Frustrating
It's taken me an entire day and numerous phone calls just to renew a policy! I Had my old car with budget direct (gold comprehensive and no claims) and just bought a brand new car. I wanted to get insurance for my new car and the call centre team don't seem to know what they are doing. I have been put on hold numerous times and was originally quoted $790 and confirmed via phone that would be the final price and then when I finally received half (yes only half) of the policy it was for $1090... I am now back on the phone and have been placed on hold foe the past 20mins... which is why I've had time to write this review. She's stated I'm already locked in so I can't even change insurance. Cannot express my frustration enough!

Absolute Dogs!!
These people are absolute dogs. Don’t care about you or your situation. Took over 6 weeks to resolve a claim and over 20 hours worth of phone call.I also have a newborn baby and had to use my wife's car and my family was stuck at home. They said they didn’t give a damn about my situation. I was left in the dark the whole time. Had to track down different departments myself. Was told false information by a nob end called [name removed] in the claims department. Would definitely not recommend these dogs!!

Adds terms and conditions including extras after
Budget direct added an additional extra because I'm under 25, this was not mentioned anywhere before I got the insurance. It does not make sense. How can a listed driver be made to pay additional excess for something the company already knows.

What a joke! 0 stars
I updated my address and realised I made a small window chip claim 3 years ago, added it into my policy for transparency and my insurance premium went from $2000 to $4000 annually. Wow, what a joke? Then the guy said 'oh ill try and do something about that'. If that's what you think you can do off the bat with peoples policies then you're unethical.

Useless when needed
Had a major accident, didn't even tow my car for two weeks. And were very slow and using every excuse possible to reject the claim. Changing insurance as soon as I can.

Worst insurance company to deal with
They very nice and polite to give policy. But ones you lounge a claim one of worst company to deal with they give even appointment to look car after 1 month atlist. They after take woke to look car just assume how long they will to fixed car. Forever.
Can some one help for what I need to do with fight with this fake people.

Was able to add another vehicle and do everything online
I purchased a new car and sold my old one and all within a few minutes I was able to setup my insurance for my new car, cancel my old one and receive my remaining refund and transfer my roadside assist. By looking up my Rego, it was all pretty straight forward without having to know all the standard features and specifications of my new car. This was all online as well, so could do it at anytime that was convenient. Was cheaper than all other quotes too, so very easy. I've made no claims so cannot comment from that perspective.

Regrettable session to insure with them.
The company will only accept suitable candidates according to there criteria which is complete b.s. I signed up last year for gold comprehensive and it wasn't until someone millesiously damage my car with a key I claimed for the first time, not only did I have too payout my insurer to get it repairs they refuse to renew my policy and use there criteria exclusion as an excuse. I did not do a thing wrong and yet they leave me a letter in the mail dictating I do not fit there criteria no other reason was given. I do NOT recommend budget direct and I do not recommend you insure with them in any way they will b.s. you about there criteria when they have received enough money out of you.

Car Theft Claim Rejected - Insurance not worth the paper its written on
Been the victim of a crime is never nice. Having an insurance policy is supposed to mitigate the financial burden of the crime and not add to the stress experienced.
I purchased the insurance based on price and the awards they received from money magazine. For the second year I reviewed the renewal quote they provided versus one I submitted on their own website. Naturally I stayed with them for a second year when they committed to price match a quote from their own.

en 8.30pm and 11am the next day. There was no witnesses and at the time of writing the vehicle is still missing. I had locked the car and went into my house about 8pm after pumping up the wheels and I had foolishly left a spare key in the centre console earlier in the day. The centre console is made up of two levels and the key would have been on the bottom level. The console is also covered with a door. The car also had very dark tinting which would make it very hard for any thief to see a key was in the car. Based on leaving the spare key in the console my claim was rejected. Looking at their website they say 18% of cars are stolen with key in them. Absolutely ridiculous customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service. They do nothing they promise and any offers such as gift cards and vouchers are not honoured. You have to through calls after calls and still nothing is ever done.

Purchased five policies. Good value for money. Will be purchasing more in 2020 and encouraging others to purchase from Budget Direct. Did take a little while to set up online. Looking forward to using Roadside Assistance if the need arises.

More value than others
Yes it is cheaper than my previous insurance. But it has some catches too. It doesn't have road side that which is not an issue for me as my car dealer includes that. Additional driver who dont live in the same address will have more excess if claim. My previous policy doesnt have that. But all these are acceptable to me as long i i could save my monthly repayment.

Very slow process for claims!
It has been over 2 weeks since the claim was made but it still has not been processed despite repeated calls and emails for follow-ups. Until now, we are still waiting.
