole thing under the tap while I cleaned it (while unplugged of course!). It never had any problems with this. I even started cooking lunch and dinner in it – perfect for one person, or even two. I'd wrap some chicken in foil with spices and steam that on top of the white grate. Then add some veg in for a few mins at the end. Beautiful! In the end the grey ring which sits on top just deteriorated too much from the heat, but it lasted very well for the price and was a much loved part of the kitchen. I'm not as time-pressed anymore but I've been meaning to buy another.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Was good not useless
At first it was great, perfect eggs (although had to put marks to actually see the measurements) now it doesn't "tweet" when finished and have to place paper towel under as it leaks and leaks and merely guess when ready. So now a once good product is destined to the bin.

Excellent appliance but look after the measuring cup.
Love this appliance. Have had it for a few years now and it is in constant use. Keep your measuring cup in a safe place. If you lose it go to sunbeam.co.nz and look up instruction booklets for the table of measurements.

Perfect eggs all the time
This cooker is great! It boils eggs perfectly with minimum cleaning needed. Just follow the very easy instruction and you will get your eggs cooked perfectly. The eggs are easy to peel, too. You can also use this to poach eggs and steam veggies. No hassle in the morning to have eggs as breakfast.
Easy to use and perfect result.
The alarm is way too loud, especially in the morning.

Sunbeam Poach and Boil
Love it! No more using the stove to boil or poach an egg. It 'boils' up to 6 eggs at a time, (soft, medium, hard) and can poach up to 2 eggs using the poaching tray. It even has an alarm to let you know when the eggs are done.
Everything. Terrific little appliance.

Sunbeam Poach n Boil
I purchased this just recently and I must say the eggs come out to perfection. I poached 2 eggs then soft boiled another 2 and they were perfect. No more guess work in trying to figure out when the eggs are cooked. Would recommend to anyone wanting to buy one.
Don't have to guess anymore when the eggs are done.

Fail Safe Soft Boiled Egg!
Before getting this product as a Christmas Present. I was one of those people who would 9 out of 10 times manage to mess up a boiled egg. I was always either too runny ( as in the egg white was undercooked ) or too hard. I had also tried the different tricks too but it was something that just evaded me.
Enter the Sunbeam Poach and Boil. Now everytime I get a soft boiled egg to perfection a firm eggwhite with a wonderfully runny yoke, I love it! :)
Very simple and easy, perfect eggs everytime.

Great Product
Best little helper we have ever purchased, cooks eggs to perfection every time. Easy to use & clean and for the price it is a kitchen appliance worth getting. If a mere male can use this without having to get instructions from the good wife, then anyone can and get perfect boiled eggs every time.
Simple to use and quick.

Does what it says...to perfection!
When i first found this gem on product review i was skeptical about its claims. I idid my research online on how these kind of egg boilers work, saw a few videos(of similar products). Eventually i decided to give it a shot since i was inexpensive and i had respect for sunbeam. Needless to say not only it surpassed my expectations of perfectly boiled eggs, soft/medium/hard, but also delicious poached eggs. The ease of maintenance, operation, clean up are all shining successes of the product. Given today's up and go world any product's worth is d...Read more
efined by how does it deliver on quality without sacrificing on time and clean up, which is why this product is a steal at this price to say the least. Kudos Sunbeam 'Inexpensive', Easy to use/clean/maintain. So easy to use that u might actually forget that it does require some clean up (at least after a week or two)Similar opinion? So simple, easy and a reliable soft boiled egg every time!
We love this little appliance in our house. It's used nearly every morning for our daughter so she can have 2 soft boiled eggs. If the yolks aren't runny she's unhappy - this has only happened once with this little beauty - that was because I left it in the machine for 5 minutes too long.
The poach 'n' boil cooker can do boiled eggs either soft, medium or hard; poached eggs or an omelette. We've only ever used it for boiled and poached eggs. It is easy to clean - just have to wipe the base out and rinse the lid.
The only complaint I have...Read more
is we've had our cooker for 2 years and the measurements on the little jug you get (to tell you how much water to add) is slowly wearing off. I would advise to not put this jug in the dishwasher otherwise the measurements will be gone in no time at all. Overall, a fast and easy way to cook your eggs. Can cook a soft boiled egg nearly perfect every time! Jug measurements are slowly wearing offSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Reasonable little egg cooker
I'm hopeless at cooking soft boiled eggs and this little cooker has solved the problem for me. You can boil up to 6 eggs at once, poach two eggs or use the poaching trays for cooking 2 mini omelettes and there's also a steaming rack for doing a single serve of vegetables. I've only used it for boiling eggs so far. I'm not sure I'd bother with steaming vegetables in this cooker, but may try cooking a little omelette some day. Highly recommended for those who love the perfect soft boiled egg - you just have to work out exactly how much water ...Read more
you need. It comes with guidelines, but as the egg wasn't at room temperature - straight out of the fridge - it needed a little bit of extra water!! I marked the exact level needed with a marker pen on the measuring cup and haven't gone wrong since. Compact and easily stored away, got it on sale at $25. A bit of trial and error needed at the beginning as I use eggs straight from the fridge rather than at room temperatureSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Foolproof, failproof eggs!!!
I wouldn't be without this product!! I have two eggs every morning and they're always cooked to absolute perfection! I don't use the poaching option but always make soft boiled eggs. You'd think soft boiling eggs on the stove would be easy but somehow it was always hit and miss for me and overcooked eggs are disappointing.
This product is easy to clean and simply does what it's supposed to do. Sometimes I put 2-4 extra eggs in and once my soft boiled ones are cooked, I cook the others for longer to hard boil them for school lunches.

w others have mentioned this as a novelty item but I think it's far from it. It stays on my kitchen bench all the time and is used daily, if not twice daily. Foolproof eggs, cooked to perfection. Easy to clean, easy to use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Essential Item!
This electric egg cooker is so handy. For breakfast, it poaches my 2 eggs in 4 minutes. This is the correct timing for the accompaniment of toast & coffee/tea. It also hard boils & soft boils. Also, cooks an omelette & steams a small amount of vegies. This egg cooker is very easy to clean.
Inexpensive & very neatly put together

Questions & Answers
Den P.asked
Does the boiler switch off automatically once eggs are cooked?
1 answer
Customer C.Sunbeam
Hi Den P,
Thank you for your question. We suggest to use the Cook with Ready Buzzer to alert you when the eggs are done. If you wish to leave it for longer please ensure you check the water level.

Why less water for more boiled eggs
2 answers
Customer C.Sunbeam
Hi Debra W, when you have more eggs in the Poach & Boil, the water takes longer to evaporate. If you follow the instructions you will get perfect eggs everytime!
Nice to see this logical question addressed. I was also wondering at these water levels being less for more eggs.
