Cancellation night on impossible
Do not sign up! it is a rip off, they keep taking money off your card without asking and then won't accept email as a form of cancellation... apparently due to privacy... beats me...? besides that it isn't what it is made out to be.
My recommendation is that you don't sign up as it is a. not worth it & too hard to cancel. Opt for one that works better and has a money back guarantee, in this day of modern technology it is not too hard to find a better company to work with. :)

Expensive and left in your own
My membership is about to come to an end. I was doing well for the last few months, then they closed my group meeting, making it difficult for me to attend. I changed to online only, but then in October they changed branding to WW and the app changed. As I have an older phone I couldn't use the new app, only the old one which doesn't get updates. I contacted them but no real help was offered. They are happy to take your money, but not really assist you after that. Also they have gone all new age into mindfulness etc rather than concentrating on...Read more
actual weight loss and the program is becoming complicated. October 27th 2022 Update: Expensive and self serving I have been a member on and off for many years. Years ago I lost 30 kilos and became a lifetimer which means you never have to pay a joining fee again. I have joined the new program a couple of years ago but no discount given. Once you get to goal you are pretty well on your own with little support. Meetings are aimed at losing weigh, but nothing to keep you there after maintenance. As a member recently they rebranded and closed many meetings. The app stopped working on my older phone. No refund offered. The problem with this company is they regularly rename the program but it's the same. Expensive app and stops working if no longer a memberSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ok
Program worked and I lost 17 kg in first year. Then I plateaued for 12 months. Then they changed the programme and I still plateaued. I have just discovered NOOM and am finally losing again. I am very active burning 2700 calories most days and 23 points was just to low for me I understand that now. Pleased to have found another way.

Cannot cancel 12 month membership!
Do not sign up! It’s not possible to cancel a 12 month contract. This used not to be the case and is a complete rip off.

All they want is your money
Wanted to cancel my membership after doing the program for my contracted 6 months, but because one payment came out late they said I need to pay for an extra month so had to pay for 7 months

Amateurs
These “team leaders” are not trained dieticians. Cannot understand how they’re allowed to give dietary advice,
My experience with ww disappointing. Only lost weight when I went to a professional.

Sneaky marketing, nothing new
Program was as restrictive as usual. Doing better on my own. It seems the Australian program is more restrictive to UK/AUS but you don't really find that out until you're signed up.
Plan was marketed as "try for $30", but of course there's a minimum of two more payments of $35.

Zero point foods
I liked having 30pts Now 23pts is a struggle unless eating lots of zero pt foods which i find can limit my weight loss

terrible food
I am not a weight watchers member, but tried there chicken and mushroom fettucine absolutely terrible, four pieces of chicken,6 peas, hardly any mushroom, and the sauce you had to eat with a spoon.
Normally cook my own food, but husband in hospital, and thought after a long day at hospital would try a frozen meal.
Believe me never again!!!!

They are heading in the right direction but not there yet
I was a member of the online program for 4 months. Reading the bad reviews on this site gave me a great insight into potential cancellation problems so I called and cancelled my membership 6 weeks before my contract was due to end and so far so good. Hopefully no billing issues when my contract ends in 2 weeks!
What I liked about WW is that the program actually works. I ate freely from the zero points food and counted all my other foods and so I naturally found myself eating more lean protein, fruits and veges. I've lost 11.5kgs in the last ...Read more
14 weeks which is miraculous for me. I've struggled with my weight for 7 years and every other diet I've been on, I've lost anywhere from 3 to 12kgs but then I've put it all back on and some more when I'd fall off the wagon. After doing WW for 4 months, my appetite has actually changed so much and I don't get as hungry and I don't crave junk foods like I used to. It's really quite incredible. Because I ate freely from the zero points foods, I was able to follow an intuitive eating type program, listening to my bodies cues for hunger and fullness. I was really attracted to this idea that WW embraces a holistic wellness and is not just another diet where you restrict calories and deprive yourself and inevitably trigger binge eating. But I really didn't see much of that in actual practice which leads me to what I didn't like about the program - the community. WW have their own facebook type app called Connect. At first I did find it inspiring to see the weight loss success stories and see that the program works. But then when I was on there all the time I could see some really toxic themes. Firstly there is a lot of fat shaming. People posting about how disgusting they look in their before pic or how they're 'never going back' to their before weight and people talking about how great their life is now that they are thin. (As though all of their problems just magically disappeared). I eagerly waited for someone to say something like 'oh you look great in both pics hon' and not once did I ever see this happen. And then there are these constant posts from people boasting of how much weight they've lost and the desperate measures they are taking to lose it and really it's just the same rubbish that every diet company pushes. This ridiculous idea that we will somehow be happier if we are thin and it's all one big rush to get to that place. They really need something in place to raise their communities ideas to a higher level and to this idea of wellness that they say they aspire to rather than this archaic 'fat is bad' view that they promote. And of course it goes without saying that, with beliefs like this, most of their members are gaining all of the weight back and then returning to the program, again and again. So I tried not to expose myself to Connect very often but then it's a lot to pay $38 a month for a meal tracking apps so thankfully I found the app I Track Bites and I am just using the free version and it has been really good so far. I'm going to buy a few of the latest WW cookbooks because that is something that is REALLY good about WW, their recipes. So many great, simple, quick to cook, delicious and nutritious meals. Life changing. The other thing I like about the I Track Bites app is that you can manually adjust your points value. I'm not sure how many other WW member has ever tried this as everyone seems to be obsessed with eating the least, but I found that I can still lose 0.5-1kg a week on 45-70 points a day. I spoke to an online coach and she said I must be tracking wrong but I assure you I am not. I'll adjust it back down to 26-32 if my weight loss lows down but it has been 4 weeks now and I feel great. Mind you, I'm not eating junk with the extra points, just larger serves of healthy complex carbs and nuts. i genuinely hope WW do evolve into this Wellness Works program but they are nowhere near that yet from my perspective as an online member.1 comment

Locked in to 6 months
You are locked in to a 6 month contract. I just wanted three months. Over $600.00 plus the food purchased ended up being a very expensive process for pretty much paying to get weighed in every week.

WW Foods from Supermarket
Tried the WeightWatcher food (Beef Hot Pot) sold at Foodland, In 1 word terrible. Made in NZ with imported bits, sent to AU and sold here in boxes that have great looking pictures, but the contents does not match. the taste from the sauce is great, but the contents is simply mush, with 3 pieces of beef that was like chewing gum to eat, Do not waste your money on these WW foods.

Expensive, good psychology but awful plan now
At nearly $80 a month it is very expensive. The points plan was great until they introduced the points free foods. Many of these foods are very high in calories, so having lost weight on the old program, I then gained weight. Of course one can’t break the contract. The face to face meetings were great and the psychology part is great. Ww frozen meals are awful. I now use Youfoodz which is fantastic. Track using MyFitnessPal which is free.

It isn't worth your money
Weight Watchers gives you perfectly boring and dull food you could get for yourself at the supermarkets and whip up in ten to fifteen minutes. I tried it for my mother and she thought it wasn't worth the money. Really, all you have to do is pop down to the shops, instead of paying $30!

OnlineApp is a Rip-Off - DO NOT JOIN
The online app is difficult to navigate and extremely time consuming. The help they offer is not much better. Have made a call directly to WW to cancel & was told I still have to pay for 3 months. DO NOT JOIN THIS TERRIBLE PROGRAM!

Love Weight Watchers Program - don't love the payment program
Weight Watchers is an amazing program for weight loss and management. I absolutely love the app, it is really fun to use! I've lost 6 kg in 6 weeks without exercise (they do recommend exercise but I have a foot injury) and it was super easy. The only issue I have is that they take payments from your account not at the start of each month, but 2 weeks before the start of each month. They are really inflexible about letting you change and cancel your plan etc. Customer service needs to be better, but the overall program is great.

Obvious rip off
I had a similar experience as others; signed up for three months on a special deal and then discovered in the fine print they will continue with taking money out of your account after the three month period until you notify them-only noticed when I checked my bank statements. Asked for a refund (as we were only one week into the month) and was refused by a condescending operator who was sorry I didn't read all of the information. It's an obvious marketing ploy, deliberately making the paperwork as arduous as they can so people don't read all of the fine print, I will never be back or recommend them to anyone.

Disappointed
They are helpful at first, but once they have your money, they don’t care. I’m very disappointed in their customer service.

Absolute rip off
I joined weight watchers online 1 month free but I found the app hard to use and not very helpful. So I asked if I could cancel my subscription they said I couldn’t because it was a 5 days cooling off period not 14 days. They have ripped me off for 3 months subscription. Should have realised it was a scam but I’m desperate and I thought it would help. No such luck.

Oh and I just wanted to add on that it's really wrong that WW (and their members) promote so many recipes and foods with artificial sweeteners. That is not 'wellness'.
