Has anyone needed to replace the xc60 2010 model electric tailgate motor? Wondering how much it will cost please. It’s been a great so far this is the first problem.
I have just purchased 2011 XC60 Volvo and would like to display a digital speedo. Is this possible or am I limited to the analogue dial?
An auto electrician would be able to offer you something digital.

I have a 2011 Volvo XC T5 2.0 Petrol Engine- Automatic transmission.
It consumes 17lt per 100km in heavy traffice- I have to cite that we do a lot of short trips in peak hours.
Is it normal?
It sounds a little high for me. I got an email from Volvo Australia, saying that it should be around 14lt/100km...
I am using 95 octane fuel, should I switch to 98?
I have taken the car to a mechanic for pre-purchase insopection, and all was OK according to the mechanic, the car was in "perfect confition" according to him.
Any advises?

Hi there, Yes the XC60s are not so good fuel efficient on shorter trips..I get the Volvo's claimed fuel efficiency only on highway travels although I uses 98 Oct. Cheers

Hi, I both a Volvo XC60 2009 AWD D5 2.4, Automat I made a technical period. The car had test of break only on one rolls - the back wheels, while the front wheels were without rolls, during testing there was neutral gear. I'd like to find out if it could be harmful for AWD system. I drove 2000 km since tech period I didn't notice anything anxious except delicate jerk while stopping the car. I called 2 volvo services, the first one explained that impact of rolls is not significant so it doesn't influence AWD system, the second one said there should be rolls under front wheels. I'm confused and worry about AWD system, did I spoil it ? Thank you

Ideally you should have had rolls under all wheels for the test but there is a centre differential that will cope with the variation for short duratio...
We purchased a Volvo XC 60 T6 two years ago. Within 6 months we experienced a problem with sudden acceleration when we were trying to park. The car lurched forward as if under full acceleration. It has since happened one more time while trying to park. Volvo can't find any faults when testing with their diagnostic tools. We love the car but want to find out how to fix this problem. Read more rotation of the steering wheel, there may be an issue with cruise control acceleration signal. Cruise control can be turned off - see if that helps as a means of isolating the issue. I had a similar challenge with a Land Rover and they replaced the buzz-bar interface. It happened a second time in the Landie causing a serious short that blew blinker fuses. Occam's Razor, the simplest explanation is usually the right explanation. You are parking. This involves turning the steering wheel. The steering wheel is the only element in the car being used (other than brakes). You are not touching the accelerator. The T6 is a powerful engine so it only takes a slight power signal to make it lurch. QED

Read moredriving in a straight line for more than 100m. The car computers didn't show any faults, so Volvo can't aid the problem. However, it's definitely worth asking Volvo to try your suggestion. I feel the complexity and potential mixed messages due to multiple sensors may create and unintended response during slow driving when the car is hot. Other explanations could be: the mass air flow sensor; a turbo leak; or problem in the throttle position sensor. I would also like to have a data logger fitted so we can see what's happening if/when it happens again. Does anybody have other ideas?
MY14 D5 with no oil level being indicated on the dashboard menu thingy. Just a grey unselectable picture of an oil can. No dip stick in these monsters. Anyone ever noticed what happens in terms of dashboard visual indications if the oil is low?
Sorry. It is not something I can advise you on. I have never had a low oil warning. I service my vehicle once a year or as scheduled. Perhaps another reader can help.

Depends what you want. My friends had a petrol xc90. Then bought AWD xc60 demo diesel. They love it. I have xcd4 Teknik. The equivalent is the 2015 luxury xv60 I'm told. I love fuel economy. Services ...
Read moreare expensive but once a year. So do the maths pay 300 twice a year on another car... or 600 700 on once a year. Cant go wrong with diesel. Less parts to technically go wrong... I would recommend xc60. It isn't cheap. Ive yr13 xc60. 2014 2015 would be costlier digital and with possible upgrades. I guess if you have cash to burn its a good car... but you could also look at vw.... mazda and get similar for a lot less

Our 2010 XC60D5 has developed an oil leak! It appears to be coming from the oil vapor collector on the side of the turbo and drips on the intercooler tubing and from there to the engine cover. There is no loss of oil nor blue smoke from the exhaust pipes. Any ideas before I take it to the dealer next month?
I have a 2010 XC60 and am dealing with a catalytic converter issue. it is out of warranty. Has this been a problem for others? I have 95k miles on the SUV and I do not want to trade it in yet,
I traded mine at 60,000km. Had no problems.
Have a chat with your local exhaust shop, by 100,000 it will be out of warranty. They will sort it, if they know what they are doing........................its not a big issue, BM's do it sometimes as well.
My wife XC 60 is running fine but has engine warning light on.
Dealer says it is a sensor in the Catalytic converter that's causing the problem and needs to be replaced.
Dealer says repair cost will be $1500.-

Can the owners of XC60's provide an update on reliability & overall experience. Any issues so far? Size of the vehicle is right on the 'sweet spot' as far as I'm concerned & seriously considering a purchase. Only criticism I have is the lack of rear seat recline but otherwise perfect. How have rear seat passengers/kids found the size & anyone had 3 across in the rear? Cheers, Jason, Brisbane
I sell real estate and often have five adults in my XC60 D5. Colleagues have commented about the good space in the back seat and plenty of leg room. I'm 190cm tall so the driver's seat is not way forw...
Read moreard either. The car is great for round town, agile and not too big and relatively frugal on fuel. Feels like a car not a truck. Luggage space could be a little better but it's not bad and certainly sufficient with the rear seat down either fully or partially. I've had no maintenance issues really - a blown head lamp (cost to replace $50), plus re-lined front brakes (cost $1200) and the vehicle is approaching 53,000km. My advice is definitely go with this vehicle for value, economy and performance. Make sure you choose the diesel option.

Only 5,000km. Bought new. One issue with a faulty oil pump to the differential - which caused a vibration under load, but that was fixed within a day. Drove a D4 as a courtesy car and absolutely hated it. Yuk.You will love it, the rear seat is surprising spacious, everyone comments.12,000ks, not even a squeak, or a drip. Its become part of the family. Huge safety appeal.
