I have had a D5456 Dishwasher for 3 years its been working great all of a sudden I can't change the setting on the control panel. It seems stuck on 3 hour wash can't change the settings at all. I have tried to remove the door to have a look at the electronics and I remove all the screws and then it says to lift off but the top of the door has a flat plastic strip it seems to be restricting the door from coming away. I released the earth cable removed all the screws then it say it should just lift off but I am applying pressure and its not coming away. Am I missing something to get the door off. Appreciate any help.
The touch control panel on ours also became unresponsive. If left overnight it would work again sometimes, so maybe moisture got in, but a tradesman said it was a common problem with that style of to...

I have a D5456SS that is nearly 3 years old but now the detergent dispenser is not working and so the dishes are not clean. I believe this is a common problem with this dishwasher.
Hi
My Asko D5456ss I bought in March 2018. Has been very good. Last week for the first time I used the rinse and hold button and have not been able to change it back. I have turned it off twice waited 30 secs but still won’t work. Any help would be appreciated.
The control panel on these are problematic. I found sometimes it will not respond to touch. Sometimes cycles through wash modes in the middle of night for no reason etc. I believe that it is over sens...

My inverter microwave would almost always send it crazy until I fitted an emf filter to the power cord. I sometimes have to do the old power down up trick which clears it. Hope this helps. Thanks I’ll look into that before calling for service

I just had the same issue, you have put this comment a while back and they didn't reply to your problem at all but they have replied to everyone.
Hi. We have Asko D5456 dishwasher, new purchase. Has been great until tonight - lights turn on & able to select program however when I press start button, nothing happens. Have held button down for a few seconds & nothing. Also tried to deactivate child lock - not that it was ever set. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I think turn the power off at the mains and remove the plug. Wait at least 10 secs. But before you do this ensure you have turned the dishwasher off at its own power switch on top of the door.

Dear Sirs
My D5456 XL is suddenly not washing the dishes properly. Done all the cleaning specified in the manual, new detergent, different program - nothing seems to help. Any help?
Our machine is doing the same thing as above. At the end of the cycle, the dishes have food spots on them and there is scunge at the bottom near the filter. I have also noticed that the centre and top...
Read more spray arms dont turn during the early part of the cycle. Is this normal? (sorry to hijack your post Stephen and good luck). :)You would have it sorted now but ours was doing the same. It was a faulty pump which wasn't pumping enough water through to spin the spray arms. 150km trip to repair (rural NSW) then $370 repair job.
My new Asko D5456SS (bought on 24.10.2018) has somehow become set on child lock and all attempts at releasing it have been futile. I cannot start the dishwasher without pressing the 'HIgh temperature' and 'Long dry' buttons simultaneously. I have tried leaving the machine switched off in the hope that it would reset - to no avail. This problem seems to be more complex than I expected. Any help?
I have the same problem, followed the manual instructions, no avail then tried a complete factory reset, but couldn't get past the child lock to do it., did you find an answer?
Can anyone tell me how to program my asko dishwasher d5456XL how can I get a cycle for 30 mins on eco or normal wash. Terrible instructions book. My Bosch was easy to operate this really difficult
Is there anyway to remove food particles from the spray arm? I'm also getting grit like particles in glass on the top rack. Thanks
I haven't had this problem but I always make sure all food particles are scraped off before putting in dish washer
Morning, I'm still undecided as to whether my new asko (purchased mid year) has won me over. I've come from a cheap dishlex and thought spend more and get a great product but so far i seem to be always cleaning out my spray arms (using lots of water in the process, getting corn pieces out ), the dishes are sometimes covered in cream residue. I'm wondering if washing by hand may get me a cleaner dish, as i'm putting dishes through umpteen times to get them clean. Am i doing something wrong, is there something wrong with my machine?? I would hate to have to sell and buy something else, but at this point that's the way i'm heading.
i'm no expert, but I've never come across a dishwasher that can handle corn kernels. Your old one must have been magic. I always scrape bits off my dishes prior to washing and when that cream residue ...
Read morestarts I put through a cleaning cycle with a select brand dishwasher cleaner to remove the build up of fats and scale (about every 4 months). I've never had a problem with my ASKO (had it for about 12 months now) and I only ever have to clean the filter if the kids haven't scraped properly. I use about 2/3 of the amount of powder recommended on the packet. I just use any old powder that happens to be on special. I'm not sure this is helpful. Thanks Morrissey, thanks for your feedback, but i was referring to the filter system allowing particles i.e corn to get into the spray arms. Never had that problem before. The particles have always just ended up in the filter.
