I went to Bendigo Bank to open a concession account as the ANZ had closed the only local branch of their bank.
I was very clear and detailed in my questions about all fees and charges that could be applicable and those questions were repeatedly asked, the result was the same each time: No fees and Charges on the concession account and I also made very sure that I complied with every request they made.
When I went home I decided to begin setting up my Bendigo Bank internet banking and needed to call them about a few details.
I was strongly ad...
Read morevised to get an free etoken app for my smart phone, pad or Apple watch. I had already advised them at my local Bendigo Bank branch that I do not own any of the above devices. The telephone help consultant told me to go to my local branch and pick up a hand held etoken generator, NO mention of a $20 fee was made at all.- 6 reviews

Joined Bendigo bank in 2016 and had nothing but trouble.
Incorrect paperwork sent and signed then told us incorrect forms sent have to redo 3 days before settlement on property. Then was told by conveyancer that Bendigo not ready and blamed me for signing paperwork too late.
Kept security over properties that was not required then asked for another fee to release the security.
Overall a VERY disorganized bank with no consideration for the customer despite their advertisements says they are the people’s bank. Rubbish my advice give them a big miss ! You can make a mistake but every interaction with them was a stuff up....

I've been with Bendigo's Turramurra branch for over ten years.
Service has always been good to great. Some hiccups.
Some examples.
Once I wanted a fairly large amount of cash in hundreds. I had teeed it up but their head office had not sent it. So Turramurra rang around to find the nearest branch that did have that amount in hundreds.
They are not so good with sending money overseas. I tried once and there was a huge amount deducted for the service. I complained. They dug down. It turned out that they had no direct arrangement with the foreign...

such know it all but DID NOT listen to what I had to say before jumping to conclusions again and again
Okay I have banked with this bank since 2015 because they were right next to where I worked and it was an easy account to open. Calling head office has not been pleasant once over the years. Today I received Ms Know it all, tells me what I just said to her, questions me but did not listen to what I had said which would have answered her question than laughs in a condescending way when I advised her Not to be a know it all on the next customer and LISTEN... DO THEY LISTEN...JUST TAKE A MINUTE TO LISTEN THAN YOU CAN ANSWER WITHOUT BEING SO RUDE ALONG THE WAY!!! BAD BANK, St George have always been nice to me, I need to change.

Don't waste your time, or theirs apparently because they will let you know about it.
From the very first meeting with Bendigo Bank, we were made to feel like a nuisance than a customer. It took months to have an equipment loan approved. They were completly disorganised, wrote the wrong names on our loan applications, didn't sign them properly, asked for information we had provided numerous times, the list goes on. Each time I called to ask a question, no one would know how to find the answer. Simple things like 'how much is left on my loan' was an effort to find out. I asked about internet banking so I could find these things o...
Read moreut myself and got no response. We just recently paid out the loan because we dont want anything to do with them which was also an appalling experience. The majority of the time they were sat on the phone trying to figure out how to do it. Then while they're on the phone to the equipment finance people getting a payout figure, they kept saying to them "I know it's short notice, Im sorry, I know it's a hassle", like we were doing something wrong by coming into the bank. Never again will I ever have anything to do with Bendigo Bank. Go to a bank that knows what they're doing and actually gives a dam about basic customer service because this bank is a joke.
Applied in person at Wyong Branch for refinance mortgage. Existing assets and excellent repayment history. No follow up, action or progression. Approved by other lender. Very disappointed with customer service

We have been with Bendigo Bank for 3 Years after leaving one of the 'big 4' who we had been with for 23 years. Bendigo Bank's business service is almost non existent. They promised us the world and said that they were big enough to handle our business and so on - big mistake. They have been completely incompetent in almost every area in our dealings with them. Every interaction we have with them lately is an uphill battle. Our business manager even refused to answer our phone calls for nearly a week! Anyway, its goodbye to BB - all they've done...
Read more is embarrass us with our suppliers and cost us a packet of money. Thankfully 3 other banks are actively vying for our business so we'll see where that takes us! PS The only reason they get 1 star is because of their community support.Related Articles

After refinancing through a different bank, I was told my home loan needed to become a business loan on a property I own. It was the only way to take out equity so I agreed. The rate was similar. Amazing bank manager and experience, 5 star. However After 3 years the manager left the bank and was replaced with someone else. Somehow he decided to bully and single me out, and I was told that as I lived overseas my interest rate would be going up. So from around 5%, overnight I had to pay 9%, despite never missing a loan payment, the property valu...
Read moree going up 7x what it was when I got the loan (total value of loan was only 1/10 what I had outstanding with the bank) or other factors. Agreed to give the bank tax returns from years ago (not sure how they are supposed to help when loan payments are always on time?) but I’ve been told that the extra payments I’ve made won’t be refunded, despite the area manager saying they would be. Have contacted so many different people and departments within the bank that I’ve lost count. They send you all over the place p, and many people call you and don’t fix the problem. Even the bank branches I’ve been into laugh at me when I say my interest rate went up. They say that’s impossible, rates are going down! I tell them to look at my file and they are always bewildered and claim they have never seen anything like that in their life! Taking story to the media. Avoid this bank as they will screw you over.I did home loan 2 years ago with Ming Fu (doncaster branch), he did great job & provide best interest rate & service, even sometimes night time he still call & communication with you.
Last week we transfer the variable rates to Fix, he did for us so efficiently & get great deal for us again.
Just want to say thanks Ming.
Very poor to bank with charged really high fees considering I only had 1 account with them.call centre takes forever to get through went to close down account in branch and were told they only would take cash to close down account pay fees or use a different Bendigo card which I didn’t have very poor

I needed to do a atm withdrawal and I was trying one of Bendigo bank atm in Doncaster, one block from Aldi at Mitchell St, opposite Dan Murphy Store.
Only because
I couldn’t find any other atm in the nearby vicinity.
I was disappointed to learned
Bendigo bank atm still want to charge a $2.50 fee per withdrawal transaction today !!
I understand all banks removed atm transaction fee last year.
I can’t believe hearing radio advertised Bendigo bank as a better big bank!!
Today ...
Read more I realised it was a fault and mis-leading advertisement !! If they couldn’t improve their atm machine to compete with other banks! How can they compete other products and services, how can they say they’re a better bank!!?? Please check it out Don’t let them fool you ...I have been with the Bendigo Bank for 12 Years. The Banks Business service is non existent. Zero care given. every interaction I have with them lately seems to be an uphill battle. The branch, phone support etc are all hopeless.

We have banked with Bendigo Bank for about 30 years - a couple of private accounts, business account and an investment account. We run the lot online (unfortunately no branch in our new local area). Their online service is excellent, as is their customer service on the phone. Like all banks, need to be careful with the bank fees - interest paid is negligible, but little sneaky fees can soon mount up. We still love them!!

Jess Bourke from the Oak Flats branch is nothing short of brilliant, she helped me out with my finances and did everything she could to get it passed the line. She never left any detail out and kept me up to date at all times. Very polite and professional. She impressed me so much I changed to Bendigo after being with a different bank for over 20 years.
The staff at this branch are wonderful. A big shout out to Mel who also works at the Oak Flats branch, she was the one that convinced me to try Bendigo Bank and it was well worth it :)
Aged pensioner father in isolation due to COVID19, not computer literate and unable to use prepaid phone to wait for call to be answered. I went into the Coolalinga branch on his behalf, have lodged Power of Attorney paperwork previously and I'm authorised on account. Bendigo Bank wont credit back charges made to his account during isolation period. He is very ill, frail and elderly and bankrupt and now in hospital. Manager would not speak to me the poor young inexperienced teller had to keep going back and forth, asking her for advice and there were no other customers in bank.
i have been with Bendigo bank for the last 10 years and never have had problem with their service delivery, fees and charges or customer attitude i cannot fathom why a bank that displays social responsibility is down graded.

OWNED by WESTPAC and is one of the BIG 4 - stop being fooled - Bendigo Bank is a disgrace
For those of you playing at home, WESTPAC owns BENDIGO BANK, the trick is, they trade under their own credit licence. Still a big four so please don't be fooled. It is so obnoxious they are allowed to promote this false and misleading persona.
I have been a customer for a long time, I too was under the impression this unassuming bank with small branches, promoting community investment was something different. Maybe it was 15 years ago.
I never really had any issues, except the fees and average attitudes when seeking assistance. That is until ...

Had a horrific experience with 2 of the big 4 and changed to Bendigo and are very happy. Having been in business for over 30 years and with an A1 credit rating we were appalled at the treatment from 2 of the big 4.
Withholding my emergency payment during this corona virus pandemic, it's been four days so far and that's not legal, pointing the finger at others to take the blame off them
I just changed banks because of you guys closing 1 of my accounts over something so pathetic - but I really dont mind, am very glad that I have been put in this situation with whats going on in the world lol...
Been with you guys for over 10 years and have been getting treated like a piece of crap more and more all the time!!!

Learn from my expensive & time consuming lesson - steer clear of the Bendigo Bank "community" branches. Applied for a investment home loan at the Mission Beach QLD branch, was promised the world but as weeks turned to months we came to realise that we'd been fed utter rubbish and the Manager didn't have a clue what she was doing. Two month later when approval of our loan was "imminent" we find out the correct paperwork hadn't even been completed, let alone lodged... we'd been strung along completely! Absolute joke of a 'bank'. Thousands of doll...
Read morears lost in default interedt thanks to them, not to mention sleepless nights. Clearly their issues are greater than branch level, when I complained the first time to their central call centre and was told to expext a call first thing Monday I never heard a thing! Then when you try find out the district manager I was told we can't give out those details!? Sadly, don't waste your time supporting local.- 2 reviews

0 customer service, 0 security, 0 in everything. What you will do if a bank doesn't want to return your money and simply says go and make a complaint. Someone stole the money from my account and i put 2 requests and haven't heard anything for 2 months, they close my case without notifying or explaining what happened, gave me a number to how I can make a complaint if I'm not happy. unbelievable!! don't waste your time and energy with this bank...

While trying to establish and administer an estate account for my late father who was Bendigo Bank customer, bank staff provided incorrect versions of internal forms then rejected the form once we had the document witnessed by a JP.
Process has taken forever and bank staff are evasive or downright obstructive when questioned....as they hold dad’s money they naturally also hold the power over releasing it.
A terrible organisation to deal with
