Try other methods first
I used vetpay back in 2017 had no dramas besides one payment missed and I fixed it up the next day only to find out tonight while my dog is in extreme pain that they won't touch me due to that one issue that was fixed up in under 24 hours

An extremely unethical and unprofessional service
Seriously don’t waste your time
This business needs to be shut down immediately!!!!
I applied for the first time last year and was rejected immediately with only a scripted email with no reasoning. After calling and making a complaint I was then approved. Their fees and additional cost and processing fees were not discussed and not mentioned and I only discovered this after making an enquiry as to why the balance wasn't decreasing regardless of my regular payments. I then decided after a couple of months to pay out the balance and close the ...Read more
account. I voiced my disappointment with their service and lack of empathy and left it at that. Unfortunately I have been forced into a position to use their service again today, but despite having a sparkling credit rating and score, no defaults, no current credit liabilities and an immaculate credit history with VetPay they declined my application again. After asking for a very good reason I was told by a girl that sounded like she was 10 that I was rejected due to my previous dissatisfaction. This is is extremely unethical and I would safely assume its severely against all lending criteria and legislation. I have a senior diabetic dog who’s medical requirements can change rapidly. She is completely covered with insurance but VetPay seemed like great peace of mind to have. Don't waste your time and add stress to an already stressful situation of a pet needing vet care. Do as I have done now and open a bank account for your pets emergencies or have a jar at home and drop in regular change and money to save for a rainy day. I am in the process of officially making a consumer complaint and get these despicable people to be shut down and to stop taking advantage of responsible pet owners.Similar opinion? Good concept, lousy execution on back end
The convenience of this facility is great when you're faced with the costly and unexpected situations we encounter with out fur-babies. HOWEVER, the client-service ethic needs a lot more work. The website's client account is the most ineffective I have ever encountered, and it means I am forced to call the company to find out the details of my own account - details that should be available to me when I log on and go to my account. Then, when I make the dreaded call, I end up talking to an immature, arrogant child who DOES NOT LISTEN to what I ...Read more
am saying; who PRE-EMPTS, WRONGLY, what I am saying, and who then has the nerve to tell me I AM NOT LISTENING TO HER when she is not even answering the question I asked. This is the only company I have ever encountered where I cannot see all the details of my account on my own profile. This is not good client-service. And my dread of the next time I will have to call this mod just increases all over again...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Saved my dog after an emergency
My great Dane x developed bloat late on a Sunday night and I rushed him to the nearest emergency vet in a complete state. His stomach was twisted and required immediate surgery. I was quoted up to $10k to save him and could only pay $1200 up front. The young woman I spoke to on the phone, Alanna, was lovely and compassionate with my very upset self and the process was amazingly quick and easy for initial approval- by that time it was after midnight.
I understand that I'm lucky to be in a position where credit approval was easy, but this compan...Read more

Disgusting Company
This is a very disgusting and unethical company, very money driven, has absolutely no regards for any animals, including your own. This company pretends to help by providing assistance with veterinary costs, but when you need them, they refuse to pay up, regardless of how good your credit rating is, even though at a time when you need them it isn’t important and if the situation is right, they would leave your beloved pet to die. Just look at the other reviews this company has earned. It’s a terrible thing to dangle the carrot above someone like this. This company needs to be shut down, and it needs to be ASAP, Don’t waste your time here, get a credit card, it will be cheaper and in the end, it will save your animal.

Disgusting Company
Pretend to care about animals and offer a service for the less fortunate e.g. pensions, unemployed and the disabled. Yet could not help with $500 for desexing. Disgusting.
Would not recommend!

Don't stick to what they promise
No one is going to use a payment installment service for a small $200 bill or if they can afford the large vet bill they've been given. The only people going to use this service are those who can't afford a large vet bill to be paid upfront. My dog needs a $4000 surgery, and I can't afford that upfront, but Vetpay rejected helping me, yet I have a credit score of 790. What's the point in this service if you're not actually helping people? Is their service secretly trying to have a larger percentage of pets put to sleep?

No duty of care!
My loyal mate has recently gone downhill fast and I contacted the WestVETS Marburg veterinary surgery who I've been using for about 2 years now and was told not to bring my pet there unless I could pay for an examination immediately and also I needed to have the money upfront for surgery if needed. I contacted Vetpay and they seemed really nice on the phone saying, "We understand, we care about getting your animal well again." But unfortunately those words are absolute shameless lies as they have no concern for my animal and if they even had an...Read more
ounce of decency they would provide some sort of duty of care but I guess that's what you get when dealing with big profit gouging companies. My credit rating is higher than 800 and I would have no issue covering the repayments but I just have to let my pet suffer it's out of my hands now.Similar opinion? VetPay saved my pet
My much loved cat recently needed an unexpected emergency surgery due to a punctured bowel and 2 holes in his abdomen wall. According to the vet this most likely was caused by a bite wound, we do have 2 dogs next door and our Russian Blue is a very good fence jumper lol.
My wife and I both work but did not have the funds available at the time to pay for his surgery due to the wife taking a much deserved holiday overseas for a month (which she is still on) . She took the CC & used her income for travelling expenses which left me to pay the bi...Read more

Fantastic Service
I just wanted to express my gratitude to your team.
Never in a million years did I think I would have to be needing to apply for credit to pay off a vet bill. I am a vet nurse!!
Opie needed to go to a specialist clinic and have an MRI. Luckily he doesnt need surgery and we can keep him comfortable on pain management.
But I was faced with a $3000 bill and I didnt have the money.
Having this experience from the clients point of view was humbling. There was no judgement from the specialist vet team of why I needed the loan. All the staff I spoke t...Read more

Fair and honest.
I took out a vetpay loan when our much loved senior maltese needed surgery and dental work. They were honest and up front about the costs and terms. On 2 occasions I had to change my payment day and the company were happy to help. There were no surprise charges at any time. The customer service was great, quick response and no runaround. If I was in this situation again I would definitely use vetpay.

Have a perfect credit rating 839 and no debt at all, not a mortgage not a credit card I own everything, cars a property but had a vet emergency and my vets ruthless.. it’s not about the animal it’s the money or the body.. refused credit from vetpay .. for a bill of just over $2 thou and I had $900 covered (I’d just done a heap of fencing for calves cost a heap) and two days later another $800 I had to pay off it.. they refused credit so I contacted Equifax the credit reporting people they said I had a perfect credit rating and there was NO REAS...Read more

It’s a scam run with the vets to run up charges
My credit score is 839 and to be denied by some low life pack of scumbags preying on people who want to help their animals rather than have them put down.. yeah your on the wrong side of justice. I felt when I went to them like a lowlife selling someone’s stolen stuff at the pawnshop.. low life companies are low life companies and yes I’ve reported them to the accc and business councils of Australia
Calm down ridge! We get it, they didn’t provide credit! I’m sure there’s a reason why and would suggest contacting Vetpay if you wish to get the reasoning behind the decline, as equifax can only tell you what’s in your credit file, not the reason for a decline... I also, was declined a loan recently.. by a bank (ME Bank) and my credit score was in the 700’s, and no defaults,
Credit, loans or nothing. They said I didn’t meet their criteria, but then, I was approved at ANZ. My point is, each lender has different requirements and I highly doubt they declined your animal specifically because of its breed. Just wanted to put that out there as I don’t think your review has the correct facts or has any relevance to the service VetPay provide. I’m here because I’m thinking of using vetpay, as it’s easier for me then to pay a lump sum. We’ll see how I go!
