Happy Customer.
Everything went according to plan with the drop off and pick up and out car had been rented out on 2 of the 3 days. We will be leaving our car with Carhood for 2 months in June.

Car handling
Car was used in a responsible manner, kept in an under cover area and returned clean. There was speed ticket issued, but it was handled and paid straight away as soon as i notified Carhood.

Still owed $300 from August 2018...
We left our car with Carhood for the month of August in 2018. It was rented out several times and clocked up a few thousand km's. We got the email saying they owed us around $300. That was in August 2018, its now February 2022. We have spoken to and emailed Jules (customer service) and he has advised it was escalated to Management, its been over two months, nothing...
I'd be interested in joining this class action, seems like these clowns need to be wrangled.
Also, why do you only reply to good reviews?

Our new CEO is currently working through our backlogs. Our company, as most start-ups do, has been reliant on investor funds. Funds we were told were coming in January never arrived, which means we have been operating on a very skinny basis whilst we find new sources. This search has been successful, and we will now be receiving additional funds over the next 4-6 weeks. I appreciate that you not getting paid will have caused immense frustration, for which I am sorry. With the new funds, we will be able to pay you very shortly thereafter. Horrible service no payment yet
I left my car for 7 weeks at Sydney Carhood depot but haven’t received my payment yet until now.Every time I call they say the same thing “will be accelerated and forwarded to the finance section “.This is really disgusting.

2 months after listing has ended and no payment. Also their guarantee of $250 is worthless, they don't honor it. Avoid at all costs. It will save you so much pain and trouble

I left my car with carhood in Melbourne for 4 months. After I returned from overseas, found the car has been 88 days on road with more than 10,000 km on that 88 days. Also carhood had not done any service on the car like changing oils or filters. I picked up the car while foam from washing the car was on the body. problems being paid
the staff at location do their best.....but being paid monthly on time an issue ....today removed my 4 cars with this company....attitude of management aggressive and threatening....am awaiting today for final payment will hope all ok.....does anyone know if owner steve johnson from lower plenty vic. is the tennis player???

Perfect so far
We dropped our car off at the Melbourne depot on 16/1/19 with no glitches whatsoever. Person at the desk was friendly and professional, wasting no time in checking the car and settling the paperwork. The gentleman also reassured us that our car would be photographed and properly checked before and after each rental, and that it would be properly cleaned when we eventually have it returned back to us. at could be passed back onto the renters as long as we nominated Carhood once we receive any such notices upon our return. Anyhow, that part we will worry more later on. Another 7 days before we get back to Melbourne. Fingers crossed! Short wait for the minivan to take us and our luggage to the airport. About a 10-min drive. Friendly driver who helped with luggage. Well done Carhood! Thoroughly impressed so far. Part 2 of our review. And so our flight was delayed, twice. Sent emails to Carhood to amend the car pick up date. Response was prompt and no issues whatsoever. Carhood sent a reply stating the changes. Finally got to Melbourne airport (some 35 hours later than expected), rang Carhood to arrange airport pick-up. Easily done. Call picked up by Aaron, and told to wait at Hotel/Buses Pick-up zone. Within 10min the minivan pulled up. And within another 10min we were reunited with our car. Looking good on the outside. No visible damage. Phew! Opened all doors to check the interior; all good too, except for some sand in the 3rd row floor mats and what looked like choc stains on 2nd and 3rd row seat fabric. Told Aaron about it and he, without hesitation, asked to vacume the sand and clean off the choc stains. Within 5min, all good. Car smelled nice too. Wifey said it was baby smell. Anyway, Aaron reminded us to inspect the car and to email them within 24hr documenting any damage we discover. Also to nominate Carhood for any traffic or parking infringements occuring during the rental period. Thank you Aaron! Car was left at the Melbourne depot from 16Jan to 2Feb (18 days). Car was rented out for a total of 11 days. Today is 7Feb and we have not received any unpaid tolls or fines. Yay! Saved on airport parking fees and earned a little $ for the rental. Will not hesitate to do this again. Thank you Carhood! Just sharing our positive experience. Hope yours would be as good or better. Cheers!1 comment

Extremely helpful
We have no experience with hiring at this stage, but have shared our car for hire. It has been well taken care of and is so helpful to be taken where you need to go before a holiday. On return, a lovely clean car awaits to just drive away. Any profit from having loaned out the car is a wonderful bonus.

A perfect way to start and end a great holiday!
We haven't hired a car from Carhood as yet but several times we've shared our cars for hire! Everything has been great and to then come home and get an email telling you the little extra profit you've made with the hire puts a smile on your face and it may have paid for that night out on the town whilst away!

Do not rent them your car - they do not pay
Like many others, I too have not been paid for the time my car has been rented out by Carhood.
I have written to them for months chasing up payment, but no meaningful reply. Instead I get a message from their claims department asking for me to pay for a litre of oil. Crazy.
PAY ME what you owe carhood!

Worse payers I've ever come across
This business whilst looks all create for the customers renting the car and getting their cars, us owners of the cars are getting absolutely ripped off as we never get paid on time! Carhood now owes me $1250 and no one ever picks up the support call line and if they did they cant do about it! All i get is i'll escalate this....what to the finance manager who is clearly sitting in the bahamas sipping on a pinacolada?

SCAM - does not pay.
We’ve been leaving our car with them for over 6 months and can see online how often the car is rented out. However this company does not even pay the minimum guaranteed $250 per month. Emails go unanswered. They now owe us over $1200. This cannot be taken as anything other than a scam. Do not leave your car with them. I also wouldn’t rent from them either. If they can’t deliver their service to those who leave their car with them how can they for those who rent?

Convenient when you travel and want to rent out your car
In overall, this is a good service.
I rent out my car. I was dropped at airport after driving my car to their garage.
My car was clean when I took it back. Full fuel.
One minus is customer service forgot to update my listing, I supposed to take my car back on a specific day, but it was rent out, so I had to come back the day after to take it.
Make sure to check your listing on their site if you are expecting a modification in date/time

Customer service was great.
Yes everything was handled well.
I ended up lending my car to others whilst I was overseas to see my parents. It met my requirements for sure for it saved my both leaving my car idol and saved heaps on airport car parking.

No respect for the customer
I am yet to receive ~$48 from car listing statement MELOWN7175, which is now almost 8 months overdue. This is unacceptable. Customer service said several times that this would be fixed, but it hasn't. I feel like I was ripped off.

Very difficult to get payment.
I used your service twice, the first time was from the 19th September to 6th October, second time was 27th September to 12th December. For the first time, so far (17th December) I have not received my payment. I emailed to support department and also called service center many times, still not received any payment. I was told that toll fees would not charged from my account when people drove the toll way but I received toll fees' bill three times. I felt like I was cheated. Very sad.

Bad payers
If you are thinking of parking your car for free and getting a free car wash, then this is a good way.
Staff are good, nice office, free courtesy drop off to airport.
but if you are dreaming of making money for renting your car,....then forget about it.
I still haven't received my payment. and its been 3 months and I have been chasing them every other week.
They also didnt pay for the toll charges.
but its a nice concept if they can make profit and pay everyone who have listed their car.
