Made up unnecessary repairs! Quoted more than $700 to replace AC pipe and $145 to clean out the throttle because car was “idling low” - total was more than $1,000. Got the AC re-gassed elsewhere for $130, no repairs needed. Stay away, they will charge so much to fix things that aren’t broken.

Once again the Pooraka team have been able to keep my 84 Toyota running by reviving the aircon which had never worked since I got it. Always helpful and pleasant.

Auto masters Victor Harbor. Dropped my MX5 in for service and A/C regas.
They ring me after 4 hours, differential oil needs changing. OK says I, change it please. I go to pick up the car and they have charged $110 to change diff oil. “Whoa” says I, that is way too expensive. I was quoted $1600.00 to replace my caddy air con compressor, I asked how much the compressor was and they told me $1200.00, I was shocked and told them to wait30m and I will get back to them, within an hour I purchased the exact Denso compressor and delivered it to them, I got the compressor for $463.00 inc gst,
They didnt care that they were charging 260% profit on the part, or more as they have better buying power than me, state 2nd in charge was useless and kept saying $1200 is fair as its RRP, no sliding scale for mark up!!!!! QUESTION EVE...

On different occasions for repairs/servicing...
1/ An air filter clean on my OTR intake resulted in a cracked filter housing, much later on i found out as they fitted the filter back to front causing excess pressure in the box with the filter retainer bent and buckled, and also damaged the filter by jamming a screwdriver trying to make it fit.
2/ I found long deep scratches along the driver side door after picking the car up after a service once.. noticed that straight away.
3/ They fitted new disc rotors to my car.. a kit containing rotors a...
