Our pearl white DeLonghi kettle has had coffee spilt on it and it has stained the outside of the kettle. We have tried regular detergent but it doesn’t budge. We are scared to try anything harsher without advice. Any tips?
1 answer
I’d try a paste made from bi carb and lemon juice. Add to stain, rub in gently and leave for an hour or so

Why did my kettle just stop working, it's 18 months old. Is it old age

Mine worked for nearly 9 years without issue and now dead. it should work longer than 18 months, could be faulty or some parts DOA.

Is the kettle noisy? I currently have a Bosch kettle and it's really noisy any advise?

My Delonghi kettle is not noisy and the bottom part doesn’t get hot only towards the spout as I have to be careful of my special needs children as they like to try and touch hot things. Try the Delonghi as I have in my photo. Good luck

When boiling water, will the outside of the kettle become hot?
2 answers
Hi, no the bottom of the kettle doesn’t get hot at all. Just the top around the spout gets hot as this is why I got this kettle as my special needs son is autistic and wants to touch items if he thinks it’s hot! So when he touches the kettle it doesn’t burn him as I had to install a induction top stove I will be doing a review on soon. I hope this helps you. Thanks and good luck
as Shirley stated only the top around the spout gets hot. if you have curious little ones like we had, keep the kettle away from the edge of the bench to stop temptation to feel/touch

I have a delonghi kettle kb02001r I would like to clean it on the inside as it almost look like a cooper colour inside.I bought a kettle cleaner and the instructions on the bottle says not to use it on aluminium or magnesium alloy kettles. What is the interior of this kettle and what do you recomend to clean the kettle interior with?
Thanking you in anticipation for your reply.

I've never used a "kettle cleaner" as such. What I have done in the past is cut up a lemon into chunks, pop them in the kettle with water level at MAX and boil twice. Empty out the lemon and water. Refill with clean water and boil. Rinse and repeat. Good to go. I've done this with all of my kettles over the years, whether they be metal or plastic and have had no issues. Mum and Nan passed this down to me :)
I was told the same method by a friend and it worked wonders. Thanks for the tip.

I am on my second Delonghi electric kettle. The kettle has a crack from outer shell. Doesn't leak but annoying to see the crack line. Is this a common problem?
1 answer
Hi Marianne,
This was not an issue with both kettles but I have returned mine and changed to Sunbeam.Mine was a rust issue within.
We had a red kettle and the outer colour would change to dark red and very hot once boiled, this could affect the paint to crack Im sure.
If your e not happy with it return it.
I now have a red toaster bur no matching kettle:( better this than no kettle after 12 months. My last kettle lasted 8 years.
I hope this helps?

I purchased a toaster/kettle combination from Harvey Normal Berrimah. The representative happened to be in the store and of course headed us in the direction of your product.
However, whilst the toaster is good, the kettle is the noisiest I have ever heard or had. We have to turn the TV up or wait for an advert to boil the kettle. If I could, I would very happily return the kettle. I must say I was so very disappointed as I thought Delonghi would be a good brand, especially at the price. Have I got a lemon? or is this noise normal? Tks in anticipation Robbie

I had no issues with noise, It was a bit noisier than other kettles, but definitely not so noisy to overnoise the TV.
I come on this site to see if I had a lemon too because we have to do the same thing and my hubby curses the kettle everytime I boil it, it is crazy loud, gutted as I love the look of the kettle and haven't even checked it any of the other flaws mentions on this site has happend. Such as rust etc. Hmm what to do, it really it way to loud and drives me nuts too.

Boiled water from my new kettle has a terrible taste. What should I do about this? I purchased only one week ago.
1 answer
If you think its wrong I would take it back and exchange it. Ours is fine. We chose it specifically because it has more metal and less plastic inside - so taste and "contaminants" would be less likely.
