Our buying guide will explain which type of washing machine would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Towels are like sand paper
Cleans clothes well I can't complain but towels do not come out fluffy they are more like sand paper.
I have tried all options on the programs but they still come out like sand paper.
I e-mailed Asko and informed them that I was not happy with the way the towels come out. Asko made suggestions and I tried all their suggestions but my towels are still like sand paper.
The machine was very quiet in the beginning but the noise level has increased over the year but still quieter than my old top loader.
Also I noticed that the detergent separator was missing when I purchased the machine that's disappointing considering I paid $2498.00 for it.

Problems in less than 1 year
An OK machine but does NOT live up to its brand name. Like the fact that there is no rubber ring and that its fairly compact despite being 10kg. It is also quieter than our previous Electrolux. However, the controls/functions are limited compared to other brands + the detergent tray sometimes fails to empty the water. The most disappointing fact is that we have had 2 warranty problems in less than 12 months (issue 1: door not closing easily and even after being closed, it was still leaking water. issue 2: machine was stopping half-way through t...Read more
he cycle). Both were fixed under warranty, but took a long time to get fixed. Spent almost $70 in laundromat fees, asked for a refund and was advised that Asko do not reimburse laundry costs even though the machine is under warranty. Simply not good enough for a premium brand. I also found the customer service disappointing - call key options are confusing, kept being put through different departments, no option to lodge warranty claim online, call operators sounded disinterested. I think Asko quality is just not there anymore hence $2400 for a washing machine becomes a rip-off.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ok
this washing machine isnt great, but it works to wash clothes. It has broken down a couple of times, and to fix it is very expensive. Next time I would just save up the money to buy a better quality one and that would work better as my washing machine.

Terrible Washer
This is the worst washing machine I've ever owned. I've always owned Miele for all appliances in our house and have been very happy. I was talked into buying the ASKO because it is slightly larger. The machine has never worked since the day I purchased, the water does not drain, dirty water comes back into the washer so the clothes come out worse than they went in. Buyer beware. Skip this and buy a different Brand. Customer service is also terrible.

Disappointing
I've replaced a 10kg LG front loader that wasn't performing as well after about 5yrs, with this 10kg Asko, chosen on the basis of a faultless history my mum had with a 7kg Asko for about 20yrs, in fact it's still going I believe.
I am very disappointed after a few weeks, it doesn't spin very well, tonight a light load + 2 regular bath towels & the towels came out quite wet, & I have found myself re-spinning several loads already, which I think just shouldn't be the case. Cycles are long, timer is strange, says 1minute to go & kept spinning, i...Read more

Great wash every time
This is my second Asko machine- the first lasted 17 years with minimal need to repair. This machine is really quiet compared to the old one and has many different programs to choose from. The wash does take a long Time and with the sensor drum it can often be longer than stated but if you time when you put it on then it isn't an issue. I put a load on in the evening, one before I go to bed and then one in morning if I still have washing. Easy to then hang outside. I love the 2 HR soak especially for my boys football gear which often gets muddy....Read more
I pre soak for 2 hours then a heavy wash- they come out sparking and fresh. Love it! Good wash on clothes and XL enables me to do less loads as more fits in. I wash a lot and have had no issues so far. I asked about the door which had been a previous issue but this has been rectified and I have no leakage. I managed to pick up a seconds from Asko- full warranty but had a dint in front panel. Huge discount and really can't notice in the laundry. No effect to operation ( second is previous display or it has been damaged in transit- never used). I would definitely recommend this product but it does take a long time washing.Similar opinion? Do Not Recommend
I have always used top loaders so when my washing machine of 15 years broke down I was recommended an Asko from The Good Guys. I ended up buying this expensive machine thinking it was worth the money I spent from the sales pitch I got. Took it home was washing well for 1 week then it wouldn't spin the clothes, after the washing cycle finished my clothes were saturated and then it just got worse from there on. A week later it went to Asko service agent and after 1 week they contacted us today and only to be told that the transport bolts were no...Read more
t removed which is why the washing machine wrecked. This was NOT TRUE we DID REMOVE the transport bolts and did the first cycle wash exactly like we were told and what was written in the manual. We kept the transport bolts in case we ever had to move the machine as it is very heavy (which is what the sales guy said to us at the Good Guys). We put the transport bolts back in then moved it out of the house onto the veranda so it could get picked up while we were at work. So they are now saying that the machine could have caused this damage only if the transit bolts were not removed and the machine was used without removal of transit bolts and is not covered under warranty. The machine was a lemon from the start the timer was always out, there was obviously something wrong with the mechanics of the machine. Very unhappy with the customer care consultants they did not call me back when they were supposed to and the lady was very rude DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASE AN ASKO. I will be taking this to consumer affairs.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cleans well, very quiet but does have some flaws
My whole adult I've always had top loaders but decided this time I wanted to purchase a front loader. I spent endless hours researching machines online and in store and listening to everyone's opinion. I finally called in one day to the Good Guys Loganholme Qld store and they actually had the Asko machines set up so you could actually see them in operation in spin cycles etc. This was fantastic and the salesman that served me was very helpful in explaining it all to me and assuring me this machine had all the options I required, So I finally ...Read more
made a d decision and purchased the Asko 8844XL Eco. After it's arrival I quickly learnt the salesman's product knowledge was not 100% correct and that this model Asko machine in fact doesn't have the pause/add a garment feature that I was assured it had and the door doesn't open on completition of the wash cycle. So I was quite disappointed and frustrated as I'd asked all the questions but was not given the correct answers. Five months down the track I do really like this machine but it definitely has some Pros & Cons. PRO'S 1. It's a very quiet machine 2. Huge wash capacity 3. Washers very clean & gentle on clothes CON'S 1. My big hate is the Timer is horrible!!! it's inaccurate and does not count down the complete cycle, it does sections so you never really know what part of the wash cycle the machine is in. One minute you think the machine has 5 minutes to go and then next time you enter the laundry it'll say 16 minutes on the screen. It drives me nuts as every machine I have had the timer has counted down the wash cycle. 2. the wash cycles are very long, the quick cycle is 50minutes with most everyday cycles ranging between 1.6 -2.5 hours which can be a hassle in a large family.Similar opinion? Nice but expensive
My 4 year old LG broke down and it wasn't worth the repair so we decided to buy a new one. Headed down to our local TGG to check out the latest model. We were aold on the Asko washing machine due to its outstanding looks and visible easy to use control panel. The machine is very silent and easy to operate. There was issues with the door latch but one phone to Asko and the issue was fixed. Highly recommended.

Guaranteed clean clothes
Love the 10kg capacity & clothes always come out clean. However, cycles can be extremely long (2hrs+) & the timer is highly inaccurate. These front loaders have a technology called 'fuzzy logic' which automatically adjusts the cycle's time as it detects extra suds (adds on extra rinse cycle), clothes still too wet (adds on extra spin & pump cycle), imbalance (adds on extra tumble cycle) etc. So your clothes are guaranteed to come out clean. But never rely on the timer's time!

Faulty machines. Lemons!
Purchased machine, after six weeks the computer program failed. ASKO replaced machine for a brand new one and the same thing happened. We received a full refund but poor quality machine. the service men who attended four times stated this is common with the machines. Was a waste of our time.

This machine does it all & superbly well!
Every feature you could hope for (sorry it doesn't iron, vacuum, do dishes or lawns) but as far as washing machines go, this little gem has it all (actually, not so little, it's capacity is HUGE)
i am a front loader convert after more than 30 years of top loaders. Love my asko washing machine
I have always preferred a front loading washing machine. The only feature I did not like was the rubber collar around the entrance to the drum. It always got mouldy and dirty, hard to clean.
So when I went shopping for a new washing machine I discovered that asko had addressed this issue with a new design that avoided the issue of the rubber neck. I think it's great, best design. It's very easy to use.

Reliable, quiet, bright whites, and excellent value. . .
Purchase
I purchased the Asko W8844XL ECO model approx 12 months ago from the Good Guys. I was very lucky to find this with a cash back offer and ended up paying the additional for installation. At first I was sold on a Miele7kg, but was attracted to the Asko for its great reputation, and value for money. At this price point, This unit has capacity to wash up to 10kg. Attractive option if your washing larger items, as I am. The price difference from this to the Miele10kg was thousands.
Excellent customer service from Asko technician....Read more
The representative who installed our unit, also removed our previous washer, and provided excellent customer service. He showed me how to operate the cycles, and how much detergent to use with each wash, which has probably been the best and hardest thing for me to get used to- I literally use a quarter of the detergent that I used to use and the machine does the rest! Nothing short of Fanta$tic! About the unit The drum size is excellent, with a king bed, and three doubles, I can wash all the sheets (provided they are like colours) with ease on the regular cycle, spin on 1000 and a morning to air on the line and their done. My towel wash is also done with ease, no stops, and still in perfect shape. A load will consist of 4 std bath towels, 3 mats, 4 hand towels, results are bright whites, fluffy and fresh. The spin cycle is excellent and draws the water out of the items being washed without damaging the shape of the items being washed, and on each cycle, you can choose to dial up or down on the spin, which is handy for delicates, and woollens.1 comment

This is absolutely perfect machine
I ve only had this frontloader a few day but love Ive had a few questions so I rung Asko and was lucky enough to get Quinten he was so helpful. I had a warning pop today about checking where the water drains so I gave Asko another call and asked Quinten he was business but he called me back within 20 minutes I told him what was going on so Quinten passed my details to a guy called David and I was told he'll ring you Sunday night. Well he rung me today I explained what was happening and of all things it looks like silly me has been using to much soap. So thanks again Quinten and David. If I new this was the service I would get I wouldve got one years ago

ld pipes running out the back only cold now as the machine heats the water. But my biggest compliant was the door would engage correctly when closing the door would be closed but the machine would not reconfigure that the door was closed and therefore keep asking me to close . So after pushing the door harder several time eventually would start sane problem as all the other machines I have had from Asko. Now they are changing a part in the door. Terrible however got a refund!!
Since the day we got this machine we had numerous problems, flooding the laundry, numerous door issues, leaking. We had replacements and they were faulty as well.
After numerous calls and technicians I was finally put on to Vani who organised for the machine to be picked up and a full refund given. This was the only positive.
Prior to buying my next washing machine I spoke to some technicians and they stated if I had got a smaller Asko it would have been amazing but the 10kg has numerous problems therefore stay away.
I really wanted an asko maybe in future once they refine the 10kg I may re-consider

Disappointed overall. Would not recommend.
We were happy to spend a good amount of money to get a good quality front loader. We are very disappointed. The machine leaks, The door doesn't close, I have to hold the door into position with one hand while I press the start button with the other hand to get the door to lock into place at the start of the program, and the fabric softener dispenser never empties, it's always full of fabric softener mixed with water at the end of the program, a sloppy mess! The clothes clean well and are well spun, but the numerous other issues have us feeling very disappointed.

Very quite machine . Still getting use to filling it compared to top loader . Saves a lot of time . Hope that it lasts as long as last machine . Cant believe how little water it uses and cleans to clothes as well .
Think I need a shovel to load it properly . trailing different powders for best results .

I absolutely Love it!!!
So happy with my washing machine. It's quiet and it has many options of what you want to wash e.g: towels, synthetics, hand wash/wool and etc.. it shows what temperature it's set, how fast the spin will take place and most importantly how long it will take. I am amazed, how it spins so quietly, not like my other washing machine. And it comes out so light, not heavy, the spin is powerful remove excess water from it, so it will dry quicker. So very happy with the Pro series. I highly recommend it. I just don't want to get stuck with the service t...Read more

it's own? I have to put extra pressure on it, for it to lock. Then you think the cycle is finished, but the door won't unlock, so I have to put on a rinse cycle and wait another 16 minutes, use more water and electricity for the door to unlock. Lately also when it's spinning on 1400rpm, it's like a metal brick is in the middle of my clothes and it makes a awful, clanking noise, I have to press stop to end it. I've booked a service call. Also although we have the water pipe in the laundry sink to get rid of the water, we are still experiencing a water leak all over the laundry floor. Just so disappointed, I was highly recommended this model and brand, and not even a year later, this very expensive washing machine has problems already, I only hope I am still under warranty :(Similar opinion? etergent- Asko servicing was fantastic and talked me through possible issues and sent a representative to check the unit and clear the issue - lesson to use much less detergent! The Asko washes still with low noise, and low usage of washing detergent. I run a clean cycle at least 1 per month and leave the door slightly ajar if I have had to wash with a hot cycle, however majority of my washing is done in cold water and comes out clean and fresh. If you are thinking of getting this type of clothes washer I would still recommend it.
