The evil necessity is Insurance - AAMI service highlights this
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveVery attractive ads on TV, cost is expensive but what isn't - AAMI service pathetic! Since my accident
(first in decades) I have spent 16 hours on the phone, having to be very assertive to get information rather than "this is the process" for a foreign help desk. I had to follow up getting car towed from depot to repairer, getting an accessor to the repairer after waiting 5 days post quote, had to phone accessor for assistance to get status on car repair - phone lines were not an option!! No follow up in 23 days from AAMI only to tell me I was
Quality and professionalism
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveDid exactly what they promised. I lodged the claim couple of months after I switched insurer ... They still treated me as a valued customer..and took a very good care of the claim. Highly recommended.

Car Insurance - ComprehensiveAvoid AAMI at all costs! Incredibly poor performance for claims process. No longer a good/reputable insurance company. They are now the same as budget/cheap insurance companies but with an expensive price tag.
AAMI have cut corners on customer service to make bigger profits. The claims process is now self service even though you don't work for AAMI they require you to do everything yourself.
I put in a not at fault claim online, didn't get a response from AAMI for 2 weeks! I had to use self service to book an assessment appointment myself t
... Read morehe next available being late September. I put in a written complaint, it has not been resolved. I have not even received acknowledgement of my complaint. I have tried to contact AAMI by phone and have not been able to speak to anyone who can assist me. After going through their automated phone system I spoke with a poorly trained call centre staff member who continued to call me ma'am and refused to ask for support from their team leader/supervisor despite numerous requests from myself explaining that additional assistance was needed. Explaining that I was simply trying to return AAMI'S call and trying to speak to the correct person. The staff member kept pretending the phone line was bad and would go silent for what seemed like minutes at a time for no reason then they would start speaking again. They quickly "transfered" my call without letting me know where I was being transferred to. I was unable to continue with the phone call as I was extremely distressed with the treatment of myself by this staff member.Read your policies!
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveI had a really disappointing experience with this insurance company. Their customer service was unhelpful and seemed more interested in avoiding my questions than providing solutions. When it came time to file a claim, the process was incredibly convoluted and filled with red tape. It's frustrating to pay premiums and then face such obstacles when you actually need their assistance. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable insurance coverage.
Further more they want to use second hand parts on my 2021 model Ford Ranger! When confronted they told me they were actually non genuine parts that won’t void warranty. Which is completely false!
Avoid AAMI/SUNCORP at all costs !

No action after 4 phone calls and one email to deal with a claim
Car Insurance - Comprehensive- Accident 26 Oct 2022 (my fault, small scratch while parking)
- I called AAMI after accident to talk to other party's insurer
- AAMI did nothing
- Other party sent letter in January 2023
- I called AAMI
- AAMI did nothing
- I paid other party's insurance in January as no action from aami since my call.
- 26 Jul 2023 aami asked me to pay excess on my claim they did not action
- I called aami explaining them it is already settled
- I sent aami an email with proof that is is already paid
Streamlined claim process
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveYou only really know how good your insurance is when you need to claim. Unfortunately after being hit while sitting a traffic light last month I ended up having to go through just that process. And AAMI were wonderful. My car was repaired in about 4 weeks. A hire car was sorted out promptly and easily. Additional expenses were covered within days of sending through invoices. All in all they made the best of a bad situation. It was all quite streamlined. The only area for improvement was really updates but that became more of a repairer issue than an AAMI issue. Highly recommend!

Car Insurance - ComprehensiveI had appalling service from AAMI after a car accident at the beginning of June this year. I reported it online then made the follow up phone call to them, as requested. My initial contact from them was the same day to pay my excess and two days later to request a copy of the tow truck driver's statement. Then nothing. They never contacted me again except to respond to my emails, phone calls and WhatsApp messages.
After about two weeks I called to ask what was happening. The beginning of a nightmare. On hold for up to an hour each time be
Why shouldn’t you choose AAMI insurance
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveI only have a garage for one car and there is only 2 hours of limited parking on the street, they made an appointment for 5 weeks after the accident, the accident car was waiting in the garage, they did not find a solution to give a rental car, the mechanic said it would be repaired in 3 days, it took 1 month, they did not answer the e-mails at all., they saved an average of 15K because they didn't give me a car for 2.5 months, instead of paying for the cost of leaving me without a car for 2.5 months when the repair was finished, they said sorry and hung up, I thought I was living in a 3rd world country. Never believe in their advertisements, they are deceiving people

Car Insurance - ComprehensiveMy car was hit at the rear by an uninsured man whose car had bald tyres. Within days AAMI had organised repairs and a rental car for the duration. As it wasn’t my fault and admitted by the other driver, no excess was paid. The repairs took just over a week. I am so grateful that I am insured with AAMI. My car is back in pristine condition again. Highly recommend insuring with AAMI. Best customer service.

Daylight Robbery - shopped around 6 insurance, aami charged 2x the price every other insurer is doing
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveI have now insured myself with other major car insurance company for around 2k and that’s expensive already. AAMI will not price match, will not reason on why they want 5k for a comprenshive care & note it’s just inflation and how all policy is more expensive these days…. The “algorithm of risk” generates the quote but they do not take into human factors… it’s very poor on AAMIs end..... pure cash grab move

I also have confirmed with Police everything is ready including the other party details. I submitted all evidence including CCTV, car rego etc. to support my claim. Although AAMI is one of the cheapest choice, but no point to pay a insurance company that they do not want to insure what suppose to be covered. Not recommend to anyone using AAMI. Repeated refusal to pay covered claim expenses, rude staff, terrible claims handling
Car Insurance - ComprehensiveI was initially pleased with the kindness shown by the first claims team staff member I dealt with when my car was written off by another driver.
This soon turned to frustration and despair whenever I needed to follow up further issues, such as car hire, a replacement baby seat and related expenses.
AAMI only provide a general claims handling email address and phone number, and do not assign anyone specific to your claim. With wait times of ~40 minutes whenever calling to follow up, good luck getting in touch quickly.

About 80% of those responses were incorrect, clearly hadn’t bothered reading the content of my emails, and demanded (incorrectly) information that had already been provided multiple times. I received no acknowledgment of my complaint nor any feedback or resolution, and have, after waiting six weeks, lodged a complaint with AFCA about the money I’m still owed by AAMI.Terrible customer service

AAMI DO NOT BOTHER - THEY ARE NOTHING BUT AN ONLINE BOOKING AGENCY

They repair nothing, they have no AAMI assessment center, they send you to other companies that cannot be be visited in a normal timeframe & have only a limited capacity to carry out services to repair vehicles in a timely and professional manner.

Car Insurance - ComprehensiveYou have probably seen AAMI’s car insurance ad showing the foolish driver insuring with a cheap but useless insurance outfit. Then the delightful sales girl tells you that AAMI pays 99% of insurance claims. Looks convincing, but what is the real cost of their insurance; whats their real excess? In the old days you paid no excess for such situations, but AAMI gouge one excess amount from you for this uncommon occurrence, and double excess amounts for the majority of claims. Having two excesses enables AAMI to appear cheaper than other, less devious insurers. Ripped off customerRUN! Waste of time! And energy!

No one was ever able to tell me where my car was and that was if I ever actually got through to anyone because most of the time my call would be hung up on with in minutes of being answered and transferred to correct departments. In April I received an email and letter to call a number. To which I called and they had the audacity to ask me how my repairs went… when my car was never repaired and went for a second assessment as per their request. It wasn’t until May (6 months and a week later) the I received any notice that they were assessing it. Then a week later I received a notification they were finally paying me out. The fact that they treat innocent people like this is a disgrace. I have been left to shoulder the burden through no fault of my own. I have therefore been left with no option but to make a no fault claim through my own insurance company, which I really shouldn't have to do because it ultimately prejudices me.
