Terrible customer service at Stanmore shop
A sales consultant was incredibly unhelpful and obnoxious when we visited (2/6/19) to report a repeated fault in a new bike, insisting it was “user error” without seeing the bike.

Poor customer service and communication
I ordered a basket for my bike at the 99 Bikes store in Stanmore and paid a deposit, waited 2 weeks, no call that the item has been received and can be picked up. I then went into the shop only to hear that they had already sold the basket to someone else. The guy in the shop told me that that has happened before and that it is a certain colleague who does that. I was offered to order it again and wait another 2 weeks or get my deposit back. he sales rep to go back into the computer and hand back my deposit. To order the basket was an ordeal (took just as long to order and pay the deposit as getting the deposit back) as well so overall I was very unhappy with the lack of service and communication which is a shame as this is my local bike shop and I would love to support them. After they sent me an email asking about my shopping experience and I answered how unhappy I was and why. Staff too busy talking to each other
I went into 99 cycles today with $1000 for a bike burning a hole in my pocket. Although, staff seems friendly enough, they had to be interrupted from a four way conversation to assist customers. The gentleman that was serving me then received a phone call. After he did a little dance to his ring tone for the benefit of other staff members, he took a personal call and stopped pumping the tyres on the bike I was meant to be testing to have a chat. After waiting a few minutes, we decided to take our business elsewhere.

I went into 99 Bikes after finding out they had the same prices in store as online, I was able to pickup and not have to wait for delivery.

Worst Service Ever!
Before Christmas I bought a Knog Blinder rear light from the Stanmore store. On the first ride it malfunctioned by switching off when the bike hit the slightest bump. Very dangerous when riding in low light conditions and you don’t know you have no rear light!! I consider this a major problem. The light was returned to the store and the problem demonstrated. one. Australian Consumer Law says that I should get an immediate exchange if the product has a major problem. I will never shop at 99 bikes again. It is very rare to find a mechanic like Andy at Stanmore! Amazing job, super helpful, knowledge excellent. Will go back there every time I need something.

Incredible service
We took the fold up bikes that we bought from 99 bikes, on an airplane for the first time this weekend. My husband bought soft bags from 99 bikes but the soft bags didn't work very well. So we went to the shop when we got to Sydney to get the bikes repaired (in Alexandria) which they did right away at very little cost. There was still more damage over and above the bent wheel and the flat tire that we noticed over the next few days. now looking at buying hard shells for our bikes because we loved having them with us and used them all weekend, even in the rain. We found the guys very helpful and willing to drop everything to help us. We did buy extra stuff in their shops but they still went over and above to help us.Similar opinion?
