Service
Unfortunately, service inconsistent. Usually very good, - on time and the drivers are pleasant. Last time less than satisfactory as the driver shouted from the window and drove off. We assumed he didn't want to do a short ride to the airport.

Driver Daljeet Singh S863CAB
I ordered via app. Stated car was 8 min away. Driver called and said he was over 20 mins away and I may like to cancel and order another car. I did this as was needing to get to appointment. 30 mins later received txt saying as I had cancelled would be charged $10. Sneaky. Won't be using Uber again, there are other companies.

Deceptive, not worth the money
The app allows drivers to finish other trips while you’re waiting. This would be ok if they gave a proper estimate as to how long this would actually take. I waited 20 minutes for a ride that said it would take 10 mins to arrive. My driver suggested that during busy periods, the app should assign only available drivers as traffic and other delays make it very hard to estimate the pick up times. I agree. Its so stressful to see the mins to arrival just stagnate as you become later and later. Better just to know for sure so you can let your destination know as early as possible.

Lots of bad riders.
Been driving for 2 years. Have a 4.91 rating which was a lot higher but due some bad customers who rated me 1 for nothing.
I’m annoyed reading these reviews of drivers saying we are the worst. I’ve had customers drink in my car and eat when I’ve asked nicely not too and one customer want to take drugs.
It’s about time riders take some responsibility for their actions. We are not slaves we are working hard and our cars are out office so please respect us and we will respect you.

Utterly terrible!
All sorts of things can go wrong if you are in the business of delivering meals to people, so a customer support feature you would think is essential. Welcome to Uber Eats where if you have a problem... so what they don't care, they have your money and there is extremely little competition. There is no customer telephone number that can be found, nothing to do at all except log a help request that may be actioned sometime, maybe, possibly, in at least a few days, or so. So if there is a problem with your order, then you can just order again and get charged again... more money for Uber. Please promote competition in this industry!

Misrepresentational
This app makes it look like there are drivers near you and tells you you will be at your destination very soon, then makes you commit to a driver. Then it starts looking for a driver!! When you are already committed! And they may not be anywhere close by so you are already committed and guaranteed to be late because you have no control over who accepts the the job or how far away they are. Then figuring out how to cancel the job is a nightmare. They make it almost impossible to cancel and then charge you to cancel. Useless.

Caused my Credit Card to be cancelled beware
Signed up to this service as I thought it might be useful for keeping track of business trips I take and it integrates with Xero accounting.
On signing up and on sign on, the account kept showing up as inactive. This was annoying, but there was worse to come. Uber business use a $300 validation charge against credit cards. In my case, this caused a fraud alert and as a result the credit card was cancelled.
This is particularly annoying as all my monthly debits for my business are on this card.
I 'm sure Uber have hidden this little gem about ...Read more

Drivers unreliable to arrive - I couldn’t find how to report driver issues
1) most times I have been with friends trying to get an Uber and several drivers accept and then arrive and decline in person, or don’t decline but fail to actually on time and leave us waiting so long that we have to rebook - but always outside of the “free cancellation” time frame - so my friends keep getting charged for booking fares for drivers who don’t actually arrive. For that reason I haven’t used Uber in over a year - but I tried to get Ubers with friends and saw all this happening. We think they must profit from the cancellation fees...Read more
??? So, now, I don’t trust the drivers to arrive on time or at all. One Uber driver picked me up without enough petrol to take me to my destination. Then said he couldn’t drive me straight to the airport. I either had to wait ( & pay !!! ) for him to drive around to get gas or book a different Uber. When I booked a different Uber the second Uber arrived in 2 minutes - with petrol in the car !!! But - I still got billed by Uber for BOTH !!! (Because it was outside of the ‘free cancellation’ timeframe. I couldn’t find a way to report that drivers disorganisation. I am not a happy customer being asked to pay and wait at gas stations for Uber drivers to fill up and maintain their vehicles. 2) if I have a specific problem (one driver kept touching me and asking me to kiss him) but apart from that he did promptly arrive and get me to my exact place and wait until I was inside the venue (it was a potentially unsafe neighbourhood). I told him not to touch me and eventually he stopped trying ... but I couldn’t find any way to report that on the trip records ... so all I could do was give him a very low rating which seemed unfair to him as mostly he was great ! It was just that (culturally??? - it was not in Australia. An overseas Uber trip) he may have thought it was OK to flirt and try to seduce female passengers ???? But - it certainly made me more suspicious & fearful of Uber drivers in general and especially upset that Uber doesn’t easily allow for reporting an incident which, really, is a sexual assault :( of a very minor form. Other friends have also expressed frustration that Uber apps do not easily allow for reporting particular specific issues with specific drivers during particular trips.Similar opinion? Uber charging twice for Toll road use!!
My wife travelled from Strathfield to Paddington using M4 and CCT tunnel due to and Uber charged twice for a toll road. First, they charged CCT twice and today in M4 tunnel twice. Estimated travel cost showed $55 but the actual cost was $83. Be aware riders and be careful as Uber is charging unethically.

I can't talk to a human!
Lost my phone in an Uber yesterday evening and have spent the whole afternoon trying to contact someone in uber about it. Because of a number change I can't get into my account and the two numbers they have on there website are incorrect. Automation and technology gone wrong.

Is Uber really cheaper and faster than a Cab?
Last night was the first time using Uber, the punctuality, driver experience etc I can't fault, it was great. Our driver "Shah" was friendly and professional, he even asked us if we wanted him follow the GPS or we give directions, after glancing at the GPS, we chose directions as it was more straight forward than the GPS as it look like we were going in different directions. It was the pricing that threw me, prior to booking I compared estimates between Uber and the taxi company, there was a $10 difference in price range, in Uber's favor, for t...Read more
he same time, so we opted Uber, after selecting the car suitable for 2 passengers the price range jumped $10 matching the taxi. Puzzled I looked at the "?" and it gave a list of reasons for the jump, but price would be determined at the end of the trip, fair enough went ahead with the trip without any dramas. It cost us $33.46, on our way home we opted for a taxi, mainly as we weren't sure how an Uber driver could find us on the streets in the CBD. We were hailed the taxi in the same location, travel the same roads just in the opposite direction, in the same weather conditions (pouring rain) and no traffic drama, the trip cost $33.40. So is Uber cheaper and better than a taxi? NO! The overall experience wasn't bad at all, but was it enough for me to think UBER when we want a night out? NO! When I look at the website it did give another explanation for the jump in price... there weren't enough drivers in the area so they jump up the prices to attract more the area! I see how this will work from a driver point of view, but from a customer point of view. not so much! The irony to this.. I can point out 7 houses I can see from the end of my driveway, that have Uber drivers living there!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Non existent support for drivers even when your vehicle gets severely damaged
Non existent and arrogant support Uber provides to its drivers who literally are the working force is non existent. Rider damages your $65K vehicle in immaculate condition and Uber responds with ignorant generic message that they won’t offer any compensation even though I have to replace the entire door card to fix the damage. The damaged piece is riveted into the door card so the whole door card has to be replaced.

Uber pool bangs
So imagine you need to get back from a night out and you’re not willing to fork out $20. The tram is 48 min. Uber pool is your lifeline: $7, quick, comfortable and safe. Thank you Uber for creating Uber pool and allowing those of us with more sensitive bank balances to get back home.

No support or direct contact for issues.
I used Uber for work purposes- this means I needed to provide my work with a tax invoice receipt. Uber does not provide their paying customers with a tax invoice receipt in which they are legally entitled to. The struggle, back and forth emails, lack of communication, lack of technical support from Uber made this extremely difficult. I am yet to receive a tax invoice receipt, all paying customers are entitled to tax invoice receipt which should be sent to them as soon as the payment has successfully gone through. Super disappointed, I have had great drivers but the back end 'support' is rubbish.

They run business without any customer support. They don't have any email or number to call and inform issue.
There are many dishonest drivers in Australia, who just don't come to pick up. And as you cancel trip after 5 minutes, it will award those drivers 7.50 dollars from your account. Uber is reluctant to take any preventive measure against it. They simply have not provided any medium to complain agaist these drivers.

Toll road
Dodgy drivers these days. They don't ask you if you want to go through toll roads. They follow their gps which is highly likely set to take toll roads without you being aware. You get charged the toll knowing that they can go through a rpute which is the same duration/route

Can not believe that this company still exist in this lovely country
Ordered uber from Perth Airport to Bedford and driver was 10 min late. On arrival he asked for our ID's although my wife showed her mobile withe the details (says obviously that we been waiting for him. He asked for ID's again and I refused, he swear on us, slamed the door on our faces and left us on 40 degrees temperature. Another thing...that ride was quoted $61 and we paid Swan Taxi $42. Never going to use UBER again

Questions & Answers
Mikeasked
I am a visitor to Australia, and have established an Uber account. Most of the time it is great, but on 2 occasions there has been a problem. On both occasions the ride was assigned to a driver, and showed arrival expected within 3 minutes. On these occasions the driver was obviously at lunch, as they did not show within 25 minutes and did not answer their contact phone. On the first occasion I waited for a second driver to arrive (about another 15 mins) and a good ride resulted. On the second occasion I left a message cancelling the ride, and took a BUS. About 75 mins after the initial call I was called by a driver asking why was not waiting for him, and was charged $10 for cancelling!
I believe that it would be better if the booking was not sanctioned until the driver has actually acknowledged the request, and can then be tracked moving towards the pickup point. Failing this there needs to be a mechanism where the booking is reconfirmed with a second driver in the event of an extended delay. Ultimately the rider should not be penalised for a driver who fails to deliver a reasonable service.

Hi,guys! Can someone tell me something bad about using the uber app? Such as its inaccurate mapping or customer service. Thank you very much!

I have never had these problems. The Uber always turns up in only minutes and then takes me directly to my destination. When I needed some help with a payment I got onto the help questions at the bottom which led me to somewhere that I could contact someone. They wrote an email back.
Barb Brownasked
I have just received a notification from Uber that I have been flagged for "fraudulent activity".I have no idea what this could mean, I have been driving for Uber for 3.5 years without a problem. The notification said that I had to respond to get my account reactivated. I have tried everything to contact Uber to no avail. The email address they suggets help.uber.com is not recognised by outlook.
This is also very concerning that Uber cannot be contacted in case something happens.
Does anyone know how to contact Uber now.

I definitely dont know how to contact them, i want nothing to do with them
I don't know how to contact them if you are a driver, however, you can please answer my question. Thank you. When Uber contacts you to alert you to the fact that someone needs a ride do you have to confirm with Uber that you received their alert ?
