Works well but quality lets it down
We purchased a Dyson V11 Pro in May last year direct from Dyson Australia. It was working effectively up to late November last year when the carpet head stopped working. We took it to Dyson Service in Melbourne only to be told it was working when they tested it. On Friday we were using the machine and the noise from the power head suggested it was not working properly. It sounded like it had sucked up a bag of marbles. We took the brush bar out and noticed that pieces of plastic had sheered off the gear end of the power drive system. We took it...Read more
to Dyson Service today and they were extremely apologetic. Initially they advised a minimum 5 day wait for a new power head from Sydney and they rang later this morning to advise the entire V11 Pro vacuum would be replaced with a new one. It's a great vacuum cleaner but the quality issues are a worry for something that expensive.Purchased in May 2021 at Dyson for $1,199.00.

THIS VAC IS USELESS WHEN IT COMES TO HAIR NOT HAPPY JAN.
If you have hair then expect to clean your vac every time you use it it gets stuck everywhere and you have to pull it out everytime otherwise the roller at the back stops spinning and now 7 to 8 months the rollers are missing hairs the back roller HARDLEY rolls i have wooden floors and the felt on the bottom it will not last the year. And if you like vacuuming one way well that's all you can do don't go back and forth the dirt will flick away or get stuck at the back or not suck it up at alI vac under the bed and so forth the vac cuts out I'v...Read more
e had enough. And for the money HARDLEY WORTH it. Could off had a ducted vac for the same money and it would have vac the car as well where this can't so not happy with this product waited so long to a fort it. Going to return it back and get my money back not worth 1200 dollars in my opinion . And I have been vacuuming for 30 years so to rate this product its like useing a 30 dollar black and Decker product where you would but in bin. But now I'm going to have to waist my time to take it back and explain my self to the guy. Like it's not bad enough that I've had to clean this thing every time i use it for 30bucks I would have just but it in the bin.1 comment

Totally, totally worth every cent.
Best upright vacuum ever! I have floorboards and carpet and use it on both without a problem. Totally, totally worth every cent. Picks up every speck of dirt, fluff and hair. Hides easily away between use in small hall cupboard and is always ready for action. An absolute winner.

You know your house is clean after using this!
The Dyson V11 Absolute Pro has been very satisfying to use and when you see how much dust it pulls up from the depths of the carpet, you definitely know your house is as clean as possible!
Many years ago we purchased the first Dyson cordless vac and we loved the convenience and lightweight structure of the model but as time went on, you could see the suction just wasn't enough.
The new V11 is a little heavier in the hand due to a larger motor and barrel BUT it is not a deterrent from owning one of these amazing vacs. We vacuumed the house with ...Read more

Love my beautiful gold Absolute pro V11
I have owned a V8 for 2 years and loved that so much i gave it to my workplace and upgraded and bought new Absolute Pro V11. Purchased directly form Dyson and the extra brushes and accessories are great. Battery run time is greatly improved and i love the fact it changes suction strength depending on the surface it detects. My home has a fully ducted vacuum system in it but i still much prefer the convenience of just grabbing the cordless for a quick job and it is so much better for doing the staircase. I have seen a few comments here saying...Read more
it does not work well on hard floors and i admit sometimes on the tiles, some dirt may be pushed forward and not picked up on first pass but it gets it on the second pass. I feel on the carpet, because of the rotating head, it picks up dirt much much better than even my ducted vacuum and lifts the pile on the carpet really well. Also the Dyson customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this product. I was not given it for free to write a review, or offered anything, i just wanted to support what i think is a quality productPurchased in November 2021 at Dyson.

Great battery life and an excellent set of accessories
I purchased the absolute pro v11 from the Dyson website including all the accessories. I use the vacuum on my hardwood floor and tiles, and the two different heads are excellent for their respective purposes. The soft roller head is slightly smaller which allows me to navigate through my decorative posts. The accessories are very useful.
I upgraded from the v8 and the best part about this vacuum is its battery life. which is 3 times better than v8. My only complaint is that the v11 should have had a trigger that once clicked stays on instead of continuously pressing it with our finger. If you are vacuuming for a while your finger will start to hurt over time.

Why did I wait so long?
Purchased this in July 2022 and got a deal including the docking stand.
This vacuum is everything I needed and more.
I haven't used many of the attachments, purely because the high torque cleaner head is smart enough to go from polished porcelain tiles to plush carpet and adjust the power as necessary.
Run time on a full charge is more than enough to get through my four bedroom house and I'm so happy with the vacuum- i'm actually disgusted in how much dust, cat hair and general debris I must have been missing before with my old corded Hoover machine.
I will never go back to any other vacuum again!

DO NOT USE ON DUST!!
I normally am a massive fan of Dyson products and the innovation (they have some great gear) .... but this vacuum really was the WORST Dyson products I have ever bought and their Customer Service was truly shocking :-(
I had used the V11 to pick up general dust around my home when after 6 weeks it totally stopped working (wouldn't charge or turn on). Turned into a $1200 paperweight.
I contacted Dyson and advised them I wanted a refund, which under my Consumer Rights I was able to do given this was a major fault. I really want a vacuum that ...Read more
would last 3-4 years for this money (not 6 weeks!) Dyson did EVERYTHING they could to avoid giving a refund and even accused myself of using the V11 for "renovation work". To which I advised that I certainly did nothing of the sorts! I was also accused by Dyson of not leaving the filter long enough to dry after washing it, when each time I did exactly as per the instructions and left it to dry for 24 hours. They advised me that "dust" had got into the circuit board which has caused it to stop working. This is a $1200 vacuum … how is it that "dust" broke it?? Dyson still refused to refund myself for the faulty product advising this is "construction dust or ash" and that it shouldn't be used to pick up this kind of dust (although they can't be sure what dust it was). It seems if you have a V11 then you need to do scientific studies prior to each time you vacuum to ensure none of this dust is present in your home or else your V11 will stop working (and Dyson will insist this is your fault … ). Interestingly enough I have now read other reviews on here and seen I am not alone and this is not a "one off" … For the price of this product, you would not expect this kind of fault due to "dust" getting into parts it shouldn't … really puts the quality of the product and the 'fit for purpose' into doubt. It's like saying a bathroom tap broke because it got wet!Purchased in July 2021 at Dyson for $1,200.00.

Hi Anthony,
We're keen to look into this further. ... Read more
It's important that a washed filter is left to dry completely, before reattaching it to the machine, leaving it at least 24 hours. Depending on the weather conditions, drying time can take longer. Our technicians generally take photographs of the incoming state of components during each machine's assessment, so you're welcome to send us an email (including your machine's serial number and your details) to [email protected] to request your machine's photos and to discuss this further.Yep, I'm told the photos show "dust has got into the circuit board and stopped it working" by one of your Customer Services people ... ld concern you guys as the manufacturer that a vacuum has a potential fault that can cause this. I would say a vacuum "designed to pick up dust" shouldn't do this. Again, it's like buying a tap and told not to get it wet :-S The instructions with the filter were very much followed - although I didn't use a calibrated Moisture Meter to ensure 0% moisture content but it felt dry to me when I put it back in after 24-28 hours. All I have had is allegations but zero help from Dyson and have now refused to refund the faulty item (which is now sadly a matter for Fair Trade NSW given this is deemed a "Major Fault" and was VERY MUCH used in line with the instructions!).For those reading this review (1341 people at time of posting :-) ... a quick update.

WHY DID IT TAKE ME HALF MY LIFE TO BUY ONE – SMARTEST DEICISON I HAVE MADE THIS YEAR
I have only had my Dyson V11 Absolute Pro for a few weeks and just in that time alone it has saved me so much time plugging in and unplugging and setting up the old Dyson. I never wanted one simply because I had nowhere to place the charging system on a wall in the house. When I saw this one advertised with a free Dok Station I ordered it immediately. It sits in a corner of a spare bedroom hardly noticeable yet so accessible.
It is something I will never do without again. I was sceptical about the battery life and the actual suction on carpe...Read more

Life Changing
This vacuum has been an absolute dream. I have had it for about 2 months now and the love has not faded. Purchased for double story house with floorboards tiles carpet and rugs. It does not skip a beat. I have actually made use of most of the attachments which are great. Initially I thought the battery life would not be enough but I can do the whole house with minutes to spare. Great for stairs too. Easy to clean, easy to empty the waste, easy to charge. One thing to make note of is the weight, perfectly fine for me to do my house, even the children have a go ( not the whole house unfortunately) but it can be heavy for week wrist people.
Highly recommended!!!

Am blown away by this V11 vacuum. I didn't realise how much dust was hiding in our carpet until now. I also love how it tells you the location of a blockage, this can be so frustrating! Cant fault this machine.

Questions & Answers
Laraine Anne B.asked
I'm just surprised that on the Dyson web site it says this vacuum will run for up to 60 minutes on a full charge. It takes an hour and a half to properly vacuum an average 3-bedroom home. I have four bedrooms and it certainly takes me this long.
4 answers
Hmm I would say that it’s 60 minutes on Eco mode (low power). What it does really well is automatically ups the power when transitioning from tiles/wood to carpet - my 4 bedroom place takes probably 20-30 minutes with this but probably 40-50 with a regular taking into account pulling it behind me, switching power points etc.
I don't pull a heavy vac behind me or continually unplug and plug in. I have a central vacuuming system. But most people don't vacuum properly. You have to take it SLOWLY to allow the machine time to pick up the deep-down dust in the carpet, which is why it should take an hour and a half to vaccuum an average home. Most people use a vacuum like a scrubbing machine. If you follow the present fashion of clattery bare floorboards it probably doesn't take as long, of course.

Hi Laraine Anne B.
The V11 has three modes of suction: Boost, Auto/Med and Eco.
The run time these modes provide depends on the floor surface you're cleaning and, whether the tool selected is motorised or unmotorised.
Boost mode provides 5-10 minutes of run time, Auto/Med mode gives approximately 18-40 minutes of run time, and Eco offering a run time of up to 60 minutes with a non-motorised head.
You can find a video explaining these modes and how to switch between them here: https://youtu.be/Sk7C9sYn-Mk?t=29
