Excellent Build Quality, Very Quiet in Sleep Mode
I have only just started using this item for myself and my kids. Build Quality is Excellent and it runs very quietly at night during sleep mode - it is so quiet in sleep mode that I can't even hear it at night. My kids and I have noticed a difference in the morning, we feel more refreshed and my kids blocked nose is cleared. The unit is well built, but a little heavy to move around, if they release a new model maybe it could have castor wheels for ease of movement. The unit is a bit pricey, I think $400-$450 would be a fairer price, not $595! Overall, I am very happy with this unit's performance so far, and can definitely feel the difference.

Excellent purifier with a few things to be aware of
Pros
Winix zero is an excellent purifier and does exactly what it says to do.
Air is noticeably fresher and cleaner and great at filtering out bushfire smoke just set to auto and forget
Uses about 70 watts on high so pretty good
Cons
Price price price.Australians get ripped off in a big way as this model is identical to the U.S Winix HR900, Aussie price between $600_$750 U.S price $220 U.S so like tad over 300 AUD so more than twice the price in AUD for same model which is outrageous.

Have been very pleased with my Winix ZERO+PRO air purifier. I now sleep much better.
Greatly appreciated Russell's prompt action in sourcing and dispatching my air purifier. I have chronic lung problems and have felt a great deal of improvement in ease of breathing. The machine appears to be very well made, operates really quietly on the low setting and reasonably quietly on medium setting. I find the machine easy to care for and filters appear to be simple to replace.

A step down.
I liked my Winix AUS-9500 so much, I decided to buy another one. Initially disappointed to find the AUS-9500 had been superseded by the Zero+ I bought one anyway because of the predominantly positive reviews right here on ieatwords.
The Zero+ is more minimalistic. The remote control has been done away with and the exterior is... purposeful.
When I fired her up, a pleasantly muted blue bar of light transformed the stark front facade. As the air quality fluctuated the colour of the light and fan speed changed in sympathy. At first, when the a...Read more

Great air purifier combined with awesome customer service!
I purchased a Zero 5 model, due to the heavy smoke from the bushfires. The air purifiers at the local stores had all sold out, but with the very generous help by Scott from Ausclimate was able to source one, and had it delivered very promptly! I was very impressed with the effort and customer service I received from the very first phonecall.
Setup was quite easy, and I had it work it working away in a few mins. The sound is quite minimal, unless very heavy pollutants enter the house, as it needs to work harder to filter the air (but that is t...Read more

Perfect personal Service
All purifiers seemed to be sold out but with personal attention provided by Ausclimate staff one was discovered and delivered. I was very impressed with the attention give across the board by the different staff members who I caused to become involved. The unit is in operation now and we can feel the benefit.

Absolutely the best service ever and product is very effective.
Ausclimate provide amazing service. The purifier is perfect for our home, dealing with smoke from all the fires. Our house smelled badly of smoke and had difficulties breathing, where now we can start to breathe much better

outstanding air particle reduction
Purchased two Zero+Pro 5s a couple of months ago, after considering the range of products on the market. We made this double purchase after contacting the sales office and getting helpful advice about unit effectiveness. We have one downstairs, and one upstairs immediately under the Air conditioner air filter intake. This enables the winix's purified air to be sucked straight into the air conditioner intake and distributed around the house.
The change in air quality is quite noticeable, much appreciated by family members with asthma. The...Read more
ability of the units to filter out the Sydney bushfire smoke in the last several weeks is remarkable. The air quality monitor is sobering - even when we couldn't detect smoke or poor air ourselves, the monitor would indicate poor air first thing in the morning or when a window/door was opened. On low and sleep settings, no discernible noise, and only marginally noticeable on the medium setting, High is noticeable but ok as long as you are not right on top of it, turbo about the same as a fan on full blast. Expensive, but no more than so than rival units. Can you put a price on good air quality though? Thoroughly recommended.Purchased in October 2021 for $1,250.00.

I can breathe ...
Now I have the WINIX zero 4 and 5. Both easy to clean. I simply diarise the next clean. Easy to relocate around the house if needed. Fabulous value for money. The Zero 5 has hepa, carbon, pest dander, dust filters. Very responsive to air quality changes. Quiet. We leave both units on 24 hours on automatic. The difference between inside and outside air is tangible. These units mean I don't need to wear a face mask when I'm at home. Totally worth it !
In the current Sydney smoke haze, 2 of these purifiers are creating a clean air retreat through our entire house. The air quality monitor is surprisingly sensitive and detects changes when an outside door is opened only briefly 2 rooms away. Allergy problems have been noticeably reduced . The machine is lightweight enough to move from room to room with ease. Even on the regular settings it is relatively quiet, but on the sleep setting, operation is barely noticeable. It appears to be easy to clean and easy to change filters when necess...Read more

Keeping the smoke out!
We are so pleased we chose this air purifier. It has helped generally and we have been surprised that we can keep it on at night time in the bedroom without it disturbing us. On nights when it hasnt been on I wake up with allergy symptoms but when it stays on I am fine. Right now though, with bush fire smoke blanketing Sydney we have been so pleased that it is keeping our indoor air so much cleaner than outside. Very happy with this product.

Excellent performance
I bought two units from Ausclimate at a bundle purchase offer with $100 cash credit too! Been using them for few weeks, I noticed the air filter changed to red colour (high pollution) when the stove is on, candle is lighted, and even my dishwasher and wifi is on plus many more little activities which will cause the filter to filter out the air into different strength/level. I am not too sure if it even eliminates EMF but it is very interesting to see the filter changing its speed differently according to their sensor when electronics are be...Read more
ing used. I also love the quietness (the sleep mode is so nice) and the clean air in my home. I was suffered from the released of VOC (rendering) which has caused me so much discomfort to my eyes and giving me headache and hence I purchased these filters. Thankfully, with these two filters are on, my autoimmune response symptoms are all gone and my eyes are feeling normal again. My husband also finds it helps him to improve his condition of asthmatic problem in the morning. They do improve the quality of sleep at night! My dog and cat also love to lay down next to the units for the breeze too! I have Honeywell filter before and I trust this Winix, the number one brand in Korea, has done its proud and definitely worth its price tag. Love my Winix Pro 5!
My son and self are asthma and allergy sufferers and after sufficient research, I decided to purchase the Winix Pro 5 air purifier for our home. I use it mainly in our communal living areas and the machine is quiet and does a great job of purifying the air. It kicks in automatically to a higher mode when needed such as when cooking, vacuuming, cleaning and when the cat passes by. I was amazed by the amount of pet dander and dust collected on the pet filter which is changed monthly. I would recommend this product to those with allergies, asthma, pets or anyone looking to improve the air quality in their home.

Absolutely love it.
Bought it last week through appliances online. Loving it. My breathing has improved quite a bit. Had some breathing and allergy issues as we recently moved to the city. Although don’t know why the colour of the air quality indicator sometimes changes to a lower quality despite it being switched on and no outdoor windows/door being opened.

Like breathing pure oxygen
I purchased my Ausclimate air purifier 2 months ago, and while the decision to purchase one took me months of research, and scepticism that it would help my hayfever and my wife’s asthma, I bit the bullet and spent way more than I planned too on an air purifier.
Well 2 months later my wife and I are delighted with the performance of the unit.

Purifies the air but...
It never cycled through the air quality signals of red, amber and blue. It stayed on red the whole time which signals low quality air. Even when set in a small closed room (14m2) over many hours the red light stayed on. Also as my house is darker in winter, the machine automatically switched to night mode all the time (reduced air flow). This meant having to set the speed which is fine but not economical long term. The machine cleans the air very well (I'm allergic to dust and my nose stopped running) and did a good job of taking general household smells out but I returned it as the features did not seem to work. Perhaps the next model will be fine tuned. Bought from Costco for $450.

After discussing my needs with Scott I decided to purchase the Winix ZERO+ PRO5-stage. I was very sick with allergies and asthma. The first night I used the PRO 5 I had immediate relief. A real life changer.
I have suffered from hay-fever and allergies all my life and I used to wake up most mornings with blocked sinuses, headaches and being tired from a lack of good sleep. Since buying the Winix Zero+Pro 5-stage Air Purifier I am waking up with a clear head and feeling refreshed because I can now get a really good nights sleep, no sniffles or sneezing. I have it running in the bedroom throughout the night and it automatically adjusts to the required mode without disturbing my sleep because it is whisper quiet. I highly recommend this product as it has really improved my health and general well being.

When set to "auto" mode my Zero+ spontaneously reverts to "sleep auto" mode if ambient light is low - such as for watching evening TV.
My Winix AUS-9500 has no such problem.
I am then compelled to select a set fan speed with the front light remaining blue (regardless of the speed I select) giving me no indication of the actual fan speed, and no automatic change in fan speed to mirror changing air quality.
Q1. Is there a fix?
Q2. Do I have a defective unit?
4 answers
I do not understand your problem. I found that Ausclimate were more than helpful when I contacted them. I suggest you do that online at https://www.ausclimate.com.au/
Thanks for responding DerekH.
To simplify: when "auto" mode is selected and I dim the lights the Zero+ goes into an ineffective "sleep" mode, even though I haven't selected sleep mode. There are times when I would like to dim my lights without having the Zero+ fall asleep.
There is nothing in the manual to suggest such a mode even exists. According to the manual "auto" mode only cycles the fan speed (low, medium, high & turbo) in response to changes in air pollution levels.
Regards.
Allan B.Winix
Hi Raw
The new range of Winix Zero air purifiers have light sensors.
What this means is when set on 'auto' they will go into sleep mode at night. This feature is designed to ensure whisper quiet operation while sleeping so there will be no fan speed fluctuations that may disturb your sleep.
If the air purifier is set on 'auto', operating 24/7 in the same room then the fan speeds adjust accoringly during the daytime to maintain clean air. Therefore, because the air is already clean, you don't have to have the fans fluctuating on to higher speeds at night.
If used in really poor air quailty situations at night, like what we are experiencing with the smoke from the terrible bush fires then I would consider operating the air purifier's fan speed manually at night, possibley set on 'medium'. The higher the fan speed, the faster the air is filtered.
I hope I have explained this well.
If you would like further clarity, please don't hesitate to call Ausclimate on 1800 122100
P.S the Winix AUS-9500 did not have this feature.
Regards
Allan

Is it best to keep doors and windows closed when switched on? I have it running in my living room but like to keep sliding door open for air. The door does have a security mesh screen so not direct air.
2 answers
We keep outside doors and windows closed. But occasionally leave a door to the hall open but usually closed. Obviously there is a limit to the volume of air it can maintain as clean.
Best to keep them shut for maximum effectiveness. If there's no smoke or air is otherwise good outside, we don't need to have the filter on (unless someone is having a pollen or other allergy problem). Before the smoke was here we generally only used ours at night or when cooking etc.

Thank you for the ‘overall’ positive comments about your Winix Zero+ Pro 5 Stage air purifier.... Read more
We also note the comments about price comparisons with a similar Winix model sold in USA. As explanation: Winix (the manufacturer) manufactures various models internationally and design them specifically for countries of intended use. Therefore, some countries will have different pricing structures that may be influenced by Regulations & Safety & Design Standards of those countries. Yes, prices may be higher in Australia but it is also worth noting extra manufacture costs, design, electrical safety, warranties, exchange rates, transport, market size, etc. It should also be noted that all Winix models approved for sale and recommended for use in Australia have the prefix ‘AUS’. These AUS models are covered by an Australian 2 year warranty whereas international models have no warranty at all. Unfortunately, manufacturing for the smaller Australian market comes at a considerable cost. Regards Winix Australia
