What have they done to Protadog?

published

I am another disappointed and now ex-buyer of 3kg Protadog rolls. I agree with complaints already expressed. After the first soggy purchase (chicken) I stayed with the product, trying the beef and lamb, thinking I had just found a bad batch. My dog and I were not happy with any of them. They dripped liquid on my kitchen bench and in the refrigerator. Had to throw them out.
I don't want a reply from the company. The bland responses to previous posters give no assurances that things are going to improve and have left an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

Purchased in October 2020.

Poor quality

published

It's little value for a company to say "ring us" to discuss your negative comments, and then when you do all you get is a recorded message. The solution lies in the first place of providing a good quality product and maintaining a high standard.
Perhaps to answer as to why the quality has deteriorated so much in the companies own description of the new owners "In November 2017, it was announced QPE had sold Real Pet Food Company to a new group of some of Asia Pacific’s leading investors.' Chinese investors ?
Give this product a miss as it is no longer Australian owned.

Protagonist Dog Roll issues

published

Agree with other posts that the Protadog roll is now slimy, smelly and generally unpleasant. Not sure why as it used to be a good product. Guessing that profit margin may be the cause.

used to be good now smelly and watery

published

After using protadog dog food for years it appears they have changed their processes or quality control. I have tried two different rolls, green and orange,in the last two weeks.
Both types have a watery feel and smell disgusting. My dogs which eat almost anything have refused to eat it. I have had to throw out both rolls. As a result i will not be buying anymore the product unless it returns to the quality it once was.

Awful

published

I have used this product for 18months but recently it has changed. When you cut the roll water squirts out. This makes the roll slimey and goes off very quickly. My hands smell after touching it. It is not appealing in anyway to what is conveyed on the lovely label. I don’t consider this value for money when I have to throw most of it away. Is it because water is added to weigh more begs the question? Changing brands is the only option

The right to repair: which brands are making it easier for you to fix their products?

I would like to know VIP's reason for continuing to sell a product that has made many dogs ill, when the same product never used to. Also, the standard answer of "we are sorry our product doesn't meet your expectations, we take all reviews seriously and are working to remedy the situation", doesn't wash any more. So please can you actually be honest in your replies and actually admit the real reason for the abhorrent quality of your product?

In my opinion the VIP dog food is not the best that you can buy for your pets. Fresh meat is best. Try chicken necks, dogs love then, and they are cheaper than the pet food rolls of unidentifable stinky contents .
