SCAMMER ALLERT
I am sharing this in hopes that other consumers will read it BEFORE not doing business with these scammers.
I booked a car to which I paid a premium insurance, only to find out that the rental company will still secure a $2,250 deposit on my credit card and they will use the ENTIRE amount if the car gets any scratches or dents. When I asked them to cancel the useless policy they said it needed to be cancelled more than 24 hours prior to the rental period, ignoring that I booked the rental only 2 h in advance. I wasn't informed of none of the important facts - that they need 2,250$ security deposit and that I can't cancel the policy if I don't needed it.
I will NEVER do business again with these scammers!

Quick to take your money but don’t want to give it back when it comes to getting a refund as i cancelled a day before

This business l does 1pm "booking" for a car hire from a company that closes at 1pm. No car, no ability contact the local hirer...
Absolutely nothing you can do to mitigate the problem, as you deal with overseas 3rd party.

Thief Company
Never book a rental car through Emirates as it goes through CarTrawler. I booked a rental car with Avis through Emirates and they took $Au 751.01 from my credit card without my authority. When I checked with Avis, they said they did not get this money. When I checked with CarTrawler, they are referring me to the CDW access and telling me it will take 28 days to show the refund in my credit card. They are not talking about the money they took from my credit card. I am trying to stop this payment from my credit card

Don’t book with Cartrawler
I booked a hire car through Cartrawler as I was flying with Emirates and they are affiliated.
As I had to cut my holiday short because my daughter had an accident and was in hospital, I returned the vehicle 2 weeks short. When I contacted Cartrawler for a refund, they told me it is their policy to not give refunds.
Book direct with the hire car company and never with Cartrawler.
OMG what is waiting for me?
I booked it some time ago for transfer from Denpasar airport to the hotel. TODAY I am flying. I should come here before and check the ratings.

Worst service ever
We had a flight from Christchurch to Auckland which got delayed for 5hr, so we informed the cartrawler about it. But the customer service agent, started saying we have to rebook, whereas we were not in fault here. Still after hours of discussion they finally waved the rebooking fees about now they wanted us to pay extra for the vehicle( which technically meant rebooking).
There is one thing being insensitive but they are just hopeless. I mean for a business they definitely know how to loose a customer. I will never use them again, and would not recommend to anyone.
Do not use this company
My flight was late in arriving at manchester,from Australia via Dubai. When I went to pick up my car, Car trawler had gave my car to someone else, if I wanted another one I would have to pay the whole amount again!!! They would not give me a refund or reduce the other car price. I lost all my money, They said I should have told them I was delayed, not sure how you can do that when you're in the air.
Customer service was non existent, no way was she going to compromise.
Can't understand why emirates still recommend their car hire.

This company is a shocker. We booked twice through the Emirates website and both times was a farce. The first pick up was in Prague. We paid for a meet and greet. We had to call the driver 20 mins after we arrived. He said he was running late. That's fine got to the car which was run down, dirty and the driver was in a pair of non washed tracksuit bottoms.
The second time we were picked up in Dubai. Paid for a meet and greet again. Well that didn't happen. 40mins later the driver shows up to collect 5 of us. Got to his vehicle which was filthy

Dont book with them....wrote at 7.38 - at 8.14 there was a response.......the response that says I cannot amend my pick up address (same street, wrong number), I have to cancel and rebook! As I booked a flight through Jetstar for my Wife and Myself to the Gold Coast and offer for car hire was also made at the end of my flight booking, which I accepted. Everything was confirmed with booking numbers for car hire etc which was given in writing.
Last week I received an email from Jetstar wanting me to confirm the car hire booking, which I tried to do online as explained and came up as no booking so I rang the hire company and to my surprise, Annie at Bargain car rentals
No car booking at airport - left stranded
Made booking through Virgin website. Confirmation email received 2 days before. Turned up to Thrifty counter at airport. Booking cancelled with no notification. No other cars available. Left stranded. Absolutely hopeless!!
A scam, I should have come here before booking!
I booked a car and driver for transfer in Feb 2022 from Perth International Airport to our home, on the Emirates website. We travelled first class and as there were only 15 passengers on the flight were amongst the first 4 passengers to leave the Terminal. My husband was in a wheelchair and we had 6 pieces of luggage. No car or driver was waiting, nor did it arrive. A telephone call to the number on the voucher only offered a recorded message: "Please leave a message", to which I record no reply. All emails to Cartrawler came back undeliverable. When I queried the charge with American Express I received an email from Cartrawler telling me they are a booking agency only, based in Ireland, and what was the problem with my car rental booking!! They advised Amex I was a 'No Show"!! Amex are now following up with CarTrawler again. CarTrawler would appear to be a scam. I advise strongly against making any sort of booking with them. Any airline facilitating CarTrawler bookings on their website would be wise to review their arrangements with CarTrawler or risk the lack of service to their passengers reflecting badly on the airline. In summary: No service, money taken for no service, no apology for lack of service and airline through whose website the booking was made (in this case Emirates) refused to take any action.Questions & Answers
Could you please fix the website?
I have not been able to add on “optional extras” to any of the car rentals I’ve made through your website. Mainly I need booster seats for my two kids & I haven’t been able to do it at the time of booking or when I “manage a booking” through the CarTrawler website. My recent booking ref number is AU492441830 and confirmation no. H91036192E3. I’ve had to ring the rental company during business hours and add on prior to the trip - it would save time if the website was fixed to allow it to be done at time of booking.
