Can I buy a replacement lid - mine haaa stain that can’t be removed - q3100 - if so where can I get o e and how much ?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Peter, yes you can order a new lid if you would like- you can do so by calling our head office on 1300 301 290. They can give you a price there.
Before you do though, have you tried using our Weber Q cleaner on the stains? It can be left on for up to 6 hours for stubborn stains, before being washed off with a warm wet cloth.
Let us know if you need any further information.

I have a Weber Q 3100 and it does not have a temperature gaude in the lid. How do I fir a genuine Weber temperature gauge?
2 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Sail, you can't fit one in the lid if there isn't a spot for it. Your options could be to either purchase an external thermometer (like our iGrill range, Snapcheck or Instant Read thermometers), OR you can purchase a premium model lid from our head office via 1300 301 290.
I'll drill a hole in the lid and fit an after market thermometer.

What size jets are fitted in the NG (natural gas) Family Q ? It will state this on the decal on the back of the cook box. Cheers Sonny

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Sonny, are you looking at getting a NG Family Q model? We don't give out the jet sizes, but we're happy to help in any way we can if you need. Thanks
Hi, I want to convert my LPG Family Q to a NG version. I know you provide a service to complete this though it is too expensive for what is required. Thanks
Alex W.asked
We changed the gas supply to our Weber from bottled to natural gas via a bayonet connection as we had removed our old gas water heater. The gas takes ages to light - sometimes 5-6 minutes. I keep the gas burners nice and clean and they still look okay. This doesn't seem right. Can you advise on what you think the problem might be and how to fix it?
Many thanks
Alex
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Alex, was this change done by yourself or was it through a Weber technician/gas fitter? It shouldn't take that long to light, so there may be a leak or issue with the connection. Can you call us on 1300 301 290 and we can go from there.
Nicoleasked
Have just bought a new family q 3100 with black lid. Why would the lid handle spacers melt on the first use? My previous bbq was another family q with beige lid that never had this problem.
1 answer
Never had the black lid and never had this issue either. I’d contact Weber immediately.
All the best at sorting your issue.

Hey i have a 3100 and i need to replace the burner tubes, will the burners from the 3200 fit?
3 answers
From what I can tell, the only major difference between the 3100 and 3200 is the thermometer... so I’d say that the burners should be interchangeable
I agree with the previous should be the same
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jess, yes it will fit as the burners and cookbox don't change size from the 3100 to 3200. Hope that helps!
Nicc77asked
Can I use an 8.5 LPG cylinder in my new Q3100 Family Q LP Gas BBQ?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Nicc, yes. Our barbecues take from 4.5kg gas bottles to 9kg bottles, so an 8.5kg bottle should be sufficient to fuel your Family Q. Thanks!
Smeeasked
How long to cook a 5kg rolled pork on the webber familyq
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Smee, it's best to use the 1-minute-per-millimetre cooking method. To do this, you measure the thickness of the meat, and cook for that many minutes. I.e. if the thickness was 40 millimetres, then you would cook for 40 minutes, etc. I hope that helps you! If you need any further tips, give us a call on 1300 301 290 and we can help you.
Ianasked
Have new Q3100 and assembled it myself. Can't see how to put AAA battery in igniter. What am I not seeing?
Ian
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Ian, thanks for getting in touch. If you have the Q3100 (with a lower lid and no thermometer), then you will have a standard Piezo igniter (red, single push ignition) and there is no need for a battery behind the button. The battery is only required in the infinity ignition igniters on the 3200 & 3600 barbecues. Hope that helps!
Nccasked
An 8.5kg gas cylinder doesn’t fit what size cylinder works on a Weber Q3100?
3 answers
I have an 8.5kg cylinder on mine and it works fine :)
Of course an 8.5kg cylinder will fit. You screw the regulator into teh POL fitting like any other BBQ. See image: https://d2et5jvk71v0ix.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Weber-Q3200-c.jpg - note that the thread on gas bottles is LEFT HAND (reversed from normal), in other words you rotate the locking nut counter-clockwise to tighten it into the cylinder.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Ncc, our barbecues take gas bottles ranging from 4.5kg to 9kg, so an 8.5kg cylinder should fit. Ensure that you have the right fitting and that you're connecting the bottle with a counter-clockwise turn, rather than your regular clockwise turn. Hope that helps, and if you have any issues, please call us on 1300 301 290. Thanks
Deepti Hasked
I recently purchased the Weber Q3100 family barbecue and have been trying to assemble it myself. But at the moment I am stuck at coupling the wheel and it's rod!! So Weber has provided a pin which is bent and hence both ends of the pin are on the same side and this is supposed to be inserted through the hole provided on the rod. Inserting both ends of the pin (as shown in the assembly manual) seems just impossible. :(
Unfortunately I cannot post pictures of the rod and pin.
Any help/suggestion appreciated?
Thanks,
Deepti
2 answers
Deepti I expect by now you have worked it out?
If not its only the straight part of the pin that goes through the axle. The the part with the bend goes on the outside.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Deepti, did you manage to work it out? If not, please call us on 1300 301 290 and we can walk you through it. Cheers!

Hi, my wife just bought me a Q3100 for my birthday, however I have just assembled it to discover that it doesn't have an inbuilt thermometer like the Q3200. Can I swap lids and put the 3200 lid with thermometer on it? I just don't want the hassle of dismantling it to return it for exchange. Cheers, Peter.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Peter, yes you can swap the lids over as the cookbox is the same size. You will have to purchase a new lid through us though, unless your specialist dealer is nice enough to swap it over for you and you pay the difference. Let us know if you still need a hand- 1300 301 290. Thanks!

Yes, it can be done, you just need to get the new ignition kit from our head office. If you email [email protected] or ring 1300 301 290, we can organise this for you. Thanks again!
Nick Rasked
Hi just wanting to take my webber family q tomorrow best way to transport it? Thanks
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Nick, thanks for your question.
It doesn't come apart from the stand, so ensure that you've got enough space to have it standing up and secure whilst you're travelling. I would also recommend cleaning it before transport to avoid spills.
Disconnect it from the gas bottle and ensure that if you're bringing a gas cylinder with you, then you're observing proper gas safety (i.e. gas bottle turned off, not lying down on it's side, etc).
Thanks

Can a temperature gauge be fitted to the lid of a WeberQ 3100?
2 answers
No I believe there is a premium model that includes this
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Maus, thanks for getting in touch.
We don't recommend that you try to fit a gauge as this would involve damaging your lid and voiding warranty. If you need to monitor temperature, we suggest that you use a hand-held thermometer or a Bluetooth thermometer that can give you readings from your smartphone (like our iGrill range).
Alternatively, if you are desperate for a thermometer in the lid, you can purchase a premium mode lid from our head office for a charge, and we can send it out to you.
The number you need is 1300 301 290.
Thanks for getting in touch.
