Carpets have never been cleaner
Just bought an airram, while on sale at David Jones. Ive never seen my carpets cleaner. Very light and easy to vacuum. Very easy to setup and took only an hour of charging before I used it. Picked up dirt and hair very easily. Vacuum feels quite powerful and used it on both carpet and tiles. Great results!

Takes the chore out of vacuum cleaning
Beautifully designed device and very fun to use. It's light weight, powerful and very maneuverable. A real time saver. With most devices these days it does not come fully pre-charged and she obviously used it straight of the box without charging it first.

Very, Very, Very Noisy
I love the ease of use of the cleaner, I also have a "bad back" so it was that, that prompted me purchase it, but it is way, way to loud, so much so as my neighbour asked me the brand, before she told me she can hear it in her apartment across the hall!
Consequently, I don't use the cleaner, much, since owning it I've only turned it on approx. 5 times in almost a year....yes, my floors do get dusty, thank goodness for my steam mop!
I would like to return it (Harvey Norman) and swap it for a quieter model, it was too expensive just to have it sit in a corner also, considering I'm a pensioner the amount I paid is well over a month of pension payment for me.
Sorry, Bissell.

GREAT VACUUM ESPECIALLY FOR A BAD BACK
We are very happy with this vacuum. It is very light, very easy to use, and therefore great if you have a bad back.
It cleans really well.

Brilliant machine; vacuuming made fun!
My wife and I procrastinated for months and months over getting a new vacuum cleaner. We were leaning towards the cordless Dyson, and trialled a friend's machine out. It was ok, but didn't impress me, particularly the battery life. Then I stumbled on the Bissell AirRAM (never heard of the company or the product before) and took a punt on it.
WOW, what a great piece of engineering. The first thing that strikes you is "where in heck is the dust cannister?". Ok, so I'm not sure why there's a USB port on the back (can you charge it from your ...Read more
PC??!!), but it really lives up to the specs on the box. I used to fiddle about with cords and powerpoints and bags and getting the old vac in and out of storage, and dealing with upstairs and downstairs, but all that mucking around is gone now. Here are my main positive impressions: SIZE - It tucks inside our broom closet, hardly noticeable, stands by itself, and within a few seconds it's out sucking dust and stuff somewhere in the house. SUCKABILITY - It sucks well, as good as most, so that's not an issue - and this thing just runs on batteries??!!?? We've got a pet rabbit inside, and it sucks up bits of hay and kitty litter that get's kicked out of the hutch. Also does coins and small bits of lego (as I discovered accidentally!) though I'm sure the engineers didn't design it for that :) WEIGHT - It's light to lift, and doing the carpeted stairs is no longer the (somewhat dangerous) drama it used to be with the old machine. It's self-propelled on non-carpet surfaces - damn thing runs across the floor by itself, I just have to steer! MANEUVERABILITY - Gets right down under our low-hung couches and under the beds - wins the Limbo Award here. The swiveling feature makes twisting and turning a breeze (kind of like the Shark, but without the massive cylinder in the way). Far less time now spent in moving furniture out of the way and putting it back. BATTERY - Because of all the features that make this thing so easy to use, I get around the whole house in half the time I used to. I was apprehensive about battery life after trialling the Dyson, but I can get over 40 min out of the AirRAM, which lets me do two runs of the (25sq) house - ground floor predominantly timber, top floor predominantly carpet) between charging. If your AC adapter can't reach to the vac for re-charging, just pop out the battery and plug it in where ever you want to. EMPTYING - Couldn't make it simpler - pop the cover off and pull the tray out, empty it and put it and the cover back on and you're done in a few seconds.1 comment

other stringy things that get stuck in the roller - Recently bought a corded cyclonic vac from Kmart ($50 or thereabouts) for doing the tight corners, crevasses, couch, inside the PC box, behind the tv/stereo system, the car, etc that the AirRAM just isn't equipped for. Still happy. Wife still wants a Dyson, but she also wants a Tesla and she's not getting that either :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic. Saved My Back!
The AirRAM is so easy on your back. I just did the whole house, floor boards and carpets and my back is not sore. You walk forward with it and there is no straining. Then it is so simple to empty with all the dust compacted - so no fly away dust. The container is the so easy to replace unlike other machines. I just wish I had one of these AirRams a long time ago. It has changed my life. The house is cleaned more often because it is so easy to do. Wouldn't be without it now.

Worth every cent!
This is a great little vac. I used to spend ages sweeping the floor & with little ones, it seems like a never ending task. I've only had this vac for a few days but it's made such a difference! It cuts my cleaning time more than half & picks up so much dirt & dust. It's pretty easy to operate & empty & I find myself using it several times a day. Worth every cent!
If you're ummimg & arring about getting one of these, I would definitely recommend it. As the previous reviewer said, if you make a purchase this month at Masters, you get an additi...Read more

Great Pick Up
I brought this on t the weekend and love it.
I have used it on carpet in the lounge, on the kitchen/dining tiles and in the laundrey to pick up kitty litter from my very messy kitten.
It did a great job on every surface, picked up kitty litter with no problem, some just flick it out the sides, but not the AirRam.
I have a Dyson hand held as well, but when I want to do a decent midweek clean up without getting out the big vac the Dyson can be annoying as you need to press the on button for the entire time you clean and hold the entire unit wh...Read more

Only went to ten minutes then red bar lights came on
We were very impressed with the ten minutes that this vacuum worked got up heaps of dust and we had just vacuumed with a well known cleaner.. only trouble after ten minutes red lights came on indicating something was stuck in machine, we cleaned it thoroughly and found nothing but still could not get it to work, so we decided to return it, it was brought online and problem is that once you have put in the extension handle you cannot get it back out so had to be sent back by courier as to big to send via Auspost agh
It did a great job when it was working

Vacuuming is now my friend!
I bought a AirRam after checking out reviews of it, and am sold! aside from it being a really good sucker-upper of dirt (i did a 'test' at a girlfriends home - she vacuumed her carpet with her big name brand, fancy vacuum cleaner - then i vacuumed over the same area with my AirRAM... and you should have seen how much dirt & dust it picked up!).
anyway, aside from its super cleaning ability, I am in love with it being cordless!! Not sure why it is such a big deal to me, but not having a cord means I just tend to grab it and vacuum every tim...Read more

This an amazing little vacuum
I can't believe how such a little thing can pack such a punch. It works so well on the carpet as well as hard floors, and it's so light and easy to glide around. The little air ram thingy that packs the dust etc is amazing. It's a bit noisy but what the heck, I love it!! and would recommend it to anyone that wants a compact powerful vacuum

WOW!
After reading the great reviews on this vacuum cleaner I decided to bite the bullet and got one last week. We have a large area with carpet tiles and my current vacuum was not picking up anything due to the low pile. The Bissell whizzes over it and picks up everything first go. The rotating brushes also leave a nice freshly vacuumed look to the carpet. I used the Bissell after I had used my normal vacuum and I was astounded with the amount of fluff and dirt it collected from what looked like a clean floor. No problem transitioning from car...Read more
pet to timber floor or tiles. Design picks up along edges and can get into corners. It is a little noisy but I am prepared to live with that because it's going to cut my vacuuming time by half and is so light and easily transportable and compact for easy storage. Easy to charge; no base station or anything bulky, just plug in the charger like a phone. A pleasure to use and would definitely recommend! Not bulky or heavy, lots of grunt, great cleaning power, easy to store and easy to empty dust bin, no fussy attachments Bit noisySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great cordless vacuum
This is a great vacuum to have around the house. Works really well on all surfaces including deep carpet, tiles, wood and linoleum. Battery life is fantastic and is good looking as well. I keep it at the ready in my kitchen and as a lazy bachelor, appreciate the ease of use.

Bissell - The best vacuum I've ever owned
My wonderful husband recently purchased me a much-longed for Bissell Air Ram Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. I had done my research on cordless vacuums and as a result had been swooning over this model for quite sometime. I have an Electrolux Ergospace which is getting on in years and requires bags which fill all too quickly with two small (somewhat messy) children. I was looking for a powerful cordless model so that I could keep the house hygienically clean (ie. clean up after each meal) without the rigmarole of having to lug a heavy vacuum around...Read more
, plug it in and drag it all over the place multiple times each day. I am DELIGHTED with the Bissell and now clean the floors with a huge smile on my face - something I have never previously done! Vacuuming is no longer a chore as the Bissell seems to self-propel forwards due to the powerful suction. I have timber floors in the main living area which it cleans effortlessly. My luscious new carpets in the bedrooms are a breeze to vacuum - no more sore back for me! I was amazed when I first used the Bissell at how much dust/dirt it pulled from the carpets - which had already been vacuumed thoroughly that very day by my Electrolux. I found the cheapest price at RT Edwards ($249) and took it to Harvey Norman who price matched it. They also gave me a 5 year warranty in store - which means that if anything goes wrong (including with the battery) within the first 5 years I get a complete replacement from Harvey Norman. After purchasing the Bissell I found a promotion on the Bissell Australia website - simply fill in the form, add a copy of your receipt (which must be purchased in July 2014) and they will send you a second battery (worth $88) for free! That's one hour of runtime between the two batteries!! The suction power, the simplicity, the ease of use, the customer service (Harvey Norman), the warranty, the promotional bonus ... to put it simply - I love EVERYTHING about this vacuum cleaner! Some reviews say it's noisy, but I personally found it to be quieter than my Electrolux Ergospace!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great !! best Vacuum we have bought.
We bought this after owning a Vax linx for 2 years, we also have a Dyson Dc23 pet which now seldom gets used .
The AirRAM is great at picking up hair from our two golden retrievers and 3 cats, ajob the dyson was bought for and did really well but is very heavy .
The AirRAM is light easy to manouver and does right up to the edges if you use this side not the front .
Battery life is good does our 4bedroom home, we also got a second free battery which is good if you want to take a bit more time .
The dust container is on the small side co...Read more

What a brilliant vacuum cleaner!
I bought my Bissell AirRAM cord-free vacuum cleaner a couple of months ago and I cannot speak more highly of this product. It is a brilliant cleaner, lightweight and easy to use. The handle enables you to get under furniture and into corners easily. No cord to fall over either! Congratulations Bissell.
Everything - I cannot fault this product.

Another dud
Most of the reviews seem to be good: my wife loves this machine.
But - had it for four months and it is already bust: after normal - looking charge it just makes a strange electronic squeal for a second. No motor turning, nothing.
Looking at the dates of the negative reviews, the units all seem to be from similar imes. Bad batch?
Back to Hardly Normal tomorrow.
Light, good vacuum
Very noisy, lasted four months

Pathetic
Whilst this vacuum when working has great suction and is very easy to use, my machine has blown a motor 3 times in 5 months, it's been returned all 3 times and the after sales care is atrocious. No follow up calls to advise the product has been received back at Bissell, no follow up to advise why the machine is faulty, over 20 minute wait on the customer service hotline. Hopeless. I should of got a Dyson but read so many good reviews on this product.
Good suction & easy to use when working
Blown motor 3 times, customer service is terrible, without product for up to 3 weeks

mediately so that you don't burn the motor out. Vaccuum cleaners with roller/brushes tend to get fringing (or shoelaces or other long things) tangled around them.. and the result can be a burnt-out motor. I've been taught since a little girl not to vacuum fringing etc with a roller type vacuum. I think you might find it won't happen again if you avoid the fringes & similar things. I think there was a suggestion on the AirRam brochure about this?Shoulda gone to Harvey Norman - simply take it back to the store and they view the fault and replace it on the spot!! They also price match so you get the best price and awesome customer service. Win-win!!

n safely say it's not user error, just a really loud and crap machine. Buy it
This machine is old school technology (like grandma had) but cordless and is amazing. If you have dogs or cats it eats their hair effortlessly. One pass, all done. It sits in a small cavity in our house, always at the ready. It is so light in weight, it's like a toy. Yet a deceivingly, incredible vacuum. The convenience of a "DustBuster" but the power of a full size "performance" vac.
Light as a feather. Cordless . Picks up after our Dyson DC23 which is now our spare. Kids are using it for fun.
No attachments. But that's it.

Update. Still going hammer and tongs (as you'd expect). A few friends have now purchased this machine and are just as gob smacked at its ability. (To other review) handle is removeable once assembled.
No problems at all. As great as the day it was purchased.

Loved it, but....
I bought this vacuum cleaner mid 2013 and loved it so much! In less than a week it was not working. A belt had snapped and it was no longer vacuuming, just making noise! Thankfully, there was a Bissell rep instore when I returned it and he was able to arrange a swap, otherwise I would have been left with returning to Bissell for repair.
Then my love affair continued. My mother came from interstate to look after me post surgery and she also loved it. I have rugs with fringes and quickly learned to avoid those - and watch out for mobile ph...Read more
one chargers laying on the floor as they will get eaten down to the wires (apparently I'm not the only one with that experience!). Regardless, I was still happy using it for what it was. That is, until last week when I was transporting it from one room to another and dropped it from a height of maybe 30cm. The arm snapped off damaging some electric circuitry and leaving it unrepairable. My own fault, but I would have expected it to be a little more hardy. The things I loved about my AirRAM were how easy it was to just grab and use. No cords, no attaching hoses, it was just there. I enjoyed it's manoeuvrability - it moved easily along skirting boards, under coffee tables etc with no fuss. Self propelling was kinda fun! For such a small dust bin, I could vacuum my whole house a couple of times before needing to empty - and then it was just a matter of pulling out squares of compacted dirt and popping them in the bin. That 40 minute charge really does hold for that long. There is no fear of needing to stop midway to recharge. The things I didn't love were the noise, the inability to accidentally vacuum over cords and not being able to vacuum my rug fringes. And cleaning the rotating brushes. I know this isn't unique to the AirRAM, but my gosh the amount of hair that gets wrapped around those things! Sheesh! Although my house looked clean, I never really felt it was properly cleaned since I wasn't able to vacuum the tops of skirting boards, or sneak into that crevice next to the fridge. And yes, not being able to vacuum my rugs properly since they have fringes. Little bits and pieces wouldn't always be picked up, like small stones or grit kicked out from the cat litter tray. Good, but not quite good enough. I wouldn't use it as a main vacuum, but as a daily it works wonders.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I would contact the Bissell Outlet Shop in Scorsby, Victoria - they would be able to let you know if they have in stock and could post to you or if you live nearby you could pick up.
No, it wasn't your husband, it happened to me too, broke 13 mths after buy, and you can get from Bissell but it takes a bit of time (long time cos they don't answer very quickly and then don't respond well, there's a girl on emails who is terrible) for them to get back to you and i gave up and threw the thing out, mine lasted just over 12 mths before that happened. I'm going back to corded vacs, i tried other vacs too, even a Dyson and it was terrible. I should say they sent me the part, but it didn't seem to fit properly and no one i knew could get it to sit in there.....sad because it was v good.
Sounds exactly like our story!

An update: I'm very happy to say, Harvey Norman gladly exchanged the cleaner after the salesperson started it and almost jumped out of his skin! I changed it for a Bosch which cost a lot more, hopefully worth it!
