So good we are getting another one!
We have been using the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool for the past month mostly in my daughter's bedroom.
One of the most important aspects for me is the design and safety of this product. We have a 7mth baby who is starting to move around and I like that there are no blades or small components to this machine so I don't need to worry about her around the unit.
As with other Dyson products the Pure Hot+Cool is great quality and well designed with some smart features. We live in a small townhouse where space and storage is at a premium so I look for pr...Read more
oducts that can do double duty - I love that we will be able to use this product year round as a fan, heater and purifier. The purification on this unit is fantastic and monitors and reacts to particles (PM2.5, PM10), VOC, NO2, temperature and humidity. In the first couple of weeks on auto it operated on low or was in standby as air quality outside was good, however, over the past 2 weeks we have had poor air quality due to bushfires and wind. The machine automatically kicks in to compensate to bring the air quality down to a good range (I've attached screenshots of outside air quality over past 2 weeks vs inside air quality to show how effective the machine has been). In terms of temperature - the fan creates a good breeze and we have it positioned at the doorway to circulate cool air from reverse cycle into my daughter's room. This replaces the pedestal fan (which I have always hated); the design is safer without blades and it is much sturdier making it less of a trip hazard. The heat function is excellent - we had a couple cool mornings when we first got the unit where temps dropped down to 4 degrees. Using the heat setting in my bedroom (15sqm with 4m high ceiling) the temperature rose from 17 degrees to 21 degrees in 30 minutes. The heater worked better than the panel heater we used over winter and is a safer option with a baby as there aren't any grills or small areas for her to stick her hands and the unit didn't feel too hot to touch.Similar opinion? Dyson Pure Hot + Cool HP04 review
It was perfect timing to try Dyson Pure Hot + Cool (HP04 model). Australia is burning, and as result smoke haze and ash are causing a lot of unwanted health issues. On top of that my wife is allergic to cat fur and some unknown blossoming plant during spring time. So we planned to use Dyson Pure Hot + Cool to ease side effects of environmental conditions.
The appliance is very versatile, but before I continue with the review I would like to point out that Dyson Pure Hot + Cool isn't air conditioner. Whilst it works beautify as almost silent fan...Read more

Proven under the most testing of conditions
I was asked to try out and review the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect (or not perfect, depending upon how you look at it). Since taking delivery of this machine, Canberra has been alternately shrouded in dust storms and bushfire smoke. With asthmatic children who have had to stay home from school on a couple of occasions because of the outdoor air quality, I was quietly hopeful that at least the air inside our house would be "fair". Well, not only has it been fair, but "very good". I can't praise this app...Read more
liance enough. Unboxing / setup: The box is ENORMOUS, but very protectively packaged, with everything you need to get started, including your first set of filters, and a sleek remote that sits magnetically on top of the unit. It was really simple to put together and set up, with an app that connects to your home network to enable operation via your smartphone and/or home hub. They thought of everything! It's a very stable and reasonably attractive unit, although it is incredibly light, so if you are placing it on the floor, make sure it's away from foot traffic where it can easily get pushed. App operation: If I could remove a half a star from my rating this would be where it would happen. Despite setting up the voice control to work with our Google Home, it seems to only intermittently work. By the time you've asked Google unsuccessfully several times to turn it on or off, you might as well have picked up the remote or your phone and done it manually. But my biggest bugbear with the app has been the outdoor AQI (air quality index) reading for my local area, because this data is just not accurate. Whilst we've had health department warnings for hazardous levels in Canberra the Dyson app tells me that Canberra air quality is good, even when visibility is almost nil from the bushfire smoke. I've attached a picture of the readings when my son left a window open during hazardous levels, and you can see that indoors was reading extremely poor, whilst outdoors the Dyson was reporting levels as "good" - the result was fairly confusing but somewhat amusing. But the reality is, whatever the air is outside doesn't really matter, because it's how the machine is functioning INSIDE your home that's important, and I can't fault this. Air purification: Despite the area data, the indoor data seems very accurate. When the appliance has been left off overnight and I have woken to find "poor" readings inside, after turning the Dyson on I watched it gradually bring the indoor reading back to good / very good. Since then I have left it set on auto. I find the auto setting brilliant, as I don't have to think about it at all - it just continually monitors the air and comes on when needed with the appropriate intensity. Other images I have attached show that when the outdoor reading is dreadful (using a Health Department reading), the Dyson is working hard to get the reading down inside, which is no mean feat with doors being opened and closed, frequently letting all the smoke inside. Fan: If you set the machine to "auto" the fan blows at the intensity required for purification, which is highly variable, but this is obviously adjustable. So when it was hotter weather I turned the fan speed up to create a better breeze, and it works as a terrific fan. Conversely, when it is working hard to purify the air on a cooler day, if the fan is too intense then you can turn it down. I haven't really used the heat function as yet, because... well, summer. But I did give it a go, and the air is lovely and warm and it heats the room nicely (or not nicely, in summer). Noise:Purchased in December 2021.

Perfection at its greatest -
When I think Dyson my mind go straigh to ducted Air Con and big appliances but after receving the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Purifer my whole mindset changed for the better.
The initall set up up the fan in assessbling the carbon frames seems pretty simple enough.
I love the fact that you can control the fan power, direction, timer & tempeture from your mobile phone via wifi connection is simply put the best function.
The fans function as explain are quite useful in a sense that if speed or tempeture needs changing I wont have to get up as I can do it from my phone or the remote.
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Purifer seems to be one solid unit given that its fairly lite to move it from one place to another.

Cool, cosy and clear
I received this product as part of the Product Review Ambassador program, just in time to give it a good workout during the December heatwave. It is one of the few, if not the only product on the market that does 3 things in the one appliance: heat, cool and purify the air. Lets be clear though, it is not an air conditioner, the cooling function circulates the air, and the heating function circulates warm air like a fan heater, but with the added advantage that it is temperature controlled, so will switch to pause mode when the temperature is r...Read more
eached. Having said that, it does what it purports to do well. Like all Dyson appliances the design is sleek and unique and well put together. It comes with a 2 year warranty and you can download the Dyson Link app from either the Apple or google play stores. This enables you to control the unit via wifi and remotely, a real boon for those who might want to warm up a room before arriving home. Its also great for those who are disabled as you can control the unit from your chair using either the app or the remote. The remote fits neatly on the top of the unit, just another example of the excellent design features of Dyson products. It also has the battery in a sealed compartment which requires a screwdriver to remove, so great for families with small children as they can't get to the battery. The actual unit has a 2 stage filter fitted around the bottom which draws in air all around for purifying before releasing it through the amplifier loop at the top in either heat or cool mode. The 2 filters (activated carbon and hepa) are purported to remove 99.97% of pollutants including odors as well as particles as small as 0.3 microns. For those living in smoky or dusty conditions or with allergies this is a real boon, but beware, the carbon filter requires changing every year or after 4300 hours, and they are not cheap to replace. Really, in this day and age they should be washable at least a few times and then replaced. Given the design of the filters, I imagine that you will have to replace them with Dyson originals rather than generic ones. The app or remote will let you know when replacement is needed. The unit itself is quite bulky (almost 6 kg), so for those with a disability, it may not be easy to move around. As the manual specifically instructs you not to lift the unit by the amplifier loop, it could be problematic for the elderly or those with a physical disability. It really requires a carrying handle to enable easy lifting and positioning. The electrical cord is also quite short (and again the manual warns about using an extension cord) and is not retractable 2 areas where the product could be improved! Nevertheless because of its weight it is quite stable and though my dog bumped against it a couple of times, she didnt manage to knock it over. The app and remote have a myriad of functions to control temperature, airspeed, oscillation air quality, direction, heating, cooling, night mode and timer. I doubt that anyone would use all the functions but once set, or in auto mode the unit pretty much takes care of itself and all you need to do is turn it on and off. A small LED display on the front of the unit, as well as the app, show the settings when the information mode is selected, and will include details for air quality, humidity, heat settings, etc. The unit has a brief manual which contains everything need to set up and use the unit, but I'm puzzled as to why information menu details are contained in a separate fold-up - why not include it at the back of the manual? Far too easy for this to get lost.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

HP04 - Dyson pure hot+cool purifying fan heater review (Purifies, Heats and Cools)
To be honest I had never really considered purchasing an air purifier no less one that also heats and cools but with the current bushfires and the smoke billowing in from the surrounding areas of Canberra it was a perfect opportunity to test and review one.
To say I was excited to test the Dyson pure hot+cool fan heater was an understatement. Aside from the bushfires my 11 year old daughter has mild asthma and suffers from allergies so I was interested to see if the product lives up to its claims.
It was easy enough to lift the appliance out...Read more
of the box. The Assembly instructions were ok but the diagrams could have been a bit larger and more detailed. It was tricky to work out if the carbon and HEPA filters were symmetrical (i.e. whether they had to go a certain way up). I needed to search the web and find some video instructions just to make sure. I downloaded the app and it is a pretty handy feature to have. It was easy to download and set up and pair to the unit. The app allows you to control the unit from anywhere in the world. It is also a very handy feature to have at my house for turning off and on. My floorboards are very creaky and my daughter is a light sleeper. I have often accidentally woken her up when going in to her room at night to turn appliances off. This app makes it easy for me to set a sleep timer or just turn it off from the comfort of anywhere in the house without disturbing her sleep! Once you figure out what you need to do it is a really awesome unit. If you want to set up continuous monitoring you will need to enable it as it is disabled by default. Once enabled the unit will gather air quality, temperature and humidity information which is displayed on the LCD screen on the unit and is also available to view in the Dyson link app.Purchased in December 2021.

Good quality unit, very pleasant to use
Dyson are known for very well engineered products and this is no exception - significant effort has gone into making this unit quiet and efficient. Ultimately its a fan with heating and purifying functions, but it differs in a few respects you might not think are important until you use it.
1. It's an elegant and attractive design. It consumes little space but has a visual appeal that would make it at home in any bedroom or modern appartment.
2. Its pleasant to use. Dyson set out to make fans that efficiently push a lot of air without the buffe...Read more

Great Fan and Purifier, Techy and Well Designed
Dyson has a reputation for producing high quality and innovative products and I have always been interested in their fans but have been deterred by the price. In my opinion an air circulator or fan for more than $60 has always been hard to justify and I think that Dyson is on to that as well. With the novelty of their bladeless air multiplier wearing off they have brought several new products in the past 5-10yrs to include heating and now humidifying and purifying functions to add to the value (with assoc. price increases for each as well).

Very good multi-purpose fan for allergy sufferers and etc., if rather expensive
We recently took delivery of a Dyson HP04 Pure Hot+Cool purifying fan heater from Dyson and ieatwords.com.au.
My first impression was "Whoa, that's a big box!". At almost one metre long, this box contained no little desktop fan, this is a serious piece of kit. Once unpacked, the unit stood a full 77cm high and almost 25cm in diameter. Before use there was some very limited and simple assembly required - unbagging and inserting the two carbon and two HEPA filters into the main body. The unit comes with a small remote control which is sto...Read more
red on the top by magnet, in keeping with other Dyson's room fans. To be honest this is the first room heater I've owned which actually required me to read the manual before using it (well, some of it anyway!) - and, yes, it does come with an actual printed manual, rather than the typical multilingual, quick-start piece of origami so many products ship with these days. There is a single on/off button on top of the lower cylinder just above a small, circular, colour display which can cycle through and display a variety of information by pressing the information button on the remove control. The front-to-rear tilt angle of the unit can be manually adjusted by about 7 degrees in keeping with our other Dyson room fans. Turning the unit on starts the fan, the display illuminates and shows the current room temperature and (smaller) the fan speed - for all other functions the remote control (or app) is necessary - see below. After setting up the unit and switching it on, the next thing I did was to download the Android Dyson Link app (presumably there is an iOS equivalent for Apple users) - this provides the owner with finer and more advanced control over the unit than the included remote control provides; not essential but beneficial. Starting the app required Bluetooth to be enabled with WiFi shortly after - by providing it with Wi-Fi credentials the app completed its pairing with the fan. It then required me to assign the fan to a room for identification purposes, presuming that we have more than one linked item in the house. Once the app was paired with the fan I provided it with the geographic location of the device so it could provide local outdoor air quality data - again not mandatory but enhances the overall app and device experience. I also enabled the app to display notifications for filter life and diagnostics. Much to my surprise, one of the first messages I received from the app was to advise that the firmware in the fan had been updated - I have come to expect firmware updates on my phone and computer, but on a fan heater?!? Now that's one for the books!Purchased in November 2021 at ieatwords.com.au.

Review took me three months.. so now I have the data.
I received this machine in December I think.. and wanted to give it a propper run but due to the bushfires and other complications, it was difficult to properly assess. I delayed the review for three months to make sure I had given it a thorough test and I also bought a new filter kit a week ago to compare new filters against 3 month old filters, and this is what I found.
Firstly my interim review was a bit harsh. I was comparing it against a much larger InovaAir E20 plus which is a totally different category and retails for over $1500. The In...Read more
ovaAir is not a fan or a heater.. just a filter. So it would be an unfair comparison. However.. you will be surprised with the outcomes. Firstly, the build is very typical of Dyson. No other product I know makes their gear to be so robust and accurate. Everything is easy to use, solid, and locks into place easily without needing a degree in physics. The unit is really solid and it would be difficult to break even if you managed to knock it over.. which is hard due to its center of gravity. It can tilt on its base on a very cool joint that impresses me. The unit can almost rotate a full 360 degrees but you can set what level of rotation and even where that rotation is, with the phone APP. Quite remarkable really. Cleaning the unit is as simple as wiping it down with a wet cloth. Nothing else needed and it's extremely child safe. Nothing to stick their hands into etc.Purchased in December 2021.

Fantastic all round
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool .... so it purifies air, heats and cools, but what makes it fantastic is the design and user features.
The machine is around a metre tall and is fairly light at 8kg. As it has a narrow footprint, I'm sure you can find a place for it in your home or office. Its shape & weight is easy enough for young children to push this machine over, so that is a consideration for parents, but the same can be said of most fans.
The head on the fan can rotate 350 degrees and you can define the direction from the phone app. For ex...Read more
ample, you can set it to blow in one direction only, but you can use the app to rotate the fan to that direction meaning, you dont have to physically turn the machine to face a direction. From the app, you can also set the oscillation angle from 45/90/180/350 degrees in any direction. So useful! The inboard fan works really well to cool/fan or heat an area quickly. The fan has 10 power settings which is excellent as the lower settings are fairly quiet for night time setting or in a childs room. The bladeless fan design is fantastic for safety too. From the app there is also an option for continuous monitoring of the air quality and environmental information, which is good to see values including room temperature over a longer period. As our family doesn't have any significant air related allergies or conditions as such, it was hard to tell what difference the filters makes, but it is obvious by the build quality of the filters that they are well designed and have a clear purpose.Purchased in November 2021.

This has made a huge difference to our air quality
We've had a few Dyson fans before, including the hot and cool ones, but this is my first with the air purifier. As background, we received this during the NSW bushfires of late 2022, when air quality has been pretty bad throughout Sydney and surrounding areas. When we started up this fan, it showed immediately that the air quality inside the house wasn't great either - and the proceeded to fix it! It was exactly what we need, as most purifiers don't actually give you any feedback. We're quite happy with the heating and cooling of the fan too, a...Read more
nd essentially just let it run in auto mode. Plus we love the Wifi connectivity, so we can turn it on or off, or see how it's going, from the app on our phone. We've since bought a second one to put in the kids' room. In summary, we love it - now here's some more detail. OPENING THE BOX AND SETUP It's a pretty big box that arrives, but there's a lot of packaging in there, including the carbon filters which must be installed before use. They're quite simple to install (a little fiddly, but nothing too bad), then you plug it in and pretty much go. The remote is simple due to the clever packaging indicating what all the buttons do. Setting up the app on your phone and connecting to Wifi is also a breeze. USE I simply set it to auto and let it do its thing. It kicks in when it needs to, and goes quiet when it doesn't need to be actively toiling away. It monitors the air quality and temperature, and you get a record of that over time via the app. It's not completely silent, but then I didn't expect it to be. It's still relatively quiet, and does put out a decent amount of air.Purchased in November 2021.

Absolutely in love
I would give this more stars if I could.
The executive summary:
PROS:
* 3-in-1 fan, heater & purifier in a super cool, stable design
* Ability to control pretty much everything - degree of oscillation, direction of air flow, heating temperature, automated scheduling, etc etc etc
* Wi-Fi app with data-rich reports
CONS (about the only one in terms of operation):
* The manual says to move this by holding the base, but the lack of finger-holds on the base makes moving this a little difficult (from the perspective of a short, fly weight)...Read more

Godsend during the NSW bushfires!
I have been using this as a fan in the house over the last two weeks while we've had all the bushfires going on in NSW and it has been amazing. It's been very smokey where I live, to the point where I was waking up at night from the smell thinking the house was on fire. When I put the Dyson Pure fan on the readings for air quality were all in the red zone, but within about an hour it had it back down to green and the smoke smell was gone. I've been moving it between the bedroom and lounge room during night and day respectively to keep the smoke...Read more
out of the house, as well as for cooling on hot days. I've found it very easy to use and simple to set up. The filters are easy to click on and off and the machine will tell you when they need replacing. It comes with a little tiny remote control that you can store magnetically on the fan so you don't lose it (assuming you don't have small children like I do who will steal it and need to keep it on a high shelf somewhere!) At first this bugged me a little, as I would have liked to have some controls on the machine itself so I didn't have to search for the remote every time, but then I downloaded the Dyson Link app and can control the fan from my mobile phone, which I always have on me, so it's become a non issue. The app also shows the air quality stats and can be used away from the home if you've forgotten to turn it off. With the remote or app you can set a timer on it, put it into night mode where it runs the fan at level 4, change the air flow direction, oscillation, switch around the information displayed on the fan and switch between heating/temp and fan settings. The display can be set to show the room temperature or air quality. I didn't really test out the heating mode too much besides giving it a quick look as it's been warm lately, but it heats up very quickly and seems like it would be effective come winter. A few people have commented on the noise at night, but I honestly haven't found this a problem, especially in night mode it just isn't really that noisy at all, I guess it depends on sleep preferences though. If you like a bit of mild white noise it will be fine. Things I like - Has both heating and fan settings so can be used year round Air purifying is very effective & display feedback very informative Oscillation has multiple settings - 45/90/180/360 degrees so you can set it to suit the size of the room App is very handy as you don't have to worry about losing the remote Can be set to switch off on a timer, or when the air is clear to save power Filters are easy to remove/replace and machine advises when needed Is a lot sturdier and looks longer lasting than the cheap pedestal fans I've been replacing every summer!Purchased in November 2021.

Purchased this to heat a large living space (approx 6m x 5m) after reading many great reviews. Was a bit worried it wouldn’t quite work well enough for the space but it works wonders.
Within 30 minutes of setting it up in a room that was about 8 degrees, it was very soon 20+ degrees. The different functions to direct the heat are great so you can direct it more at one or two people rather than the whole room, or vice versa. Either way it works really well.

still hear the tv over it without turning the volume up. The remote is small and I worried about losing this, but it attaches to the top of the heater magnetically. For our purposes there isn’t really any reason to take the remote away from the base unit but at least you do have this flexibility if needed. We were a little apprehensive about spending this much on a heater, but given it’s also for cooling we are hoping it will be a great investment from that perspective as well.Purchased in August 2021 at The Good Guys for $430.00.

I'm wondering why I don't see any read out of air quality etc on any screen. It's mentioned in the booklet I got and in these reviews.... but the black square next to the on button never has any info. Its like theres a sticker on it or something. I sure would like to know pollen levels etc or even when the filter needs changing. I read in a review that if you push the on button it turns on, but if you push and hold the on button for a few seconds it activates the read-out screen. But that didn't work either. I don't have a smart phone so I cant use any "app" to check things... but it appears from the info the read-out screen should automatically work?
