Zodiac VX55 4WD

I’ve got a Zodiac four-wheel-drive pool cleaner it’s about six or seven years old now yes it has had a few faults through its life but it’s even still cleaning the pool with one of its wheels broken off it’s like a terminator that won’t give up and I must admit if you take the time to go to Zodiac at Weatherall Park and sit in the reception they always fixed the pool cleaner for me without charging me I thought they were amazing even though the product does have a few faults there after sales service for me over the last couple years has been faultless

what size microns is the filter cartridge that comes with the standard 55 4wd as the fine dust seems to be blown out the back i have looked at owners manual and it dosent say

Handles leaves etc very well but fine dirt isn't it's strength.
If you get a lot of dirt it would be best to pick a different type. We had a barracuda suction cleaner which was must better for dirt. Great for leaves, sand and other small bits but would consider something else for dirt.

Easy to use and cleaning is easy as. Would recommend to friends.

Picks up most things except long leafy things like palm fronds. Also find that fine particles are dispersed through the water by the powerful ejections of water at rear of the unit only to settle back on the floor of the pool the next day. Other than that a great machine.

Much quicker and cleaner than last vacumm . Having no hoses now is a real bonus and now having a trolley for new 4wd cleaner makes it much more easier to move around. Pool is cleaner in a quater of the time the old one took to clean. Even the fine debris are able to be sucked up now

We have a ionizer pool system This cleaner has resulted in a greater efficiency of this system,especially following rain.Our pool area is also heavily venerated. Foliage includes large elm leaves and a huge angophora, lots of bark and gum nuts. The cleaner is quite efficient, with only minimal debris remaining.

Does a very good job of cleaning the pool. Have not had to spend as much on chemicals already which offsets initial outlay. I only really use it to clean bottom of the pool -my pool is kidney-bean shaped so does not go up the sides probably as efficiently as would in a square pool

After 8 months we're really happy with the VX55. It cleans bottom and sides including the waterline really well, remote and lift system all work beautifully as advertised. The only flaws are not being able to clean the steps or pool corners (but at least it never gets stuck!), and not picking up the finer dust. 8x4m fibreglass pool.

Had a KreepyKrawly when we bought the house in 2003, tried something else when that broke then bought another kreepy several years ago.
Real issues with the KK as the hose tangles and it stays at one end of the pool.
Had the KK in all winter and then, when I pulled the cover off the pool - yuk.
So - day one, after a single clean, it's a good start for the VX55 4WD.
It does what it is advertised as doing and I'm looking forward to a few more goes to get the walls etc cleaned up more.

Good product which Zodiac stand by. I had a warranty claim after 1.5 years use, rang zodiac their technician was at my place the next day, repaired the problem and gave me a crash course in how to operate it properly to get the best benefit from the cleaner......... first class Zodiac

The other reviews of this pool cleaner are accurate - this is an excellent pool vac; I am lucky enough to be able to afford the version with the remote control and the cord that doesn't tangle. So far what Zodiac say the machine will do, it does; with the following exceptions:

Cleaning the waterline/tiles - no way, the VX55 seems just too heavy to be able to get to the waterline and has been a total failure at cleaning the walls of my pool. the ONLY time I have seen this vac get to the waterline (in the shallow end at about 1.0 m depth) was ...

I've only had this cleaner for two weeks, but so far so good. It works very well cleaning the floor and walls, it picks up/cleans up everything it comes across, but I have one criticism and that is it struggles a bit on the steps. But as I said only two weeks so I'll give it a bit more time to map out the pool area and surfaces.

I put it in the pool a few times per week and it seems to do the job of keeping the pool clean and leave the skimmer free to do the skimming. I like a lot, the lift feature. I also find the rubbish basket easy to remove/replace and clean.

Overall I'm happy with the robot and would recommend it if the price doesn't scare you away.

It works very good cleaning the floor and walls but it struggles a bit on the steps due to its size as it seems that there isn't enough space for it on a typical step. I have the 100 micron filter that helps with catching all the tiny stuff.
