Uber is a terrible company to deal with

published

Uber is absolutely shocking. In Australia there is no way to complain other than the limited auto options in the app. There is no customer service, no phone or even in app chat option. The Uber route sent through the map was completely wrong, took us miles out of the way and I was then overcharged by 60% and the app advised I had accepted the charge when I booked the app which is a lie. I will be using Ola only from now on.

Error in booking

published

I just booked a ride for 9.15 am 6 March and paid to discover the pick up address I typed didn't work and wrong address is showing. Uber says to go to App and click on help and there is no help showing and I am not happy with this app as I have paid with my card.

They didn’t turn up for nearly 2 hours and then charged $100 for less than 10 kilometres

published

Uber booked .. constantly saying 6 minutes away - then calls and says his cars axle was broken
Uber sent 2nd driver but fare changed whilst waiting- saying we would be charged 3 times more than original price
You can’t ring and complain they make it impossible to contact and complain- an appalling joke of a service use GI Gi instead or a taxi cause this was a direct rip because their drivers vehicle was unreliable hence he didn’t turn up ... if there was - stars I’d give them - 10- they left us stranded vulnerable...Nuh.... belt your service up your clacker Uber - and ya blocked by my bank as well - thieves

The worst ever possible experience

Uber are the worst company in the world to deal with. Their drivers come late and are plain rude with no regard for your time or road rules. They forget that there are many other ride sharing platforms. Go with anyone but Uber.

Uber driver pulls up, swears at me to cancel ride.

published

Uber is alright. Some drivers are good, some are bad. However, uber seriously needs to have guidelines on how their drivers should respond. I’ve experienced a driver arrive, swear at me, calling me names and swearing at me to cancel the ride? Then think its okay to cancel and have no repercussions to randomly swearing at a customer for no reason? I wasn’t dresses in a manner where I could be seen as someone doing dodgy things. Uber doesn’t care about customers and only cares about profits as they haven’t responded to my report of the incident or any other reports from other customers.

Overpriced and not correct

published

We have just used Uber in Sydney. They qouted the ride as 60 AUD so we decided to use them rather than a taxi. When we got to the hotel and received the invoice it turn out that we had to pay AUD 79! Much more expensive than a taxi ride!!!!! And much more than they quoted and we expected! It is not fair. I do not think we will use Uber ever again! This is not a correct company. It happened second time to us with them. They always overcharge you.

No discounts/coupons from Uber!!!

published

I have used Uber quiet alot and never get discounts/coupons to use. I have received numerous discounts offering 15%-30% off rides from Ola/Didi which makes me choose to ride with them over Uber. So if you want people to stick with Uber maybe you should be offering some discounts!!

Unpleasant

published

First time using Uber. My cat needed an emergency visit to the veterinary clinic. I didn't have a car at the time and it was noted that I needed a lift to an animal hospital, so it was a no brainer that I'd have an animal with me, but to be sure I also noted that I will have a cat with me. The driver arrives and immediately locks his car door as I was pulling it open.

I understand they may have allergies to pet fur and all, but my ordeal has left me quite sour. Rather than explaining why he's refusing me service, the man just locks his door and asks "Is that a pet?" (Mind you, my cat was in a carrier) I said "yes", And his response was "no" and he drives off, as he was pulling away, he yells at me to cancel the service on the app.

Uber is crap and misleading

published

Set up profile for personal and business. When I use Business address as location for pick up or destination, the app is not capable of auto allocating this as business and charges the personal profile only. The app also doesn't auto prompt for promotion codes. Neither of these issues can be rectified after booking. Poor app development. No way to talk to Uber. Checking out OLA to see if they any better.

Terrible

published

I’ve used Uber for a few years, but recently drivers will not turn up at the correct locations they drive around like they are lost and ignore msg until they cancel pickups and receive the fee.
I have been charged cancellation fees for pickups when they don’t even go to the correct address, I have checked the address they have gone to and it’s nothing that I have put in. When make I a complaint I receive the fee back but it’s irritating to wait for another driver. I have an excellent rating but I’m sick of it and have canceled my account

Good app

published

Uber has always been pretty reliable for me.
The app is easy to use, they link between their food and taxi service.
The drivers ETA is usually very accurate, although the drivers so often have problems with their internal GPS system which can cause delays.
All in all a far superior service to competitor Ola.

Terrible customer support

published

Their support is terrible for drivers. They simply don't value their drivers, and of course there are some dodgy drivers who deserve a bad rap, but most work really hard and are honest. Just uploading documents with the APP is difficult and support say "do this, then call back in 15mins when you have done it". So we call back in 15mins and suddenly their office is now closed for the night. They simply don't care.

I had an issue with my uber account as a driver after 2 weeks of making it, and uber decided to cancel my account without asking anything from my side. I spent over $300 to make it to that point. Worst thing is they don't provide any reason for that decision. Be careful with uber because they do whatever they want.

Uber

I am a visitor to Australia, and have established an Uber account. Most of the time it is great, but on 2 occasions there has been a problem. On both occasions the ride was assigned to a driver, and showed arrival expected within 3 minutes. On these occasions the driver was obviously at lunch, as they did not show within 25 minutes and did not answer their contact phone. On the first occasion I waited for a second driver to arrive (about another 15 mins) and a good ride resulted. On the second occasion I left a message cancelling the ride, and took a BUS. About 75 mins after the initial call I was called by a driver asking why was not waiting for him, and was charged $10 for cancelling!

I believe that it would be better if the booking was not sanctioned until the driver has actually acknowledged the request, and can then be tracked moving towards the pickup point. Failing this there needs to be a mechanism where the booking is reconfirmed with a second driver in the event of an extended delay. Ultimately the rider should not be penalised for a driver who fails to deliver a reasonable service.

Uber

Hi,guys! Can someone tell me something bad about using the uber app? Such as its inaccurate mapping or customer service. Thank you very much!

I have never had these problems. The Uber always turns up in only minutes and then takes me directly to my destination. When I needed some help with a payment I got onto the help questions at the bottom which led me to somewhere that I could contact someone. They wrote an email back.

Uber

I have just received a notification from Uber that I have been flagged for "fraudulent activity".I have no idea what this could mean, I have been driving for Uber for 3.5 years without a problem. The notification said that I had to respond to get my account reactivated. I have tried everything to contact Uber to no avail. The email address they suggets help.uber.com is not recognised by outlook.
This is also very concerning that Uber cannot be contacted in case something happens.
Does anyone know how to contact Uber now.

I don't know how to contact them if you are a driver, however, you can please answer my question. Thank you. When Uber contacts you to alert you to the fact that someone needs a ride do you have to confirm with Uber that you received their alert ?
