How long is the battery expectancy of the V10 compared to the V8?

2 answers

Brigitte S

I do not about the V8 but Dyson told me, that the battery should last many years and by then a replacement battery should be available.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Batteries are a consumable item which suffer wear and tear through usage, therefore will eventally need to be replaced. The factors affect the battery longevity which varies amongst users and therefore we can't provide an expected life of the battery.

The roller head can be detached with a coin to clean hair etc. Dyson have instructional videos for most v10 maintenance on their youtube channel

Hi Aaron, I have done that. It is inside the roller (if that makes sense). It doesn’t appear to be spinning when I put the head back together...

Your Dyson V10 has smart electronics within the machine, battery and charger to ensure the machine won't overcharge. Dyson recommend to leave the machine on charge when not in use, even if you haven't fully used the battery. Off charge, the machine will be in standby, ready for use and will slowly loose charge, however we can't provide a timeframe of how long the machine will remain charged off the charger.

We hope this helps, however if we can assist further our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to assist.

The motor (?) always feels like it's overheating. Hot air is blowing out the filter vents. I've washed the filter but the problem comes right back. I am only using it less that 5 minutes. I can't be washing the filter and waiting 24 hours for it to dry completely just to vacum for another 5 minutes. At this rate it will take me a month to clean my whole house. I am afraid of ruining the motor. Any ideas?

Ring Dyson.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Please be assured it is completely normal for air to exit the rear of your Dyson machine being warm as the exhaust is used to remove heat from the motor. This will be quite noticiable on the MAX mode, however will warm up from extended use on the other modes as well.

If you feel the machine isn't working as it should, or differently to when you originally received it, please forward your details to [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be in touch and happy to help.

Cyclone V10 Absolute +

I have recently bought the V10 Absolute and am disappointed to realise the filter requires washing a lot more frequently than every 3 months! And to add more the Dyson website says that there are no spares available for V10 yet. I suppose I could buy non genuine parts but I would really prefer to buy genuine or have this replaced as we have paid $999 for this machine. Apart from this issue I love it!

Does anyone else have this issue?

Hello,
They replaced mine when they repaired the canister.
It was a non genuine- but looks the same.
They said wash it every week and when dry after a couple days put it back- I blow it out with a compressor as I use it every day and I find that annoying to wait for it to dry.
And I paid that too - it should come with a spare- so you can switch as it dries

Maisy
Maisy

That's not the answer I would be looking for after the $$ spent on a vacuum!!
According to the instruction book its supposed to go 3 months before needing a wash. I must admit that if the filter warning comes on mid clean that I take it outside and brush it off with a banister brush and can carry on vacuuming, but the point is that it should perform better, at least to the level that Dyson states :-|

1 answer

Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Brent,

Thank you for your query, we are happy to help.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing a pulsing sound when using your Dyson Cyclone V10 machine on MAX. A pusling or surging sound indicates a blockage or restriction in airflow in your machine.

We would kindly ask you to check your machine as outlined in the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjOc0Ah-vYE

This should help in getting your machine back up and running, however if we can assist further please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be in touch.

Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your question.

When dust enters the bin it is spun out of the airflow. At the bottom of the dust bin there are plastic baffles to catch the dirt/hair/fluff and keep it down. If it wasn’t going to be caught, these would keep spinning and negatively affect the performance of the machine.

The way your dust bin fills depends on a number of factors, primarily the type of dust and dirt, and also the speed in which the particles enter the dust bin. If the majority of your debris is smaller, such as dust particles, sand, grit etc, it is more likely to evenly fill the bin bottom to top (think like a glass held unevenly under the tap).

If more carpet fibres, hairs threads etc are sucked through the machine, the fibres can catch onto each other as they spin through the dust bin. The baffles at the bottom will catch them, and they will tend to bundle together and build up and out from the one spot.

We hope this has satisfactorily answered your query today, if you'd like to further discuss please call our helpline on 1800 239 766. Our helpline is open Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm EST.

Best wishes,
