Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.

Biggest mistake I have made
I bought this 3 years ago and have had no end of trouble. It stops with the red light after every few minutes of vacuuming. Now 3 years later it just died. Wont turn on at all. My old dyson lasted 15 years. This was a bother to clean as well. I wont be buying Bosch again.
Purchased in April 2021 at Harvey Norman for $479.00.

Should have bought a Dyson
I paid more than $500 for this vacuum cleaner and get the red sensor light up after only a few minutes of vacuuming. I have called the help line three times. Cleaned and washed the fillter. Made sure all pipes are clear, cleared the dust in the container. I even removed the hepa filter.
I would expect this to last more than a few years.
I see many other people have made this same mistake and have the same issue.
I will be taking a hammer to mine.

Love Love Love this Vaccum
i love this vacuum we have had it for about 4 months and its a great vacuum. i have no complaints and love the sucking power it has and the adjustable knob is incredible when adjusting the suction on it. it could gently pick up substances that are very light like sawdust and then it can suck the deep dirt out of rugs and carpet. great model and worth every dollar i spent on it. Bosh defiantly made a good model with this one. it follows you everywhere and is very silent even for a high suction it is bagless and has a large capacity tank so you d...Read more

sensor control comes on every 30 seconds!!
I am vacumming for the second time only and the sensor control light comes on every 30 seconds despite being emptied and washed!! this is ridiculous! Please! I CAN'T GET THE PLACE VACUMMED!!
I thought for the price I'd paid for this machine that it would be faultless! However, this does not seem to be the case

Incredible suction and super quiet motor
I went out shopping dead set on buying a Dyson DC37 then a came across the Bosch. The Dyson just felt flimsy and had small, flat pipes leading to the dust bin, and also didn't come with a hard floor head ($49 option on the Dyson) With prices comparable (both around the $400 mark) I feel the Bosch is a much better vacuum. The suction is incredible - so strong that it lifts the carpet and the rugs. I vacuum the house once or twice a week, so when I first used this to vacuum the whole house I was extremely surprised to find the dust bin was full ...Read more
up to the dotted line. That just shows how poor a job my previous Hoover was doing. And even with the dust bin that full, I hadn't noticed a drop in suction power. Yes it is a large unit, but that's because it houses a large dust bin and a big powerful motor. Definitely glad I chose this vacuum. I have owned 3 Hoovers before, but I wish I came across Bosch sooner.1 comment

Hate this vacuum
Purchased this vacuum cleaner three months ago as it was recommended to me by the salesman at Harvey Norman The worst vacuum cleaner i have ever bought in forty three years. It is quiet, but so difficult to maneuver around. It is so heavy. Never buy bosch again. Should have gone with first choice. Dyson

Very powerful
Suction power is excellent, quiet vacuum ever seen. But bad part is the power cord automatically pulls in as soon as it snags around furniture. The part where the hand grips the pipe is far too large in diameter.
Other than that it is no other complains. Recommend others to buy it.

Rubbish
I'm annoyed that I let the Harvey Norman staff talk me out of replacing my Miele with another. Purchased this instead and only a few months down the track, the rubber has come off one of the wheels so it pulls unevenly and has to be dragged across the tiles.

Quiet and powerful.
The most quietest and most powerful vacuum cleaner we've ever owned even more powerful than the DC28 and Vax Zen we had put together. Highest setting sucks the carpet off the floor also the noise at the head is noisier than the vacuum cleaner itself but is not a problem once you adjust the speed for normal use. The head accepts bigger debris without wanting to block up. The body has a quality look and feel about it hope it lasts the power cord wants to retract when caught up on furniture and accessories tool falls off at slightest bumps but that's least of our worries. Easy to empty the canister and stows away nicely. Very nice vacuum cleaner it's the best we've had.

Great vacuum
Great vacuum which is very powerful yet still pretty quiet. Only complaint is that the wand is a little shorter than I was used to and the auto retract cord can be a bit sensitive. Other aspects more than make up for that though. Love the ease of attaching/detaching heads and the quick 'clean' for the filter. Definitely recommend.

After-sales support non-existent!
Called Customer support at Bosch regarding a missing brush & was told to fill out and submit via email a Missing Part Form with a copy of the purchase receipt and any other supporting documentation. I did exactly that and had no response so I've re-emailed just over a fortnight later - guess what? - still no response!?! I do like the quietness of the vacuum cleaner but feel that the thicker hose makes it heavier and like other reviewers mentioned the three-way tool falls of at the slightest bump. Very dissapointed with their incompetent custo...Read more
mer service and (lack of) after-sales support, petty that a product's review is dragged down by the company's inability to deal with customers. I know for a fact that in future I will stay away from Bosch products just for this reason and choose a different brand!1 comment

Don't waste your money - this vacuum will give you no satisfaction!
I'm with Bee of Sydney who wrote a review which is exactly as I feel. Don't consider buying this vacuum cleaner. It has made my vacuuming so much harder and frustrating these days.
AGREE - The power cord automatically pulls in as soon as it snags around furniture. My power cord doesn't even go all the way in the first time I pull it. It takes about three goes of pulling it all the way out before it completely retracts.
AGREE - The handle part where the hand grips the pipe is far too large in diameter. Not designed for women's hands. I ...Read more
actually end up with cramps in my hands after vacuuming my home which takes no more than 15 minutes. AGREE - It's heavy and really difficult to manoeuvre on carpet. My walls have never had so many paint chips since buying this vacuum. Don't be fooled by the selling gimmick about the tube being thick and therefore it won't buckle. Well, the only thing about the thickness of the tube is that it makes the cleaner even heavier and harder to manoeuvre! Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this vacuum cleaner. Don't waste your money. Shame on you Bosch - you have a good name with kitchen appliances, pity it doesn't flow through to your cleaning appliances.1 comment

Simply frustrating
Don't even consider this vacuum cleaner. It is making vacuuming so much harder.
I thought, how can I go wrong with good German design? Well, where do I start...?
SNAP-ON TOOLS: When this vacuum cleaner was designed they forgot to add a space for the accessory tools. So Bosch chose a snap-on design for the little brushes and nozzle (snaps on telescopic pipe). These tools fall off with the slightest bump or touch and it totally drives me crazy, as they fall off every few minutes.
But, when you actually want to attach the tools to the pipe, ...Read more

Very Powerful Vacuum, but consider spending the extra for the Zoo'o model
Replaced an old upright Dyson with this Bosch vacuum - and its a great little machine, powerful and very quiet - it's easy to empty and easy to use
I got a bonus turbo head, but that doesn't work too well so have stuck with the normal head... It can be a battle to find the right power setting to use, as on full power, it is too hard to push/pull across the carpet
I had tested the Zoo'o model in the store, and the turbo head design was much better - if you can afford it, this seems like a worthwhile upgrade.... I would certainly swap and p...Read more
ay the extra if I had the opportunity. The holder that holds the tools on is next to useless and always falls off, so I have shoved the tools in a cupboard somewhere should I need them, which can be a bit of a pain Overall it's good, just those couple of annoying features Sucks well, easy to use, good capacity, good price Turbo head useless, tool holder constantly falls off2 comments

excellent vacuum
Not normally one to post a review, I absolutely love this vacuum, and had used product review to select the brand before purchasing. It picks up way more than our previous vacuum (a good quality 12 yr old AEG). It is easy to use and not too heavy. I wanted bagless but thought the dyson felt very 'plasticy'. We have very thick carpets and rugs so bags would fill quickly. This vacuum makes it very easy to remove the fluff. It has way more suction. I was given the extra head for thick carpets (Harvey Norman WBJ) which works well.
suction, bagless, easy to use
could be a little on the heavy side but not a problem

The hose has split around the coil near where it feeds into the hard plastic handhold that connects to the metal tubing. There appears to be two buttons, one on either side as some form of release mechanism for the tubing from the hard plastic. These buttons do not seem to press in, or release the tubing.
Can you advise on how to release the tubing, and if replacing the hose might be a warranty claim - it was bought in Dec 2014.

This is not the same model as mine was, though there's a two year warranty as far as I know. Id imagine you should be able to get something done with your vacs hose if you act before December.
Sorry for the delay been away. I have tried my cleaner and am unable to release mine either. Yes you should make a warranty claim. Good luck
