Excellent sporty family car!
I have had my Camry for almost three years and I LOVE it! It is reliable car which has got a very powerful engine and the options on the Atara SL model are great and can please everyone.
I can't really fault the car however when I took the car for service they told me that updating the GPS costs about $300 every time which I think is absurd! Therefore I had to buy a Garmin for $200 with free lifetime updates.

Very Economical
Toyota Camry Atara SL Hybrid
Very Economical at 6.5L/100km in the real world (better than a corolla)
Very quiet!
Comfortable no nonsense interior.
Great to have advanced features such as autonomous emergency braking and radar guided cruise control available in a Camry.

Over rated
Having borrowed this car for a week,
Pros: Economical, roomy, good acceleration, decent sound system
Cons: Road noise, cheap and bland interior, dash gauge functions, Infotainment a nightmare to operate.
Not the easiest or most comfortable car to get in to. In general, driving performance is quite good with reasonable handling and plenty of power under your foot.
The interior is what lets it down in my opinion. Typical Toyota styling has not changed over the years, so expect cheap plastic everywhere. Sat Nav was a right pain to operat...Read more

The boring car you just can't live without
Ok lets face it, you aren't looking at a Toyota Camry because it is the most exciting thing you've done since your trip to Disney Land, but you did buy it because you don't want to be stranded on the side of the road or pay through your nose in maintenance fees and this is what Toyotas are very very good at.
It drives well, not great acceleration, not splendid fuel efficiency, in fact the interior design looks kinda boring but it is a great machine. If you are looking for something that just goes and goes and you don't mind looking like the 50 other cars on the road then this is the car for you!

Better than i thought.
Reluctantly purchased this car after our mazda let us down. Only took it because it had *similar* features to our mazda. Looks nice, drives well, very quiet interior in comparison to our mazda. Has the optional sunroof, 18" wheels, and upgraded suspension. Loads of room in the cabin, and boot. Features that work well- mostly.
- The radar cruise control is not in the same league as the mazdas, but does its job - just keep the radar clean, or it gets a bit iffy.
- Blind spot works well, probably as good as the caprice we had.
- The auto dim...Read more

No more a Grey Cardigan Car
This is my retirement car after seriously going through an exhaustive list, The Camry Atara SL ticks all the boxes for a medium family sized car.
Great value, fantastic safety features, cool gadgets and instrumentation, renowned reliability and trusted brand world wide.
Gone are the bland white goods look. Toyota has followed a proven formula of trickle down styling from their premium Lexus range, in this instance the ES 250. The Atara SL drives like a dream without the $$$ expected from its Lexus cousin. Noise, Performance and Handling is ...Read more

Get's the job done
Very/Extremely smooth (Hybrid Model)
Lots of power on tap from down low - thanks to electric motor.
Excellent on fuel.
Reliable.
Comfortable.
Just a tad little boring on the interior compared to other brands. But for the price they charge you can't complain.
Comes with capped price service for 3 years so makes maintaining this car VERY affordable.

Coukd have been 5 stars if not for...
This is my second Camry Atara (had 2013 R and now have 2015 Atara Sl new shape)
and overall im happy with both cars. The SL is much smoother ride and i feel is great value for money(got toyota company car 1 yr old both times from dealer ) compared to other similar spec level cars i researched. Its my first keyless car with push button start and i love it. No more fumbling for keys with hands full shopping . Fuel economy is great for city and country driving considering its a large car. Toyota could have revamped the dash on newer mode...Read more

very nice
The car is a 2012 Toyota Camry Atara SL and it looks cool and is nice to sit in, there are huge rear blind spots which make changing lanes risky. The car feels well powered but the automatic transission feels sluggish and hessitant. I would recommend this car however but not the Altise I would recommend getting a model with reverse camera or parking sensors to make the car better but other than that it is pretty comfortable to sit in and a huge roomy boot.

Solid reliable & quiet with decent ride
Camry Atara SL 2013, magic stereo a 10 speaker JBL, NO CD PLAYER on Atara SL...go figure? Seats very comfortable and solid, quality leather. The two memory settings is fabulous for two regular drivers! Acres of space, no rocket sled but certainly capable of sub 6L per 100 km on open road if driven gently. Engine refinement; eerily quiet. An examination of dyno results for the car show an amazingly flat torque curve to 5000 rpm, and a slow taper thereafter...good work Toyota, the variable cam timing on both inlet and exhaust cams paying dividends here. Plastics a bit squeaky on poor roads, plenty around here! Very satisfied owner thus far, servicing value was as key purchase determinant.

2013 Toyota Camry SL
Quiet car to drive, traded in a 2007 Honda Civic for this. Honda's dashboard was awesome compared to this. Finding this car too big for suburbia driving ie. zooming in and out of places. Turning is a lot harder, especially parking. But a beautiful car to drive long distance, great boot space and roomy inside. Chews up more petrol of course, compared to the Civic. Excellent Salesman at Toyota, not pushy, gave you space to consider your purchase and down to earth. All staff there came across as genuine.
Boot space, reversing camera, leather seats,...Read more

Great car
Had a Ford Falcon Ghia and just took possession of 2013 Camry Atara SL. So far I like it, it has all the fruit of a much more expensive car and yes, it is a 'cardigan car' but I don't care. It's roomy, comfortable and has all I need in a car.
All the fruit

As expected
Have a 2012 SL. What I expected. Leather seats bad design and mark easily and getting aftermarket parts is impossible. Car Is slow and noisy. But is everything I expected. It;s also cheap to run. But fuel tank seems small and only 500k before fuel light turns on. Hit my head twice when boot lid falls back down. Handling was a surprise and love all the equipment
Good on fuel, looks, equipment, cheap
Leather seats, boot hinges, aftermarket parts

If it is as expected, why the low score? 40% rating should be applied if the car really was bad. I did try to read between the lines and assumed that you just would have loved something in a higher price bracket?

Just an update on this. All cars I've ever owned, I use either 95/98 octane, and have done so also with the Camry. My last tank however I tried 91 to see as its rated at 91. I've noticed that since 10... Read more
0km into the tank, the car has started pinging. So it seems I gotta head back to 95/98. Just very strange as it states 91. I don't mind using 95 or 98, always done so, won't bother me.
