Cyclone V10 Absolute +

I leave my Dyson v10 in the charging dock and when I removed it the vacuum will not turn on. The battery indicator flashes a full battery only once then nothing after. I have check to make sure there is no blockage but still no power. Any ideas?

Hi Brett this exactly what is happening with mine. I have contacted Dyson and they told me last week that they send a new unit this week. Then they changed that on Tuesday to say that they have no new units and they would not be available for at least a month maybe longer.
Their solution was to send it in for assessment which would take 10 working days, so all up it will take 4-5 weeks before I get a replacement (which by the way they would not guarantee they may just repair it which not acceptable to me), taking into consideration the time to send it back plus the nearly week and a half wasted after I was told the wrong information.
My suggestion would be take it straight back to where you bought it as quite obviously there is an issue with the V10.

It seems like it’s not an isolated case. Mine has done the same thing with the trigger being pressed & battery lights light up showing fully charged, yet nothing is happening, machine not switching on. 10day wait thing etc etc seems like it might be a common practise. Like the machine but have to say have my doubts on its longevity prospects. Mine failed within a couple of weeks but had problems from day one. On the battery life, There are Aussie reviews from tech guys saying they got 15minutes from max mode. Doesn’t sound right to me and every other user. 5-6minutes is all most seem to be getting

Can I use it on tile flooring?

I use it on my tiled bathrooms and it picks up the hair pretty well in there

Hi Jun,

Thank you for your query.

Yes, the Dyson V10 Absolute+ can be used on tiles.

The Direct Drive Cleaner Head, while ideal for carpets, can be used on hard floor as it does have carbon fibre brushes to help reduce static and pick up more fine dust. However, we would encourage use of the Soft Roller Cleaner head. This head is ideal for removing fine dust, as well as larger debris at the same time.

I hope this helps, however feel free to email [email protected] if you have any further queries and our Dyson Experts will be happy to help.

Best wishes,

Dear Jun, yes it can be used on flooring. May I also suggest that you look at the LG Cord Zero range as well. The LG vacuum has several features that the Dyson does not have such as:

- The LG Cord Zero comes with a removable battery and a spare battery. (The Dyson V10 on Max with the power head attached only gave me just over 7 mins run time)
- The LG comes with freestanding charge station and can also be wall mounted, whereas the Dyson has wall mounting option only.
- The LG has an fully adjustable extension pipe that can be set in several position whereas the Dyson is one and not adjustable

Cyclone V10 Absolute +

Hi, I’ve recently bought the V10 Absolute only 7 days old and it doesn’t start again after 10-30 seconds on high mode and changed backed to medium or low mode. Generally I will need to wait 5-10 minutes for the machine to start again. The battery charge is showing 2-3 bars and filter light is not lit.
Is the machine faulty?

Hi there,

Thank you for your questions.

1. We are unable to confirm an exact lifetime of the battery as there are too many different variables that can contribute. We can say these are a consumable item and would sometimes need to be replaced during the lifetime of the machine. Pricing has not yet been confirmed for the replacement batteries however judging from previous models should be expecting something around the $80-$100 range and can be replaced by the Dyson owner. Replacement batteries are not yet available, the machines aren't designed for 'hot swapping' and we wouldn't recommend to use a spare battery when the current one runs out of charge.

2. Power settings and tools will vary on how the individual cleans and what type of debris it is being used on. As a general rule of thumb, for any hard floor tools we recommend to use the Soft Roller Cleanerhead on the low mode. Carpets and Rugs you can use the Direct Drive Cleanerhead on low, medium or high depending on if there is any stubborn dirt or dust. For dog bed and couch you can use the Mini-motorhead tool which is great for upholstery and picking up animal hair, for curtains you can use the combination tool or soft dusting brush.

3. Everything will be in one box. It will come with about a quarter charge however we recommend to charge it completely before using.

4. At this stage Dyson is not offering any discount or trade-in on the Dyson Cyclone V10. For any updates please keep an eye on www.dyson.com or send through an email to [email protected].

I have just purchased my V10 Absolute. On Max it only has lasted for 10 mins. Is this normal? I am vacuuming polished wood floors - not terribly dirty just with a light layer of dust.

Don't use it on max on wooden floors medium or low should suffice. We have not run out of charge as yet but have vacuumed more than 10 minutes with a combination of max and medium settings.

Hi Barb,

Thanks for your question.

The Cyclone V10 has a variety of run times from 5-40 minutes. It's normal for a new machine to be preset to the Maximum suction mode, which has the shortest run time.

Please see the following Cyclone V10 power mode guide video for further details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWElDYPJMBo
