Clearly accepted a ride on another app at the same time. Tried to make me pay cancellation as he drove further away.
Accepted a 2min distant ride (city location), then drove 20 mins away and Tried to make me pay cancellation. It was clear he accepted a ride on another app, which is fine, but then held me at ransom for the cancellation fee. This process doubled the wait time on a simple fare.

Rude arrogant Uber driver
I requested a Uber driver to pick me up in the morning. When the driver arrived ( a Portuguese national) he did not greet me but first he told me when I entered his unclean car to put my office bag on the floor. Then he asked me to fasten my sit belt before I could get settle. As I was holding a coffee cup (fully sealed), he asked me to be careful not to spill the coffee in the car. I told him I'm an adult and I know how to behave in a car, he replied that it's his car and he sets the rule. I told him just drive which he refused and drop me off...Read more
on the road. He was utterly rude and patronizing and with a big ego driving a nasty car. I was stunned by his behavior and complained to Uber for his rudeness. I hope Uber is more careful in selecting customer friendly drivers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't give a damn about drivers ...stay away
Their ranking system gives full control to uber and the riders but the person at loss is always the driver.
Uber only cares about the bottom line and does not give any care about the people who are actually delivering the promised service.
And worst if all when you call the support only stock standard responses provided

Driver cancelled order and i was charged $10 cancellation fee???
I ordered an uber with pick up point clearly stated to the driver, but he parked the opposite side of the road and i have to walk across the road in a raining day. I only used 1min to cross the road and walk to the car, and the driver just cancelled it without noticing me. The most disgusting part is i saw $10 debit for cancellation fee from my bank account the next day. So thats how the uber drivers make money?

Best in Melbourne
After a horrendous and expensive start with 13cabs in Melbourne we switched to Uber. Quick to arrive. Lovely helpful drivers and cost was very reasonable. Can’t say anything negative about them

Avoid Pedro Victor.
Second time in Sydney, usually had brilliant uber drivers except for one today. The first I had today was honestly the best driver ever and called me when unsure on location. The next driver texted me to go to a location furthest away from my pick up spot. I am very unfamiliar with the city so struggled finding the location. When I arrived at the location the driver literally drove off in my face. Very bad communication skills and a genuinely rude human.

Unapproved Surge Charges
I have used Uber extensively for business in Australia.
Recently I used on vacation in Paris on New Year Eve, accepted the quote as usual then after hitting delays I received the receipt and was charged a surge of double the quote.
For business Uber was my preference because I believed I never had to worry about which direction the driver takes - the cost is set. It seems I am wrong.
Customer service Australia is no help.

Cannot find info, can't get in contact
Just had ride rejected as baby requires a car seat. Made me miss my appointment.
Tried to find information regards Uber and baby seats.
QLD gov site *seems* to suggest 'ride-booking services' (surely Uber is) do not require child constraints
Cannot find anything on the Uber site regards this. No phone or contact details AT ALL. So useful

Rip off
I accept pool means sharing. But when the trip takes you in the wrong direction AND charges you for the toll because of someone who gets in the car after you.

Customer Support
After raising an issue 6 months ago, nothing has been corrected or resolved, customer service replies misleading and continually wrong. I've been given dates for when the mistake will be corrected none of which have been keep. Just a pathetic organisation that continue to advertise their services with a known fault

Uber kenya review
I've been using uber for longest time ever, but my experience in my home country Kenya was the worst. I requested for ride and if call the drive, they ask you the location where you are and you had to guide them via phone call to your destination and to where you heading to and if the drive feel that it's not favourable to his liking he ask you to cancel. The GPS doesn't either work well either or the kenyan uber driver needs more professional training. Many of time i had to cancel my trips. Some drivers even stated that if they take you to certain area they will not find any request within the area. It was so stressful experience

New Scams from unscrupulous drivers - Cancellation fees and Cleaning fees
Perth WA
I have been hit twice in the last month with what appears to be trending scams from unscrupulous uber drivers. i have spoken to a lot of people who have had it happen to them. it's happening too often to be a mistake.
Long stories but keep with it. I have added what i did in each situation to get the issues resolved.
1. I was on my driveway and watched on the app as the driver sat around the corner. He then started moving and i watched him as he drove past the end of my cul de sac and then off to the freeway and on his merry way. W...Read more
hen I tried to cancel in app, it told me i was going to be charged $8 for a cancellation fee. I called him through the app and he picked up and put it straight down again. subsequent calls then went straight to voicemail. - My personal thoughts are that they are taking on an Uber trip, Staying close by in order to trigger the cancellation fee, then taking on an OLA or DiDi ride. My solution.... I left a voicemail telling him i wouldn't be paying any cancellation fee and that he will need to cancel the ride from his end (i left a few choice words as i had had a couple of beers - maybe leave this step out...). I took screenshots of the app at regular intervals of him disappearing into the sunset just in case i needed proof. make sure you have the time showing in the photos. I ordered an OLA and I just let the uber driver keep going. He can't take on another Uber trip while mine was active. Eventually he had to cancel himself after about 40 mins. What you need to do is keep an eye out because as soon as he cancels, the system assigns another driver for your trip. When you get your notification that another driver is on the way cancel immediately to avoid another cancellation fee.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not good.
I took an Uber and they charged the amount to my account which was fine. Then the next day they took the same amount out of my card again, so they double charged me and I have been struggling to get my money back. I am very unimpressed with the quality of help they are giving me and now I have been charged twice for one Uber ride.

Exploiter of Drivers and Unjust Company
It is very disappointing to work as a driver partner for Uber.
I find Uber as a company very arrogant, a bully, inconsistent with their drivers partners policies and an exploiter of their driver partner for their own selfish goal as a company.
Uber approach of treating drivers is that ‘ is there way all the time and no other way ever when there approach is unjust to drivers.

Driver cancelled on me, then I get charged a cancellation fee
I booked an Uber and the driver cancelled on me. Then I see a charge on my account for cancellation. Absolute garbage. I will never book Uber again after this experience

Impossible to contact
Trying to change credit card details as current card is no longer valid. This has been impossible to do. I keep getting prompted to sign up to a $5 site Just answer which if you don't cancel within a time frame it continues to charge $60. Think I will just cancel my account and go back to catching a CAB

Questions & Answers
Mikeasked
I am a visitor to Australia, and have established an Uber account. Most of the time it is great, but on 2 occasions there has been a problem. On both occasions the ride was assigned to a driver, and showed arrival expected within 3 minutes. On these occasions the driver was obviously at lunch, as they did not show within 25 minutes and did not answer their contact phone. On the first occasion I waited for a second driver to arrive (about another 15 mins) and a good ride resulted. On the second occasion I left a message cancelling the ride, and took a BUS. About 75 mins after the initial call I was called by a driver asking why was not waiting for him, and was charged $10 for cancelling!
I believe that it would be better if the booking was not sanctioned until the driver has actually acknowledged the request, and can then be tracked moving towards the pickup point. Failing this there needs to be a mechanism where the booking is reconfirmed with a second driver in the event of an extended delay. Ultimately the rider should not be penalised for a driver who fails to deliver a reasonable service.

Good suggestion. This is a review site and Uber don’t reply here. What response did they provide when you contacted them directly?

Hi,guys! Can someone tell me something bad about using the uber app? Such as its inaccurate mapping or customer service. Thank you very much!

I have never had these problems. The Uber always turns up in only minutes and then takes me directly to my destination. When I needed some help with a payment I got onto the help questions at the bottom which led me to somewhere that I could contact someone. They wrote an email back.

I have just received a notification from Uber that I have been flagged for "fraudulent activity".I have no idea what this could mean, I have been driving for Uber for 3.5 years without a problem. The notification said that I had to respond to get my account reactivated. I have tried everything to contact Uber to no avail. The email address they suggets help.uber.com is not recognised by outlook.
This is also very concerning that Uber cannot be contacted in case something happens.
Does anyone know how to contact Uber now.

I definitely dont know how to contact them, i want nothing to do with them
I don't know how to contact them if you are a driver, however, you can please answer my question. Thank you. When Uber contacts you to alert you to the fact that someone needs a ride do you have to confirm with Uber that you received their alert ?
As a driver you should be using either their contact phone number or their app or their local hub.
