Are you sure the bottle is full clean the jets if it is and see what happens

Not sure how it's going now, but the best thing to do is to make sure that the entire burner tube/s are completely clear of any debris - go along with a metal paper clip to ensure each hole is clear so that the full amount of gas can flow through the unit. The flames should be consistent in size the whole way along - if not, there's a blockage so clean again.
If it's not that, best to call Weber Customer Service on 1300 301 290 to go from there.

Family Q Standard (Q3100AU)

We are thinking of buying a Weber. We would like to know the difference between the Family Q 3100 and the Q305.

The Q3100 is the newest model. If you look at both pictures they are identical except for the gas bottle placement and
also the front plastic attachment cover is not there on the Q305.
Maybe the price has been reduced as it would appear that some of the components are made in China. If you google
"Where is the Weber BBQ made" you will see there is a class action in process at present in the USA because of where
Weber was actually manufactured.
My main concern would is who actually designed the Weber as it's extremely difficult to assemble.

Hi there - the Q305 is the older style Weber Q, with the Q3100 being a part of the new model Weber Q's released last around 18 months ago in Australia. It's true the new model Weber Q's being sold are now manufactured in China, but the quality is every bit at the level it was before, and the warranties are all still the same being a limited 5 year warranty. Talk to anyone who owns one, no issues with build quality whatsoever.
The main difference in the model updates, were the grill coating is now a thicker porcelain enamel finish, and the trolley has been completed redesigned with storage for hotplate, and trivet under the trolley, and the gas bottle holder fits every type of gas bottle now. The tool holders are also now at the front of the unit, allowing you to leave things hanging there while putting the cover over the unit.
Hope that helps.

Why is there no thermometer with the Weber 3100? Do I have to pay extra for a thermometer?

Hi there - you're correct the Q3100 does not come with a thermometer in the lid. The Q3200, which only available through your locally owned Weber Specialist Dealer, does come with one in the lid.
Both units work exactly the same way, and can cook exactly the same food. The only difference is that the Q3200 does have a higher lid, that does allow you to cook larger cuts - typically this only really applies to really big Turkeys, and Christmas Hams.
The temperature on the gauge is not referred to in any of our cooking instructions, we only talk about the settings on the control knob.
Also, more important than the air temp in the unit, is the internal temp of the meat that you're roasting.... a meat thermometer is the best way to check when your roast meats are cooked through to your liking.

Family Q Standard (Q3100AU)

Hi, I own a Q3100 ( no thermometer) and would like to know what is the max internal temperature it can reach? I would like to bake some tarts that require a 350 + temperature for just 8 minutes and wonder if I can use my Weber for it . Thanks.

HI Miguel - do you mean 350 F or 350 C? The Q3100 will reach very high temperatures, hot enough to crackle pork for example, but the exact temps will vary on any given day as the conditions outside vary - wind, ambient temp, humidity - a rough guide though would be around the 300C mark on HIGH with the lid down for around 15 mins.
The best thing to do is to give it a go! Check out the videos at www.weberbbq.com.au - we cook pastries etc on the Q with great results.

Family Q Standard (Q3100AU)

Hi we used our Weber Family Q for the first time tonight with the optional hot plate. The coating on the hotplate came off with the food. We now have a silver patch on the hotplate and we've eaten this coating. I assume this isn't normal, can you please confirm? Thanks, Kevin.
