I bought the Little Buy to indulge myself and have learnt to froth the milk. Am happy with the taste of my coffee. The Little Guy is easy to use and to clean. If I don't need two shots I freeze the balance and use in cakes,
biscuits or ice cream. Well done Craig. Mrs C.
November 5th 2017 Update: At last a little milk saucepan!

ot Plate, the penny finally dropped. Of course, the Little Guy saucepan with pouring lip and handle I now use for more than just when I make coffee. I'm careful to keep it to one side of the heating circle on the Induction base so as to not burn the handle. I have used it as a small saucepan for things other than milk. I haven't used the Induction base outdoors yet to cook in my big cast iron wok. I shall. I have solar electricity and therefore I will endeavour to use electricity rather than gas BBQ, at least when it does the job. Why put the 6Kw on the roof and not take advantage of it? Economy! If the Little Guy saucepan/cup were available to purchase separately I would be happy to purchase another. Mrs CSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Beautiful and portable
I have had my Little Guy for over two year. Without fail it has provided excellent coffee. I love the fact there is a little art involved in achieving the perfect cup. But in the end it is very easy. Last year it travelled with me for ten months around Australia in my motor home and I never had to go without a good coffee. The amount of horrible coffees served on my trip by "cafes" and "road houses" was incredible. I high recommend the Little Guy for anybody who likes the art of coffee making.

The best espresso maker - practical and easy to use
We love our Little Guy and haven't stopped using it since Christmas. It's so easy to use with little cleaning needed. You can tell it's sturdy and well made and just love the look. We buy pre ground beans and the espresso is perfect with a great crema. I cant speak highly enough about the Little Guy - wish we had bought it sooner. This is one of my favourite kitchen appliances.

Great coffee, great design and great customer service!
Finally we found the time to write this review :)
For six months by now, we have been enjoying the delicious coffee from our “The Little Guy“ coffee machine. As many reviewers have mentioned before, it really takes some practice until you get used to the machine until you produce shots of great coffee, but it’s definitely worth it!! Making coffee with this machine is like a ritual and it helps to ‘slow down’ your daily life.
One of the most remarkable things is the customer’s service. We bought our “The Little Guy” Espresso machine during o...Read more

The Little Guy has made my morning coffee ritual rather special! Love it!
For a while now I was looking for a coffee machine which allows me to use my own beans, is simple to use and allows me to make coffee how I want it. The Little Guy has helped me achieve that and so much more. Honestly, making coffee each morning with The Little Guy has really enhanced my morning coffee ritual. It is easy, fun, enjoyable to watch and is something I honestly look forward to daily.

when it comes to coffee gear. After reading countless reviews and doing my research, I decided to go with The Little Guy. It is easy to use, easy to clean, looks great and most importantly gives me a level of control over how I make the perfect cup. Preparation is easy and once I pop the machine on The Little Guy induction plate I just go through the motions, guided by beeps the induction plate gives off, indicating stages throughout the process. Taking care of your machine is key. I've read comments whereby people have had issues steaming the milk and I have had this too once or twice. That said, a little troubleshooting and care goes a long way. Making sure you have the right grind of coffee and the right amount in the basket, tamping the basket correctly, ensuring there is enough water in the device to begin with and keeping the steaming wand clean has always worked for me. Pretty much everything outlined in the instructions. It might take a little practice for some, however, it becomes second nature quickly :) Customer service is great too. I have reached out to The Little Guy team and they have always been prompt and helpful! Honestly, this is an unreal machine. Unreal bit of gear
I bought TLG mostly because I wanted to see how the design worked and stop using unrecyclable pods. I am so impressed!! Initially my expectation was to make a home coffee equivalent to an average/poor cafe (after all, it's home coffee). With some minor adjustments to grind size, fill amount and tamping pressure I am producing coffee equivalent to a GOOD cafe!!! Why pay $3.5 when my coffee at home is better? This machine is an engineering masterpiece, and respect it as such. This means take the time and effort to adjust different inputs, and tal...Read more
k to someone in the know. Getting the right grind size and quantity and tamping pressure is the difference between an OK cup and a great cup. Reviewers on here who slag TLG are probably not getting the right inputs (crap coffee, big grinds, old and oxidised grinds etc etc). Remember, ground coffee goes stale quickly. A good grinder costs $500. A good bean isn't free. These are probably errors people are making and blaming TLG. I doubt it's a machine error, there are no moving parts! Couldn't recommend highly enough. Get one, experiment, talk, and you will be nothing but impressedSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We love our Little Guy!
This is a long-overdue product review of the Little Guy. We bought our Little Guy 2 1/2 years ago and it is still going strong. This is a brilliant machine. We love the quality coffee it produces for our daily espresso, cappuccino, latte and iced coffee. When first bought, we had some trouble-shooting issues that I couldn't resolve from the online tutorials, and was bowled over when [name removed], the owner of the business, called me back and helped me out. His customer service is out of this world. In the two and a half years since we first b...Read more
ought the Little Guy, we've had one faulty induction cooker (replaced immediately without charge) and a seal break ($6 replacement part). See, the great thing about this product is the lack of moving parts and cheap buttons that break and render the machine useless. Just like the old school Atomic, the Little Guy is built to, and will last - if I have to occasionally buy a seal, so be it. The Little Guy suits us perfectly. We are in a routine where the machine gets loaded with water and coffee, then is ignored whilst we go about other early morning routines (make breakfast for the kids etc), when the steam starts to build up, we froth the milk, and coffee's all done, no fuss. It's not instant, but I like the rhythm that this machine has. To get around the fact it only pumps out 2 espressos per round, I tend to make a few coffees in the lead up to when we have friends over, and just serve the premade espressos with hot milk. We use our induction cooker most days with our meal preparation too, and it works far quicker than our stupid electric stove - which was another reason why we chose the induction cooker. But honestly, it takes the guesswork out of the coffee preparation (which is good when you're suffering a caffeine withdrawal!) and just beeps to let you know to get ready to froth the milk. We love the beautiful design, the fact it won't break down, and makes delicious coffee. We love the service from [name removed] and the portability of the machine (it is small and heavy but comes with a travel case). You can't go wrong with this coffee machine. It's the best.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Pure selfish indulgence clad in stainless steel
Before doing anything else, read the instructions and study the tutorials. The Little Guy rewards those that put the effort in with an espresso coffee bursting with a synergy of purity, intensity and class. Something this good unfortunately takes time so make sure to allocate a daily 'happy place' appointment to appreciate the best of life in a cup. The Little Guy is not for crowds, he knows his niche and doesn't make apologies to try be anything outside of design. Follow your inner voice and spoil yourself! Craig's Hiron's passion and dedication is reflected his customer service that is second to none. Thank you Craig for your past advice and help, this is the start of a lifetime Little Guy love affair...

In our top five favourite household items
The resulting coffee tastes great — better than most of the cafes within walking distance from home (except for one). We have used it pretty much every moirning since we got it. Once you get used to the routine which is very basic (easy after the first time) you just do the same thing. We use the companion induction stove top, which means just touching the on button, no fuss, perfect temperature. We have also used the induction top when our gas supply cut out — to cook bolognese sauce, and pasta, no mean feat! We travel with the kit, fantastic for country and beach holidays. Easy to clean, easier than a food processor. We love it.

We loveeeee our 'Little Guy'
We absolutely love our 'Little Guy', not only do we use it frequently at home we also take it camping... (well glamping)!
We have now purchased the induction top which took a little bit of getting used too, but well worth the purchase, we moved to a standard Gas cooker at home and found that the little guy didn't work to its potential hence the reason to purchase the induction top!
Thanks for all your help and support Craig!

Overdue review - Great investment
Long overdue review. I love this thing. I was an early adopter, being onboard since the days of it being called 'Otto'. No, it doesn't generate the same pressure as the very best (and crazy expensive) espresso machines but it's built like a tank, and beautifully engineered and for the money kills most home espresso machines. It's also gorgeous to look at and can proudly sit on display in any kitchen.
This is one for the tweakers, for those that like ritual and experimenting with different grinds, amounts, beans etc. It's not for the pe...Read more
rson that just wants to press a button and be done with it. Grab a Nespresso or similar if that's your thing. But if you want to play and are willing to allow for a learning curve and put in the effort you'll get great results. But this is the same approach you should take with many of the higher end home machines anyway! Any decent coffee joint will be able to give you the correct grind for the Little Guy, or you can experiment with your own grinder. I also have the induction cook top which makes things much easier and reproduceable. Craig, the creator of the Little Guy, has always been helpful and is willing to offer advice. He is passionate about his product and his support is unbelievable. Recently my induction cook top died and he facilitated a replacement. I for one am happy to support an Australian product and designer that not only delivers where it counts (the coffee!) but also is made with love and backed with great support. That's worth a lot in my book. Cheers Craig.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The ultimate coffee machine
Awesome coffee machine that produces great tasting coffee. Excellent crema, excellent steam pressure. We even take it in our caravan. We have had the machine for 6 years and it has worked flawlessly, until, last week. I got on the phone to the manufacturer who advised me to replace the pressure relief valve, $20. Easy to fix myself and it's back up and going.
Customer service is excellent!

Great machine
I purchased an 'Otto' over 5 years ago, after my Atomic started to struggle, and it just keeps getting better. Three things stand out about the Otto/TLG. First, it is an incredibly well crafted and beautifully designed machine. Second, the coffee it makes is rich and distinctive. It produces more than enough steam, although I initially struggled. This was because I started doing the milk to early. Once you get the timing right you will have no problems at all. Third, it is incredibly robust, and even better portable.
We use it multiple times each day. Love it

What ever did I do before the little guy came along?
I love my little guy. It's unique look makes it a talking piece of my kitchen when visitors come over. Thereafter, it doesn't disappoint with the coffee it makes. It's straight forward to use.
It's about as easy/ difficult to clean as any other coffee machine I've purchased in the past.

I've owned TLG for just over 12 months and after 20 yrs of using my Atomics I was impressed at the results I was getting after the teething period of getting to know the machine. Now I'm starting to worry about the reviews that point out the lack of steam and the internal silicone tubes.
I wasn't aware the internal tubes were made of silicone and I'm concerned about the longevity of these tubes and how one goes about replacing them if they fail? I to, have started to notice a reduction in steam output and it's got me a bit worried if this i...Read more
s going to be a problem for me in the future. Seems an unusual thing to do given the time and materials taken to produce TLG, why would you add the silicone tubes that do not have the same longevity as the stainless steel and introduce a weak link in the chain creating a big problem to replace when they do fail?Similar opinion? Worth all the Hot Air?
This beautiful, expensive stovetop espresso machine has the potential to make great coffee if you're willing to invest the time to get to know it. The little guy, like it's begetter, can be intimidating, but if you want good coffee and you're not afraid of some hot air - this unit is worth your consideration. Be aware though, that if the rubber seal in this machine perishes (and it will) you'll need to chase up a replacement, which can be a costly, complicated process.

Hey to all TLG owners out there! Anyone know how to pull TLG apart completely? Specifically the group head with the internal silicon pipe attached to it. I think mine has just blown the internal silicon pipes apart - big steam explosion just as I was about to steam some milk and all the pressure dropped out!! I'm in NZ and I dont think there is a repairer here so if I can get it apart I'll replace the pipes myself...........Cheers Carl

Hey guys. I have a milk tip, and a question.
Tip- when texturing milk, only introduce air into the milk while it's cold. Once the milk is warm, introducing air will only ruin the texture. Also the milk jug will squeal for two reasons - not enough air in the milk, or not enough steam pressure.
Question- I struggle to get enough pressure to do a small jug of milk. My extraction is fine, I fill to the bottom edge, have the flame on reasonably high, and wait until the extraction is nearly complete to start on the milk. What am I doing wrong??
1 answer
Does extraction start before the 8 min mark? Is yes, try a finer grind size until extraction starts on the 8 min mark. Or try using the other basket insert with the small number of holes. That will help with getting the right pressure for texturing.
Sebastian B.asked
Hey team. A question, and a comment..
The comment is.. as a barista in a former life I have some milk tips..
-only texture (when the steam tip is near the surface) when the milk is cold. Once it's staring to warm, just spin the milk to the desired temperature. Introducing air into warm milk will split it. Also, the milk jug will squeal if there's not enough air in the milk, or if there is insufficient steam pressure.
Question- I'm struggling to get anough steam pressure to texture a small jug of milk. I'm filling the water right up to the bottom edge and my coffee is extracting fine. I wait until the extraction is nearly done to start texturing.
