Has anyone had other coffee capsules (not Nespresso) get stuck in the Creatista Plus coffee machine? I am told that other capsules that fit the Creatista Plus can also be used but there have been some reports the non Nespresso capsules can become stuck. Any comments please would be appreciated before I consider buying it or not. Thank you.

I have used L'OR Espresso pods (Jacobs Douwe Egberts' brand of pods) in this machine without issue - these are aluminium pods and may be less "sticky" than your conventional supermarket plastic pods. Best of luck

You can only get past this cycle when you fully complete all steps correctly. Go from the start again and make sure you do each step and don't try bypass anything...like remove the capsule container...it has sensors and will only move past once all steps are followed. The rinse cycle will get done about 3-4 times and the machine will come to an end IF you have completely followed all the steps correctly.

I purchased the Brevile Nespresso Creatista Plus about three weeks ago and have not had a descent cup of coffee yet, it tastes too watery when making a cuppaccino or a macchiato ... I have even tried the strong coffee pods Ristretto and still the same. Has anyone had this problem?

I've got the same machine. It's a convenient machine to use but the coffee is relatively insipid. I prefer Moccona capsules to the Nespresso ones, and you can buy those at Coles. I tend to use two capsules (strength 10 or more) instead of one. I do the first one as an Espresso and then the second one as a cappuccino. The milk temperature isn't usually hot enough for my taste so after I made the coffee I'll put it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Instead of the usual chocolate sprinkle I like to sprinkle a teaspoon of ovaltine. I guess coffee is all about individual preference, and I don't have the time to make a traditional coffee with beans, grinding etc. Despite all this it's still not as good as a high grade barista made coffee in a cafe but light years better than instant coffee,
If you have the Creatista Plus you can easily adjust the water temperature. For example, at Café Latte selection, press select dial and menu comes with 3 options - coffee water level, temp gauge and heat milk setting. Press the select dial to bring up the temp gauge - this is factory set at 'ideal', turn dial anti-clockwise and display will change from 'ideal' to 'hot', press select again to 'lock in setting'. I have done this with my machine as the 'ideal' water temp setting tended to make my coffee taste a bit watery. A check on the internet indicated this watery taste comes from not having water going through pod hot enough to extract the full flavor of the coffee. Be careful tasting your coffee after adjusting the temp to 'hot' as it really heated up the water, but it worked, and I get a better tasting coffee.

Has anyone tried Nespresso compatible coffee pods for the Breville Creatista Plus machine? If so, what brands (eg Vittoria compatible pods), and how did they compare to the Nespresso pods?
1 answer
I've used myriads of compatible pods, the Nespresso pods have significantly more robust aroma, and richness of flavour.

My creatista keeps telling me to attach the stream wand after I use it. Obviously it is attached and appears to be working fine. When I make a flat white I use a pod, then do the milk, message comes up and I have to tap the button, then do my second pod. I've cleaned, descaled, undone, reattached, everything. Still keeps popping up the message every time I do my milk. Any thoughts?

Hello
I’ve purchased the Nespresso Creatista Plus from US which runs 120v and brought it back home, Vietnam as a gift to the family. I purchased a step down transformer locally with 120v, 2000VA which runs about 1600-1700w fir the use of Nespresso Creatista Plus. After i am completing set up for the first time use, there is no water comes out from the coffee nozzle and it seems like the water pump is not working. The only time that i hear the pumpis pumping is setting to cleanthe milk wand. The pump never pumps when trying to make either coffee or milk. Any ideal anyone? How can I make it works. I did not have any issue when I used in the US. Thanks in advance.

Did you find a solution to this problem?
I had the same issue. It’s related to the power supply cycles per second (Hz). The 120v ones need 60Hz. The pump doesn’t operate on 50Hz.
No. I bought this transformer with both step up & step down for 2000W, 2000VA but it still does not work. it operates from 47Hz-65Hz.
(2000 Watt Step Up/Down Voltage Transformer 110V 220V Volt SevenStar TC-2000G). I may try to get 3000W to see if it works. The unit is fine and works perfectly when brought back to the States.

The milk is rarely hot enough unless I only put a small amount of milk in the jug. I’ve tried adjusting the milk and temperature levels for a number of variations but no matter what I try, I can’t warm enough milk in one go for 2 cups of coffee.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the milk temp to "very hot" and pressing down the button to select that temp. I found if you just scroll to it and go out of the settings it goes back to the original setting. Once at "very hot" press down on the same button you selected with, if that makes sense.

Is there a temp adjustment for the coffee? I can only seem to adjust temp for steamed milk. I find the temperature lukewarm even right out of the machine. Much prefer my boiling hot french press.
2 answers
There is no way to adjust the coffee temp. This is a major drawback and can only be compensated by pre warming the coffee cup or by adding warmer milk.
I also had the exact problem. The temperature of the water is luke warm. When I was given a demonstration of this machine the water temperature was very hot compared to what I get at home. The machine has now been taken away to check the water temperature and why it is noisy compared to the demonstration shown at a department store. The machine is brand new so this should never have been a problem so I just wait and see the results. Haven’t used the milk wand yet so I cannot make any comment in this.

When I turned on my Breville Creatista plus today the on button and the dial began flashing alternately, can someone help me with an answer to my problem? Thanking in advance, it’s only 5 months old and I don’t use it everyday :)

According to the manual you should follow the on screen prompt. It is likely that you need to descale.
This what it says:
- Follow on screen prompt.
- Check the water tank. If empty, fill with potable water and brew a coffee.
- Check steam tip for blockages. Use pin cleaning tool stored under the water tank to unblock each of the holes.
And if it doesn’t help then:
- Descale machine, if necessary.
- Complete a Clean Steam Wand cycle, if necessary.
Thank you jaykle, yes I didn’t see the banner on the edge, not tall enough lol, but it was the steam wand needed taking apart, I’ve now thoroughly cleaned and all’s well.

Apart from the capsules purchased from Nespresso, do any other capsules fit this machine?
1 answer
Yes, there are many. Look for the messaging on the pack stating "compatible with Nespresso Coffee Machines." One brand for example is L'OR. Be careful not to get caught out with the larger Nespresso Dolce pods suitable for the Dolce machines only.

My CREATISTA PLUS"s frothier continues steaming milk to overflowing in spite of using very little milk? Every froth flows over onto the counter. I sent the machine to Nespresso to be 'repaired.' The "repair" did nothing. The problem persists.. Does anyone have the answer for this problem?
2 answers
There could be several causes for this from to much pressure or a faulty sensor, etc. I am surprised Nespresso would return the machine to you with the same problem. The repair would be under warranty so just give Nespresso a call and tell them it was not repaired.
I find this happens if I have milk under the minimum line in the jug
I think it needs a certain amount of milk to not froth over
Try filling it to the first line, you do waste a bit of lily but it won’t froth over

Hi, my 2 month old Creatista machine doesn't froth the milk when I press the button for Capuccino's or Cafe Latte. I have only made 2 capuccino's since purchase. I have steam purged and cleaned the wand with the pin to see if that fixes the problem - but still doesn't work for frothing. Has anyone else had this problem? Im wondering if it is an electronics issue with the computer interface on the machine?

Hi Mark, this is very strange. You could have just got a bad machine off the production line. Have you registered the machine and joined the Nespresso Club. In doing this you have 24 x 7 support for anything to do with the machine or coffee. I would register and call them as there may be steps they can guide you through. Don't feel to bad about this because you have a two year guarantee and if they need to have the machine returned for repair Nespresso provide a substitute machine so that you are not without coffee. I am both a cappuccino and espresso drinker and in the three months since I found the pressure on the coffee pourer reduced a little even with cleaning so I may shortly be going through this backup process myself. As it sounds like you are mainly a black coffee drinker, if you ever find this happens, a tip here is to take a new (cheap) tooth brush and brush the stipple area where you put the pod in because the area that punctures the pods become a little clogged from the coffee and it's oils that build up over time, then run a lungo setting through without a pod to clean out.
Thank you Aza - much appreciated! Cheers Mark.

I have a creatista plus which is probably 14 months old .I love my machine but recently the steam milk wand occasionally doesn’t stop frothing the milk until it flows out of the jug . I only fill the jug to the line & have not changed any of my settings . Has anyone else experienced this?

I have used for 6 months I had no problems
Hi,
I've experienced the same thing. It continues to heat up the milk and a lot of steam comes out as well.
I performed a full cleaning cycle (not only the wand but for the whole machine using the cleaning liquid nespresso sells) and the problem was resolved.
Hope this works for you as well.
Jay
I have a similar issue. Has anyone found a resolution? I’ve cleaned the wand and turned the milk heat to just warm but it still happens

I have just completed descale
Once completed machine stoped producing steam (and yes water tank full:))
I have reset MC and also turned of disconnected from power and restarted after 1 hour just to be sure
Still no Steam neither from wand or to create coffee
wondering if there has been a similar challenge with anyone else and your solution?

Hi Tony.
I think there is a design fault. Or a bad batch. I'm on my second machine - inside 3 weeks! Andrew my second machine, just like the first, has stopped frothing milk after very little use. Both machines were perfect to begin but both have now quickly failed and the second machine is even worse as it now makes a noise when steaming the milk which is definitely not right. I will be returning my second machine and seriously considering looking a different model.
