Waste of money
Only needed to use 3 times a year, Battery only lasted 10 minutes then had to be charged again and would take forever to charge and then on using again it would only last ten minutes so stopped using
Purchased in October 2021.

Gardenline battery
i purchased a Gardenline trimmer from Aldi and it ran for 3 yrs then battery died. Trying to obtain new battery is impossible bad customer service. so i looked on web for battery to no avail, then discovered a black and decker that looked the same $30 but when it came would not slot in the slots, so took top off the gardenline top to attatch to the new battery and the negative and positive was different so soldered to the same setup as gardenline glued some plastic plates to the side with liquid nails to hold top to bottom and bingo runs like a charm no need to buy new trimmer.
Hope this helps

Faulty chargers on Hedgetrimmer.
Five stars are for ALDI but not for Gardenline's service.
I have had my trimmer a few years now - it is great but I found the fault was with the charger - it does not start charging unless the battery is absolutely dead flat - you will notice the light stays green until you totally discharge it - it will go red then immediately change to green - once it finally goes red when you plug it in you will get a good charge.
Shame on Gardenline for not knowing this and immediately remedying it - how many customers have they not only alienated of ...Read more
their own but soiled ALDI's reputation too. ALDI should sue them for sullying their name when the fault is clearly evident - you should be able to charge a Li-ion battery at any time - it does not need to be flat to charge it. Gardenline do not deserve to be in business if they can't recognise such a basic issue and get their supplier to fix it! I've found my suppliers are always happy to fix a problem because they want to keep doing business with me. I still use mine very often but it annoys me no end having to flatten the battery completely.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Chargers and batteries
Places like battery world can replace the batteries by taking apart the old battery and replacing with new ones.
Chargers can be bought from them or try J car electronics, even hobby shops may be able to get them.
Hope this clue may help..and what about taking it back to aldi for a refund??

Gardenline battery
Exactly the same garden line hedge trimmer battery won't charge, no satisfaction from aldis. Very disappointed as I only used it a few times and the battery would not charge cannot get any response not good enough. I am pleased to hear that there are others who have had this problem and it was not just me who thought I may have misused the charger.

never trust Gardenline products from Aldi
I've had my cordless hedge trimmer for a couple years now, the first time I used it the battery went flat after 5 minutes of normal use after been fully charged overnight. Will stick with more reliable brands which have Li-Ion batteries and not the old Ni-Cad batteries in future.

Gardenline hedgetrimmer
I had the same experience as the others concerning Aldi and Gardenline hedge trimmers. It is obvious that some of the battery chargers are faulty but they will not replace them. Aldi were polite but were just stalling, Gardenline said send $41.95 and you can have a new one. I was in business and if there was an obvious product fault even out of guarantee it is was replaced. In the 19 months since we purchased the hedge trimmer we were out of the country for 9 months it was not the battery that failed but the battery charger. So we have to pay fo...Read more
r goods that are faulty. Aldi should try and hold it's good name and get rid of Gardenline as a suppler. I have bought good products from Aldi but I will never buy another Gardenline product. December 30th 2014 Update: The battery charger failed which made the product unusable. It is a common fault as other purchasers have had the same problem.( check website) Aldi Gardenline would not replace the charger under guarantee but would supply another if $42 was sent to them as with other purchasers.Similar opinion? Cordless hedge trimmer.
Went to use the trimmer for the second time (After charging the battery over night ) the battery had no power in it.I recharged the battery and tried again, but the battery seem to be dead.I am unable to make contact with Gardenline supplies and now the hedge trimmer is useless to me.I would never more buy any Garderline products and i would strongly discourage others from buying any of these products too.

Gardenline 18v cordless hedge trimmer.
I purchased a Gardenline 18v hedge trimmer through Aldi and while the trimmer itself is quite good the after sales service of the Gardenline suppliers is non existent.
The second time I used the trimmer the battery was low so I placed it on the charger and went shopping with my wife. When I got home I placed the battery on the charger and it was dead.
I called the after sales service number supplied with the trimmer and left a message on their answering machine . After not receiving a return call for two days I decided to send them an email.

they would sort it out but all they actually did each time was to put me through to the Gardenline service center and they kept telling me they would do nothing about it except offer me another battery for $25 with $15 postage. The unit retails for $49 so obviously there is no way I would give them $40 for a battery. After the last call to Aldi the Gardenline center called me back and offered to supply a replacement battery for the $15 postage cost which I accepted. The actual postage cost was $8, $7 less than they charged me and when I received the battery it had F written all over it in permanent marker and was obviously secondhand. I will be buying no more Chinese electrical goods from Aldi.agree again. Just the difficulty making contact with any Aldi 'honcho' is a quest in itself, with the bottom line being the loop back to intransigent Gardenline distributor who clearly do not want/are... not set up to deal with individuals being just a mass supply outlet of all sorts of things to chains like Aldi. At the very least, buyer beware Gardenline products! Same applies for other Chinese elec goods from Aldi especially anything in the Tevion (compatible with no other system) range. I guess ya get what ya pays for!Similar opinion? Alsies Cordles Hedge Trimmer
I use one of these things as a professional gardener. It cost me $50 and its just gone and gone and gone. It's paid for its self over and over again, I just wish I could buy a spare battery for it because occasionally I need to use it for longer than an hour at a time and there is no time to recharge it. Still, I am totally impressed.
Reliable
Need to be able to buy extra batteries for doing big jobs.

Surprised and impressed!
I borrowed one of these for the weekend to get the garden at my new house under control.... LOTS of overgrown hedges.
This thing went on and on all day! After about the 5th hedge the battery was obviously getting low,but she kept on going!
I am keeping an eye on my Aldi store, and as soon as I see they are in stock again, I'm buying one!
Surprisingly gutsy on the hard stuff!

If it's electric then what battery? Was it electric or cordless?

sponse to my complaints. What a joke & disgrace. Really disappointed with Aldi. Also defective gardenline pole pruners x2 where plasic parts holding chainbar firmly in place just wear away almost immediately. AVOID GARDENLINE PRODUCTS!!!
