It is discontinued but if you found a new one BUY IT instead of the new versions!
Very light and thin laptop. The battery life is great. It allows me to get my school work done and some light photoshop editing as well with no problem.the Retina display is really high quality. only downside was the apple care, which is too pricy!
I was looking for buying the newest versions of Macbook pro with the touch bar. but turned out the store had only one of the older version of Macbook pro with retina display. Im happy with this purchase.

What can I say? Beautiful looking laptop somewhat let down by a buggy operating system.
I have a love-hate relationship with Apple and their line of laptop and desktop computers.
Our family has the works - the iPhones, the Apple TV, the Airplay receivers, the Mac computers, the lot.
The thing about Apple products is that everything has (almost) this beautiful harmony with one another.
- I can enable my hotspot from my laptop computer without ever touching the phone (most of the time)
- I can share content from the laptop onto the Apple TV (most of the time)
- I can play music from one device to any other seamlessly.

I can move from my desktop to my laptop and all my documents are synced thanks to iCloud. The laptop looks amazing. Its powerful - no problems running anything. Its is a shiny example of industrial design. Lack of ports be damned - everything is done wirelessly these days. 802.1ac is fast. Thunderbolt 3 is the future anyway.

Worst Purchase Ever. Everything failed after 18 months
Very disappointed in this product which is a complete rip off. Purchased for my son for high school. Told it would last the full 5 years.
Issues started after 1.5 years. Apple unwilling to assist but finally did after contacting ACCC. Then a year later the WHOLE system fails!! Used for 3 years. Repair bill higher than the price of a new one! Faulty logic board, battery and hard drive.
Be warned - poor after sales. Sell faulty units and refuse to repair. My husband works for Microsoft and says these products (and apple care) are a joke.
Won't be replacing this failed macbook with another. When you spend $2000 you expect it to last longer than a year before it starts failing.
A very angry customer!
BE WARNED!

My consumer experience has been downgraded with the new MacBook Pro
I bought this after absolutely loving my MacBook Air for 6 years. A total Apple convert I was disappointed that the MacBook Air had been left behind as far as new tech is concerned so I went for the new MacBook Pro with retina display. I am disappointed not to notice any improved speed and despite double the storage I am getting the dreaded spinning colour wheel already - not sure why yet. The reason I feel I have actually downgraded my Apple experience is because this new MacBook only has 1 USB port + the charging port (actually not USB but t...Read more
hunderbolt 3 - annoyingly needing an adapter to USB!) and no SD card port. But the main reason is the clumsy keyboard. I see in a previous review a reference to butterfly keys. Don't know what that is but mine are less smooth than my MacBook Air and really noisySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

use every single day
I had never used Macbook since I started to have my own laptop. The 2016 Late Macbook is great. Super fast, pretty light that I can carry it to school in my small backpack, excellent display, perfect sound, etc. I chose the one without touch bar as it is cheaper and I think the original function bar is enough for use.

Good! Love the touchbar addon
Bought this because my MacBook Air was on the verge of spoiling and it was a good decision made. Didn't like the butterfly keys on the MacBook 12 inch but this new improved butterfly keys were smooth and provided the feel I like. Touch bar functionality is limited but cool. Hoping more programs would support it soon

Solid performing laptop that is little too expensive!
Apple has done it again with a good quality laptop that runs like a dream with beautiful crisp screen and has been updated significantly from the previous model with latest intel processor and now included USB-C connections. Main downsides is the really high price and the lack of tradition USB port (no required to carry around a dongle as a converter).

This is still very good
I have used MBP 2010, 2012 for many years, I feel satisfied with its quality.
Now my employer gave me this 2015 model MBP, it is still very good to use, HDMI post can TB(DP) ports are quite useful.
I am very happy with 2015 model than other latest models, such as 2016 and 17, because of they only have USB type-C.

It was excellent
I bought it as a birthday gift to my brother who is working on editing and making some special effect for TV commercials. I just borrow it one or two times. The color on the screen was totally correct and the processing speed is fast. There is a little problem to me, someone who used to use windows systems though.

The Best Laptop
We've been pushing our 13" MacBook Pro (2016) to its limits lately, so we bit the $6,000 bullet to find out how much faster the new 15" MacBook Pro (2017) and the results were shocking.

The early 2015 Macbook pro is amazing. Looks good and performs super well under different tasks. Whether it be photo editing or watching YouTube it performs it easily with no lag or noise.
The retina display is quite amazingly clear and super realistic.
The aluminium body around the laptop gives it the luxurious elegant look.
It looks just as good as it performs.
Amazing laptop though a little pricey.

Good enough
The Laptop is absolutely good enough
It is exceptionally fast and productive, with an overall good quality. However, I have hid issues with the screen though. This proved to be no concern, however, as Apple traded it in for a new Laptop within a day. Great Customer Service and Product!. Will enjoy it for a while

The best laptop I ever have
Simple and elegant model. Best keyboard I ever use compared with other laptops. With backlit keyboard, working at night is more convenient. Display is bright, clear and sharp. Sound is excellent and clear even though the speaker is not located at the front side like other laptops I ever used. With macOS, it is easy to use especially for programming. Highly recommended for daily and specific use.

Simply perfect
Would be the best thing that I buy, ever. No regrets at all. If you are thinking of buying a lap top my advise will be a MacBook without a doubt. I wish I got that extra cash to get the 15in but the 13in will do me just fine.

The Perfect Laptop
I have had the new 15 inch touch bar laptop for a couple of months now and have not had a single problem or glitch with it, typical Apple! I was worried that the new laptop would not live up to my old 17 inch 2010 MacBook pro, but this machine is so well crafted and works so well that to tell you the truth I no longer even notice the difference in screen size (although Apple please bring a 17 inch version out one day!).
The usb-c drives that a lot of people complain about are incredibly fast, I would never go back to the old usb drives. I ...Read more
laugh every time people mention dongle gate, its a $10 cord that will not be required in 2 years! The speakers are unbelievable, how can this great sound come from such a compact elegant case?? Battery life did seem a bit disappointing in the first few weeks, however since the update this has improved to the point where it is no longer an issue for me. The touchbar is great, I use it virtually in every application now, and I can only see programs utilising this even more in the future. As for the price, I will let you in on a little secret ...... you pay more for the best. If any laptop can maintain its performance after 6 years to the extent that its effectively performing as a new laptop, then its worth a lot more money.Similar opinion? Extremely poor battery life
The new MacBook look great but is not the fastest laptop around compared to other laptops with similar specs and has extremely poor battery life. I only manage to get 3 hours of battery life with normal usage.
The screen is excellent.
The keyboard is bot awkward to use initially but you get used to it.
Touch bar is too big and get in the way of typing

AMAZING! Love it, can't live without it
I have to admit, i had reservations about the value of the touchbar in the new MBP. The new model is super slim and is very light! The new butterfly keys are amazing and extremely ergonomic. They can make some noise however no more than the shuffle of the keys on older gen MBPs. The retina display is extremely crisp and the SSD is super quick. I have to admit the new USB-C limitations were initially frustrating however I found USB-A to USB-C all in one portable drives. This makes life easier sharing content in the office and at home.

The Laptop is absolutely fantastic!
It is exceptionally fast and productive, with an overall firm quality. However, I have hid issues with the keyboard twice. This proved to be no concern, however, as Apple traded it in for a new Laptop within 20 minutes. Great Customer Service and Product!

Super slick speedy laptop
This laptop is super fast and is outstandingly good looking. The only problems I have with it are: It is $200 too expensive and that I have to carry around a USB adaptor to connect anything to it.
The Mac OS is mostly good but there is some quirkiness compared with windows. Therefore latter on I may install Windows to overcome this if the Mac OS doesn't completely grow on me. I've found the integration with iCloud is great.

Horrible user experience
The user interface of this machine for me was virtually unusable. The keyboard was too small to type properly. The track pad takes up too much space. I could not work out how to do simple operations like clicking and scrolling. When I connected a mouse, the scroll wheel was reversed and mouse movements had latency. The version of excel would not run macros. I needed a $100 gadget to connect to anything. Everything was slow. The built in software was hard to understand and non intuitive. The screen was tiny and hard to read anything without eye...Read more
strain. I will be going back to my old windows XP, which the only thing wrong with is it takes 10 minutes to start. Complete waste of $2300 including the gadget. I am putting the MacBook back in the box, and burying it in the back of a cupboard and won't think about it again. Also very bad experience at Harvey Norman who recommended this product, and then tried to sell me extended warranty and security software, Thank goodness I at least I did not waste my money on that.Similar opinion?
