Hi Margaret,
Hopefully you will find the solution in the Q & A section if you trawl back to 21 September '17. where several reviewers have responded to Keith, who also had this problem.

Hi - my main phone doesn't work and says it is out of range and check base power. Now reading the manual this relates to off-hook. I have put the phone back on the hook, unplugged for 5minutes, etc etc the message still comes up. Any tips?

Sounds like your Battery is Flat.Your Base needs to be Plugged into your Power source to Recharge It.

I have three different questions.
(1) The SSE35+1 box explains that extra handsets can be linked in with the two in the box. What is the product number for additional Visual Impaired handsets.
(2) Does the extra (+1) handset in the box have its own separate charger, or do you have to charge both handsets on the same basestation.
(3) This question is a repeat of the one asked by Mky on 15 May but which you didn't really answer ... Can you turn the speaking announcements OFF, even if you have caller ID. You seemed to answer by telling Mky that if he wanted speech announcements he'd have to talk to his provider ... but what if you just want to shut the speech announcements up?! Can you do that?

Many thanks

Is the 2nd handset connected via telephone cord? And, I want to get a 3rd handset. We have NBN here and I read where it is DECT compatible, so should work okay?

Hi Gary
The handsets are cordless, the bases which connect to the telephone line, will support either single or multiple handsets. I have no information regarding compatibility with the NBN.
