Why is my dyson v6 fully charging but only lasting for 2 minutes?

Is the power suction button on?How old is your dyson?May be it needs a battery change?Always make sure that you don't put it on charging right away after using give it some time to cool off and then put it on charging, it helps to prolong the battery life I guess.

Thanks Tash,
It needs a new Battery which costs About $125, only 29 Months old. Have always done the right thing with looking after it as it was so expensive

Can you use a Dyson Tangle free turbo tool on a Dyson V6 Fluffy?

So I just bought this and realised it doesn't come with a motorhead for carpet like the uk version. Can I use the fluffy brush on short carpet or is there a head that I could buy to fit it?

Hi, I purchased my Dyson V6 Fluffy knowing my sister has the same model, and used it on short pile rugs/hardwood floors. She uses the upholstery head that came with it if she needs a deeper clean on the rugs. I have been doing the same for the last 6 months (I have a mix of laminate and tiles with area rugs, both short and medium pile) and find it does a pretty decent job even just with the regular 'hard floor' head. With rugs I vacuum side to side, and with the direction of the pile. Hope this helps!

The Soft Roller Cleanerhead (Fluffy) is designed primarily for hard floors however it will also work on carpet. There is no carpet specific tool that is sold as a compatible accessory for the V6 Fluffy, apologies for any disappointment.

Dyson v6 is fully charged, after approx 30 secs of use it cuts out flashing amber then flashing blue. I put it on charge for 5 secs and it works again but cuts out after approx 30 seconds. I've completely cleaned the whole device out and still happening??

Hi! I'm planning to get a dyson fluffy, but I was wondering if I need to vacuum my medium sized carpet once in a while, will the fluffy head still be able to do it? I thought about the possibility of using the mini motorized tool but due to it's narrow size I would guess that it might take quite a while to be able to cover the carpet.

Thanks for your question.

It depends on your specific carpet, however overall the Soft Roller Head on our Fluffy machines would not se suitable for use on carpet, and we would recommend using a machine with bristles in the brush bar instead such as an Absolute or Animal model as these tend to be designed to work on both hard floor and carpet surfaces.

Hi my dyson v6 total clean sv06 keeps cutting out after 30 seconds of use, the max button will flash 12 times before it cuts out and the led light on the battery flashes 10 times, when i plug it back in to charge the battery light is Amber, I've also cleaned all the filters, what could be the problem please thanks

Hi Gemma,

Thanks for your question.

An amber light hen charging indicates that the machine is outside of it's normal operating temperature, below 5 or above 35 degrees, this can also occur when the machine is being used in the Max suction mode. Please place the machine in an area that stays within this temperature range and leave it to charge there for 3.5 hours.

It sounds like there may be obstruction somewhere in the machine. The machine will often also make a pulsating noise with an obstruction.

My V6 Fluffy is three weeks old and started blowing hot air out of the top of the machine near the max button. Anyone else gaveling this issue?

It's normal for warm air to be expelled from the motor when the machine is in use. There will be more air expelled when the machine is set to the Maximum suction mode as the airflow is tripled. Hold in the Max button while the machine is running to switch Max on or off.

Check if the filter has been put back correctly. If this doesn’t solve your problem you may need to ring the Dyson helpline.

Thanks for your question.

A red flashing light indicates an issue with either the battery or the main body. Due to the electrical components in this machine, the only part of the V6 Fluffy that can be safely washed is the conical filter, and it must be 100% dry before reattaching it to the machine. We advise to allow at least 24 hours drying time for the filter.

In the standard power mode without a motorhead the run time is up to 20 minutes, with a motorhead attached on this mode the run time is up to 17 minutes, and on the Maximum suction mode the run time is up to 6 minutes.

My v6 fluffy will be charged all night but will only work for a few minutes then the motor run

I have a Dyson V6 Fluffy & there’s power going from the main body through the stick but power isn’t reaching any of the brush heads when I attach them. I’ve cleaned all the brush heads & the prongs that attach but to no avail! Any ideas?

I want to get an attachment for cleaning carpets, which rotating head will fit the v6 fluffy? Tried one of my older models heads (dc35) and it doesn’t fit. There seems to be a difference in v6 and v6 absolute also. Confused!

My Dyson V6 Fluffy doesn’t hold its charge. When I put it on the charging unit the blue light comes on and then goes out after a couple of minutes. I get about 30seconds of hoovering time. If I remove it and replace it the charger and repeat this process it will eventually fully charge. Do I need a new charger or a battery?

That doesn’t sound right this is probably a question for Dyson or if you purchased extended warranty through the company you bought it from ask them. Dyson are really helpful on the phone though! Definitely follow this up.
