be aware of the limitation
1. It's headless and brainless and aimless and blind and just randomly wanders around so do not expect it covers the whole pool and pick up all the leaves in a single run. I usually let it go two or three cycles until achieves a satisfied outcome if I'm at home.
2. Factory filter does not pick up fine dust but I'm ok with that. Let it stirs up and the pool filter will do the job.
3. Finer filter may decrease the wall climbing ability.
4. It climbs the wall and steps but it doesn't like to stay in the shallow water for too long.
5. I doubt it'll...

On 1st run after purchase, it worked quite well. However pool was pretty clean only with a few leaves that the captura managed to pick up and it cleaned the waterline quite well.
However on 3rd run, it does not clean the waterline anymore. Sent an email through baracuda website before xmas and got no response.
After xmas, ran the captura once again and its performance just keep going downhill. Not only does it not clean the waterline anymore, it now requires 3 cycles to pick up everything on the pool floor. Sent them another email recently ...and after still no response. If I could rate them negative I would with the non existence after sales service. I would not buy another baracuda / zodiac product ever again and will advice the same for everyone else.
I have gum trees and a jacaranda tree that drop in my pool constantly. I have tried all the in-line type pool cleaners, this is 100 times better, easy to empty and doesn’t strain my filter. I put it in in the morning it does it’s thing and I pull it out when I get home, clean it and put it to bed. It even picks up seed pods without clogging, magic I love it.
Having struggled for years to keep our pebblecrete pool consistently clean, we decided to purchase a Baracuda Captura Plus from Bunnings at a very competitive price. The robotic cleaner is climbing and scrubbing the walls which have, in the past, been particularly susceptible to algae growth. Not any more. The Captura is removing algae, fine debris, twigs and leaves. Couldn't be happier!
Bought this cleaner from Bunnings after reading reviews. Took it home. New fibreglass pool, doesn't cover all of floor leaves 30% untouched...even after running it for two 2.5 hr cycles. Doesn't climb walls...tries hard but just wont do it..even with setting on strongest suction. Packed it up, put it in shed...waste of $900, revert back to my kreepy Krauly.
Wow this machine is excellent. does the whole pool in a few hours. collects big bits like leaves and twigs, no tangling and quiet as a mouse. The best thing is you can buy at bunnings so you have a proper 100% money back guarantee for 2 years. Recommended 100%.
If you've read through these reviews, then you'll know what the main focus points are, so these are them;
1. It doesn't climb walls.....tries hard ....and keeps trying and trying and trying.....until it stops. I know there are videos with it climbing walls .....but it wont....and with full suction on (& no it's not a tile pool)
2. No smarts at all - would work its way into a corner and then just stay in that area. No machine learning or scanning etc.
3. Once its cycle finishes, it just stays wherever it's finished & you cant maneuver it out....

A great, affordable robotic pool cleaner
I used to have another robotic pool cleaner (Hy-Clor Pro) which did a good job but sadly it died after about 5 years of faithful service. I didn't realise how much I missed it, until I started manually vacuuming my 10 x 5 m fibreglass pool each weekend. It wasn't just the waste of time; I then had to backwash my sand filter as so much of the finer debris didn't get caught in the filter sock/basket. That wasted a lot of water, which is a precious commodity here now.
So I started hunting for a replacement and was surprised how much the price had...gone up since the last time I'd bought one (most are around $1500). I eventually bought a Baracuda Captura from Bunnings for just $845 (promotional special, so don't wait too long if this interests you). I was happy to buy it there, as in the past when I've had a problem with an item I've purchased there, they not only just replaced it without fuss, but if the model was discontinued, they gave me the newer one at no extra cost. Just keep your receipt! I've had it for a week now and have used it three times, and each time it has performed flawlessly, picking up leaves and fine debris. The leaves are up to about 80 mm long, from a nearby gum tree. It gobbles up the gum nuts without a worry. It did climb the walls a little too aggressively at the start, but I turned down that setting on the control box and it happily mainly stays on the floor now. It is very quiet and it gets into the corners without getting stuck. It's dead easy to remove the basket and quickly hose out the debris. The cable hasn't become tangled and is easy to roll up afterwards. It came with a 2 year warranty, so fingers crossed, if it's going to breakdown, that it does so before that runs out. At least I know it'll be quick and easy to exchange it for another one.
The people at Baracuda have produced a very clever robot that picks up leaves and debris for the bottom of you pool, and scrubs the sides. The controller makes decisions to navigate efficiently around the pool, rather than randomly plotting its course. Rides up and down stairs, over heater outlets and into nooks and crannies. Power adaptor plugs into wall socket, and the cleaner runs off a safe 24 volts, so no thumping noise as made by the suction cleaners. No need to run you pump to clean the floor of your pool. Very happy with this machine

I also have the captura it isn’t working at all, I have phoned and waited too long, I have sent two emails also, my cleaner is still under warranty. Any advice how to send it back?
We brought this December 2018 and since December and there’s no traction. It turns on and releases to bubbles like it’s going to start but then nothing. I’ve tried pulling it apart but nothing. Has anyone experienced this? Or know how I fix this issue. Cheers
