Loved it at first but then....
I was looking forward to using my very first Dyson. I use a Miele plug in and a Makita cordless.
I was surprised that the machine doesn't really come with any proper instruction booklet. It was easy to set up and comes with lots of bits and pieces all package well.
I charged the battery overnight and then used it the next day. I must say I was super impressed. It was so easy to maneuver and sucked up amazingly. I have hard tiled floors and it was a breeze to clean. The carpet in the bedrooms which looked cleaned picked up dirt I didn't even ...Read more

An Incredible Cordless Vacuum
Dyson V11 Outsize Review.
I've always never believed that a cordless vacuum cleaners could be as good as a corded vacuums, mainly because there usually under-powered and don't have much suction power as the corded vacuums, which was why I always stuck with corded vacuums, my corded vacuum that I currently have is the Dyson cinetic big ball multi floor which is a great vacuum cleaner, however there was a problem, having to vacuum my car was a hassle, because the carport has no power and I would have to use a 10 metre extension power cord just s...Read more
o I could clean my car's interior, the other problem is that it is heavy to move around and attachments are quite limited for tasks (being the multi-floor version, but because of my perception of cordless vacuums, this practice with corded vacuums went on for a very long time. However my perception of cordless vacuums changed dramatically when I got the Dyson V11 outsize cordless vacuum. What's in the Box and cost? This V11 outsize comes in a large rectangular box and as you open it you'll find that it comes with the following; The V11 outsize unit itself (with the battery already attached), charger with wall docking station, 1 wand, wand storage clip, high torque cleaner head, soft roller cleaner head, mini motorised tool, mini soft dusting brush, stubborn dirt brush, combination tool and the crevice tool. The V11 outsize cost $1,299 RRP. Design & Features: From a design point, I like it a lot, its quite unique, but unlike the regular V11, the V11 outsize has a bigger barrel, 1.9 litres which turns out to be 150% bigger than the regular V11 to be exact, this is more than plenty for full house vacuum in my case and along with that, there are 18 cyclones for powerful suction and Dyson's exclusive Hyperdymium motor technology which (according to Dyson's website) spins up to 125,000 rpm which in turn is suppose to create to most powerful suction of any cordless vacuum cleaner. The other feature of this unit is the 'DLS' system which adapts to your floor type (in Auto mode) and automatically adjusts the amount of power for the type floor you are vacuuming. There are other good features too like a very nice and graphical display on the back of the unit and a removable 7 cell battery pack and a completely sealed filtration system which also acts to absorb vibrations and reduce noise.Similar opinion? Beautiful, really powerful, well built fantastic tools supplied - but it's a brute.
My first impressions of the Dyson were that it's simply brilliant. The unit and attachments are very well made, it’s well supplied with fittings. It should be, at this price point though at time of review, The Good Guys are listing it at $1299.
Minor Grizzles
There’s a bit of an issue at first, knowing about the fittings i.e. what does what? I would have preferred a brochure, naming/showing function refer to web videos for same.

If Flash Gordon ran a cleaning empire......
It's a vacuum cleaner. It works. That's the global design brief for this machine and it does that admirably well. So does my $200 old cheapo knock-off 'Janitor' wet and dry barrel cleaner that plugs into the wall.
That's absolutely where the similarity ends. The old one is now relegated to the shed.

hour's cleaning job. The mechanics of the thing are what Dyson has become known for. The 'cyclone' design is housed in post apocalyptic laser-canon styling. The entire thing is a clever a piece of engineering. The packaging is all recyclable with not a shred of wasted material or space. The device itself and myriad attachments do what they are supposed to do exceptionally well. The V11 does require a little getting used to. For example at one stage I thought I might have to resuscitate the thing because it started hiccupping and the (clever!) digital screen displayed the 'Airways Blocked' message. It then proceeded with an animation that showed mostly what to do. That was unsuccessful a couple of times until I realised it was the clogged air intake. All sorted but you need to just sit back and think it through. On its first use I dumped the contents of the dirt container on the floor because curiosity - "What does this red thing do?"Purchased in March 2021.

Best Vacuum Cleaner, Ever!
Those who have read my reviews know that I have criteria that need to be met for me to like a product. For example: ‘does the product do what it claims”, ‘how’s the quality’ and then ‘price’. Those are my initial criteria. I might add some later on, such as customer service, handling and so on.
I was asked to review this vacuum cleaner. I don’t get paid for reviews but I can keep the item. This did not reflect in any way in my review.
Ironically my last vacuum cleaner died after only 6 months of use. Had I known I would get this product, I ...Read more
wouldn’t have bought a new vacuum cleaner only a few weeks ago. OK, I’ll tell you now, I really like this vacuum cleaner. Why? Let’s go step by step. The packaging is great. Someone actually put a lot of thought into the packaging. Instead of the standard Styrofoam and endless plastic we are accustomed to, 100% of this packaging is recyclable cardboard and a bit of paper. No plastic! My full-time job has to do with waste and recycling. I therefore appreciate the effort by Dyson to pack this vacuum in 100% recyclable materials. The safety sheet is an A4 sized document. Yay, I didn’t need a magnifying glass to read it. However, the other documents are A6. I had to get magnifying glasses to read them. There was no manual enclosed only the safety sheet, promotional brochure, an installation guide for the wall mount and a battery guide.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

What an awesome beast!
From the beginning, it is evident that the packaging has been well thought out with each piece in it's own little box, so nothing can move during transit. This is important because parcels are handled many times before they reach our front door and Dyson's packaging shows they care that we receive their product in pristine condition.
Being anxious to test drive the V11 Outsize, I charged it immediately and admit that my initial thought was that the weight would make it awkward to manoeuvre, but I soon discovered you should never make assump...Read more
tions as this vacuum is extremely well balanced making it so easy to use, and the weight is definitely not an issue. It's also surprisingly quiet for such a powerful vacuum, an all-round winner. It has power to spare and the amount of dust/fluff/etc that it sucks up is absolutely amazing. From shag pile rugs to low pile carpet to floorboards or tiles, nothing is left behind and the 1.9 litre bin with the magic red release handle means every last bit of debris goes into the bin without the need to get your hand in there. A short pile floor rug in a sewing area usually collects a lot of thread, so I knew this would be a good test and wasn't disappointed here either and while I didn't time it, I know the V11 had this rug cleaned in less than a quarter of the time it usually takes. Having adjustable power levels is another great idea, as one of my shag pile rugs is on an outside deck so it is always dusty and the 'Boost' mode had it clean in a few minutes. Here I accidentally sucked up a dry Eucalypt leaf which blocked the power head and sure enough there was a message on the LCD immediately. Next I selected the Auto mode and was amazed at the amount of dust and debris in the large bin, which is super easy to empty by pressing the large red handle and aiming it towards the bin. Too easy!! Carpeted stairs were the next test, and of course, it passed (once again) with flying colours. I tried both the small motorised head and the large motorised head and while both produced great results I think the choice would depend on stair traffic and the amount of dirt from shoes etc.Purchased in April 2021.

Highly Intelligent engineering comprehensively supremely fits the job
The V11 outsize should have at least six stars and all its competition no more than five. But some will be unhappy with it because it is too big, heavy and clumsy for people my size (male 5’7”) and smaller people; and I’m happy knowing I got around such objections and more (and leaving out a star gets more attention so is more helpful, I hope).

Game changing cordless vac that performs better than a corded vac!
I’ve been using this vacuum for a couple of weeks now, having previously owned the Dyson V7.
Out of the box (which was well packaged and a bit like a game of Jenga) the vac was super easy to put together. The massive size of the head was a surprise as was the sheer amount of accessories - they have thought of everything!
With the bulk of my home having bamboo flooring I was most keen to try this out on my hard floor. I also have a Dyson V7 which struggles with picking up crumbs on the hard floor unless a fluffy head is attached.
The V11 Ou...Read more
tsize also comes with a fluffy head, but to be honest I’ve had such excellent results with the outsized head that I haven’t bothered to try it. Let’s talk about the outsized head. It evenly picks up dust for the entire length of the head. Cleaning time and energy is saved due to the ability to clean a room in just a few sweeps. The suction is very strong too.Purchased in March 2021.

Not small, not cheap, but an excellent vacuum
Am social distancing due to COVID-19, so have had plenty of time to do a detailed review! Everything came in one large rectangular box, and the various pieces were very securely packed, so unboxing took a little while, but afterwards assembling it was very quick. Most of the packing material was paper based, so close to 100% recyclable which is a nice touch (just a couple of stickers and cable ties that would not be recyclable). I had a quick play to make sure it worked, and on pressing the trigger a message appeared on the screen showing it ha...Read more
d 35% charge with a recommendation that it be charged first before use - so I then plugged it in and left it to charge. The charger plugs directly into the battery pack - if you use the wall mount, the charger cable is simply clipped into to the wall mount itself. When on charge the colour screen on the back of the vacuum goes off after a while, but pressing a button under it lights it up again briefly. It had fully charged from 35% in about 4 hours. As a bonus, you can easily swap the battery in a couple of seconds, so if you have a larger house you could always buy a spare battery so you could swap mid clean. Whilst it was charging I hunted through the packing material in case I'd missed anything. The box contained a small information leaflet for the battery and charger, a larger regulatory and compliance booklet, and another small leaflet with instructions on how to install the wall mount. Taped to the barrel was a leaflet with some basic info and colour photos on the auto, boost and eco modes, how to empty the bin, and a link (and barcode) to access more info online. There are two connectors on the wall mount to hold two of the accessory heads. The remaining accessories will need to be put in a drawer for safe keeping. My vacuum came complete with wall dock, charger, wand (extension pole), XL cleaner head, mini motorised head, standard head, combination tool, crevice tool, soft dusting tool, dirt brush, and a 'wand clip'. Most of these are fairly self explanatory, although the wand clip (only discovered the name after reading the online manual) was slightly mysterious as there is no picture showing how it might be used. Some quick google searches shows it lets you clip one or two tools to the wand itself - I think that could be annoying (it's heavy and awkward enough as it is) so might leave that in the drawer. Frankly, we'll probably only use the larger head, and just maybe sometimes the crevice and perhaps the soft dusting tool. It would have been nice to have in the box a little more info on what each tool is for, rather than having to consult something online, but that's not a negative comment just a suggestion.Purchased in March 2021.

Diamond Standard Cordless Vac
The quality of this unit is evident as soon as you open the carton. Solid feel. Well packed. Plenty of accessories. 3 powered heads - two larger ones have motor inside drum - should be very reliable. The smallest has a belt drive, but is still powerful. Heads / tools easy to fit & remove. It is whisper quiet, even with heads running (no sign of high frequency of earlier Cyclones). The wide heads pick up close to edges and work well on wooden floor and carpet. Adjustments on heads allow for different surfaces. Comfortable handle and trigger. T...Read more
ouch button on top adjusts power (from ECO to Auto to V. powerful), and battery usage /time-to-run in each mode is by LED graphic. Battery life on ECO (hard surfaces) is excellent. The ball-jointed steering of the heads is very positive. The mounting bracket is easy to fit to wall, and easy to mount/demount unit. Charging is automatic when you hang it up - blue lights confirm it is charging - go out when full. Emptying the huge and very clear dust bin is very civilised,, with the press of a single button near the top of the unit. You will never get dusty with this. Removing/refitting the beater rollers is also very easy, with a single button. A couple of negative points: All this quality and power comes with a weight penalty. But the power and ease of use makes you soon forget about that. The depth of the handle with the underslung battery, means that you can't get the handle close to the floor for getting under lowest cabinets / beds. The large bin is possibly excessively large for a domestic unit. I wouldn't want to be carrying that much dirt around. The booklets need streamlining - a 24 page A4 size booklet on statutory requirements in 8 languages, a waste of materials. On the other hand, a tiny fold-out named "What you need to know" (in only 2 languages), gives a bare minimum (inadequate amount) of operating instructions. In summary, a top shelf machine that is near perfection in upright Cordless Vacuum Cleaners.Purchased in March 2021.

Powerful Unit
First things first....super powerful vac no doubt about that, noise level as you would expect, decent sized dust bin to it and also easy emptying of the dust bin, didn't have to get my hand in the dustbin to get anything out, just gave it a, little shake over the garbage and it just fell out, so that's a bonus, I used it only vinyl flooring and carpet and it cleaned both very well, what I particularly like about this vac is the power head brush doesn't get clogged up with hair and dirt it all actually goes into the dust bin of the Vac, my old V...Read more
ac has the power head brush and it was so clogged up with hair I had to cut it off the brush as it got all tangled around it, this Dyson Vac does not have that issue and because it's so powerful everything goes straight into the dust bin, so here are my likes....it's a powerful unit and easy to manouvre, it's got a decent sized dustbin and easy to empty, the button on the unit to go between the different modes is excellent because you can pick and choose which mode you want and it will tell you how much battery time you will have if you use that particular mode, it's fantastic for doing my 2 flights of carpeted stairs I have inside as it comes with the smaller head attachment for stairs, and charging wasn't to slow, after I got my parcel, I unpacked it set it up and within like 4 hours I was able to take it for a test run even though the battery wasn't fully charged, I used it the next day after a fully overnight charge and still got results as I would expect, I had a storm coming so I unplugged the unit so it wasn't going to get fried if I got hit with lightening and to my amazement the unit had been unplugged from the power for like 2 days and I used it on the second day only and it was still going to give me 1 hours worth of vacuuming on Eco mode, can't complain about that at all, so it also holds it's charge well once unplugged from the mains, my dislikes of the unit, it's a tad heavy when holding and that would be attributed to the battery pack and my other dislike is I had to keep holding the button in for it to work, but that's it, everything else with this Vac was spot on and exactly what I have been looking forSimilar opinion? Dyson V11 Outsize is king for suction but a little big and heavy for a portable stick vac
Like most, I have gone through quite a few vacuum cleaners over the years. Several worthwhile models to mention include:
1. Trusty corded VAX V11 (red) wet and dry vacuum cleaner we still have and use. It has has never missed a beat over the (20) years and power level never needed to be lifted from the lowest setting! It is bagged with large capacity. The only problem is falling over when I am too enthusiastic. It doesn't have any bumper on the "waistline" of the motor bucket and tends to rub against door frames and wall when I drag it around ...Read more
not paying attention to it. I added a belt to it so it looks like Santa claus. 2. Corded Miele C2 bagged vacuum cleaner which is small, lightweight, powerful and has good filtration because of the HEPA AirClean filter. 3. Black and Decker Pivot Dustbuster, bagless and cordless with great suction and small. But I don't like the loud high pitch sound it makes. 4. Makita LXT handheld vac (DCL180Z) which is cheap and nasty but good for hard floor, favoured by many tradies because it uses the LXT 18V battery like all other Makita tools you can easily get several or smaller or larger size (capacity) based on your needs. Most Powerful Adaptive Suction Power This Dyson V11 Outsize is my first Dyson vac. As far as suction is concerned, I am completely sold! It is the undisputed king and (run time aside) even trumps over majority of mains powered vacuum cleaners. I guess the clear bin really shows off how well this Dyson works in terms of the cyclone action as well as the large amount of dust and loose items it pulls out and this adds to the satisfaction. We vacuum the floor every week and I couldn't believe how much it captured first time we used it. It easily filled several bins just going over the rugs in our fully floor-boarded home. We do have a fair number of rugs but I frankly did not expect this significant amount of difference. Rugs look visibly cleaner. Given this is the primary purpose of this machine, it is 10/10. There are three power settings - Eco, Med and Boost in which Med automatically adjusts based on resistance (only) if you use the direct drive head. Therefore, it is also called the Auto mode. Keep it in Med mode, it is fantastic!Purchased in March 2021.

Firstly, I feel very privileged to be an Ambassador for ieatwords.com.au
As an ambassador, I have been asked to review the Dyson V11 Outsize vacuum cleaner.
The people who designed the packaging for this product would be excellent at Origami. Every single accessory is individually packed resulting in no marking on anything caused by rubbing. Some of the shapes of the little cardboard boxes and dividers were just amazing.

e. As with all battery powered tools and devices, the battery should be fully charged before first use. We have an unusual home in so far as we have around 60 square meters of solid red brick flooring, which were hand laid by the owner/builder. Naturally, they are not perfectly even and level, so this vacuum cleaner is not really suitable for this area as it was scraping the bottom of the plastic head unit. However, in the middle of this area we have a large pure wool rug. I quickly moved off the bricks and onto the rug and was truly amazed at the amount of dirt the cleaner found hiding within it. I moved into our bedroom which has fairly new woollen carpet (18 months old), so I was not surprised at how much loose fluff the cleaner captured. This is typical of new woollen carpet from my experience, however there was also an obvious amount of dirt combined with the fluff, so again I was very impressed as we have a 2000 watt Miele barrel vacuum which had not removed this dirt. The next day I vacuumed the lounge room where we have a very large carpet square (5x4 m) sitting on a coconut fibre flooring (very heavy duty and popular some years ago, but soon to be replaced) and again the Dyson found a surprising amount of dirt we didn’t know we had. Just in case you were wondering, we have a mud brick house so the flooring probably makes more sense now.Purchased in March 2021.

Dyson - the name that sets the standard
Ok, before I start I have to say I have been a fan of Dyson products for years. We have been using a plug in Dyson vacuum for over 10 years and never had a reason to replace it or upgrade it - we thought! Then I tried the cordless V11 Outsize and can't believe how good it is.
We have used it in several situations so far, in order to give it a decent work out and it has impressed us at every turn. There are a couple of things I would have liked to be different perhaps, but neither are major and more about them later.

evel settings - Eco, Medium and Boost. MOST normal cleans will be quite satisfactorily on ECO and we can get around an hour of cleaning on one charge - depending on which head we are using and on what settings. The Medium suction will drop about a third of the cleaning time off that figure and the boost - well it will only last about 8 minutes, but it will get in SO deep that you would only use it sparingly or after a LONG period without cleaning. The tools that comes with the V11 Outsize certainly cover all the requirements you could want. We have used it on hard floors and medium pile carpets (made them look as good as new) and inside the car, which had been left a very long while, as using the previous Dyson was more of a task as we had to find somewhere nearby to plug it in and carry the entire unit outside. Now with the cordless, we just unclip the wand and take two heads outside and whoosh - its done! Of course, we have tried a cordless before, and basically given them away as being too gutless to do the job, but the V11 is on a completely different level in every respect and out sucks many of the plug in models we have used.Purchased in March 2021.

jor punch, and as a clean freak I couldn’t ask for a better machine. Despite vacuuming the whole house with my old vacuum, I wanted to give it a go. I was SHOCKED to see how much dust and dirt this vacuum picked up - especially considering I thought my house was “clean”. I vacuumed for about 30 minutes and had no trouble with the battery power. I loved that the auto mode switched the suction power when I went from hardwood floors to our area rugs. The brush on the floor attachment is strong enough to pull things off the rugs, but it does NOT damage the hardwood finish. It's super simple to pull out at a moment's notice to clean up dry spills, use the power brush to clean cat fur from cushions, or just do a quick traffic lane maintenance mid-week. No hoses to trip over or cords to fight with. I love the suction on this vacuum it is AMAZING we have a Maine Coon long haired cat and his fur was no match for it at all. It sucked up on boost mode perfectly. The hardwood floors are squeaky clean right now! I love the LCD screen telling me which mode and how much battery life. I love the ease of use and weight is not too heavy even for even me, someone that has mobility issues and uses a walking stick, this was just easy, no issue at all.Purchased in March 2021.
