We recently purchased one of these woks and after only a couple of uses the lid and the vent are not sealing properly and we are getting burned by steam coming from all around the lid and up around the handle that’s getting very hot?

had mine 4 years now not had a problem as such, although the whole vent on lid did come off in early months just put it back together tightened with screw under lid and has been fine since.Note after 4 years of regular use the non stick base is not working as good, getting a buildup in the pan which i have tried many ways to remove and still sticking,.having said that i am thinking of repurchasing same as we have been very pleased with the product.maybe the wok or lid is warped?if this is the case i suggest you try to return for replacement

Why has the Sunbeam Professional Wok stopped heating, The electrical cord and plug still works but the wok stays cold. Has my wok DIED....can it be revived??? Jim

Sounds like it died. Take it back to the stote for a refund.
Sounds like the heating element has failed. The heater control unit and lead should be checked by a competent person or electrican. If that is okay, the unit has died. And needs to be replaced.
depends how old it is under 12 months it's warranted, after that cheaper to replace,i love mine and would gladly buy another if it failed.LOVE IT

I purchased this wok last weekend however the non-stick surface is covered in scratches already after only two uses. I used a plastic spatula for cooking but washed it gently with a soft dish brush. Is a dish brush non appropriate for cleaning the non-stick surface? A non-stick Sunbeam Wok that I had years ago seemed to be a lot tougher than this one.

A bit disappointing to have the surface of such a poor quality.
Surprising that it only lasted such a short time. Doesn't sound like the owner was at fault. I would imagine that it may have been faulty out of the book.
But I have stopped buying Sunbean frypans ans Woks. they just don't last.
A bit arrogant on the part of Sunbeam to treat their customers so poorly. I don't think this is an accident. Just company policy in my opinion.
Especially as the Sunbeam product are priced quite high.

Hi! We recently replaced a sunbeam wok with a sunbeam ww7500d and really happy with it except for detaching the base. The thumb screw has little to no tension and the base is so hard to get off. We often spend a good 3-4 minutes trying to detach. The old one never gave one issue but the new one is a constant battle. What can we do about it?
Regards, Tony

Why does my professional wok give off strong burning chemical fumes when heating?

Brendan K.Sunbeam
Hi Annie,
This is normal for the first few uses as it is a coating used in the manufacturing process to protect the Teflon and surface.
Before using, turn on a high heat for a few minutes. It is completely safe to still cook your food in and over time you will notice all that coating has been lifted by the heat and you will no longer smell it.
If you require any further advise or information on the unit, please don't hesitate to give our Customer Care Team a call on 1300 881 861 and one of our representatives will be more than happy to assist.
Kind Regards

I have liked this wok, but after a year, the lid spontaneously shattered while stored in the cupboard. I have never heard of anything like it!
Can anyone enlighten me? And can I get it replaced?
