We bought this oven as a temporary one about 2 months ago, until we can afford to renovate our kitchen. It replaces an old Ariston, which I have never been happy about. So far so good. A roomy interior to take bakeware that wouldn't fit my old stingy Ariston. I've used most of the features and been very pleased. A good bright light and large clear door to easily see baking. It's quicker to cook than my old oven, and I can cook at lower temperatures because the fan options do work. It still takes some time to heat up to temp (but so did my o...
Read moreld one). It has 6 shelves, so a few options to place dishes etc. I haven't found the shelving unsafe, but I am careful when I pull them out to remove dishes. I like the idea of being able to remove the glass for cleaning. Gripes: no grill tray included. I knew this when I bought it, but really, why provide a grill and no trays? It did come with a large baking tray and a flat piece of aluminium, which I suppose could be a biscuit tray? Unnecessary. It does have a cooling fan that runs for up to 15 mins after most baking/grilling. This wasn't really mentioned upfront, but isn't an issue as it it quite quiet anyway. The labeling of the dials is trendily grey and almost impossible to read unless there is good kitchen lighting. Again, doesn't affect its performance, but is annoying. Backlighting of the dials may have been a smarter design? But overall, I'm very pleased with this one, and it might even go into my new kitchen in due course!

Terrible oven. Noisy fan. Blows cold air. Can't see function buttons.
EXTREMELY NOISY fan continues to run 1 hour and 20 minutes AFTER you have switched the oven off and finished your cooking. Fisher & Paykel advise us that this is a feature of the oven to cool it down and is a normal function of the oven. So forget about having a relaxing meal if your dining room is near the kitchen, as the fan noise if very loud and whirring in the background of your meal.
Oven also blows very cold air out of the top of it the whole time it is cooking. So don't put it under your cook top because it blows the cold air right int...

This is a basic oven, yes, however it does everything I want it to. We wanted a cheaper nice looking oven to add a second oven in our kitchen. Haven't had a problem. I didn't even notice it didn't come with a grill rack like the other reviewers however this is probably because I wouldn't use it anyway. It doesn't come with a lot of trays but I had some spare from my other oven which fit. It is a tad more uneven with cooking than my other oven (an older Ariston) but it does a good job on the whole.
The cooling down function can be a bit disconcerting but you get used to it.

NO GRILL RACK / ANTS GET INTO OVEN
I purchased this oven yesterday and these are the noticeable irritations with it.
No grill rack or grid (these are optional extras) your really unable to successfully use your grill without these not included accessories?? I thought the factory had forgot to pack it but the store I purchased it from contacted fisher and paykel and were told it doesn't come with one?( This is a basic standard model that's what was told ) It's a basic accessory I thought, even cheaper models would have this as standard.
Conditioning the oven, this takes nearly 2 ...

We purchased this oven new from a local major retailer and found that although it does come with a roast dish, the grill rack and/or grid is NOT included and has to be purchased separately as an 'accessory'. I have never experienced this situation before and contacted the company to confirm that this was, indeed, the case. They confirmed that it was, and offered no explanation other than it was not included for this oven model. To purchase this tray would cost around $40. It is not the value to which I object, it is the fact that what should be included as a standard item is now deemed, at least by Fisher and Paykel, not to be so. Bad show. Won't purchase another product from this company
Questions & Answers
Hi Fisher and Paykel, can you tell me why my new OB60 oven take an hour to get to 200 deg and over and hour the fan runs to cool it down, this was not mentioned nor explained at time of purchase and I would not have purchased had it been. As this is clearly not energy efficient to do theses functions . Can you please advise what can be done to resolve this as it is not fit for purpose
My oven is doing the same thing on the Pizza Bake function, I’m waiting for the Appliance Technician who came out to get back to me with an appropriate response on how to fix it.
Hi I was told by F&P that if they sent a technican out and they found it was normal there would be a charge . That why I asked the question to the tech department first and they said it's normal . Ma...
Read moreybe normal for F&P ovens but no others we have had do this . Clearly I chose a cheap, poorly made oven . I won't make that mistake again and will warn as many people as I can no to buyDoes anyone who owns this oven use the Pizza Bake function? I'd like to know how long your oven takes to get to 200 degrees, mine is taking up to and over an hour.
Hi I have had the same issue with this oven, takes forever to heat up and then the cool fan runs for an hour and a half .....terrible, would not have purchased if I knew this ...
If it’s still under warranty contact Fisher and Paykel and get someone out to look at it, this is a fault I believe as no oven should take this long to heat up unless there is something wrong.
Consumer law says you can take the oven back to the place of purchase and get a full refund under "not fit for purpose" before the warranty runs out.
Still waiting FISHER AND PAYKEL REPRESENTIVES? I sent an Email via your website in regards to the above issues and no response yet. I should have read the reviews about your customer service on this website I would have saved $100s of dollars and purchased a better oven.
Hi Karen, Don't hold your breath waiting for a reply from F & P. If my experience is anything to go by, you might be waiting a while i.e. for ever. When will companies like Fisher and Paykel wake up ...
