Slow and stopped working properly 1 month after warranty expired!

published

The Good:
Dryer is nice looking and matches the washing machine perfectly. Water is collected in a holding tank meaning the laundry stays nice and dry. Auto Sensor works well

The BAD:
This is a slow dryer. Takes twice as long as a regular dryer. Clothes never come out hot - warm at best. Apparently the newer model is much better. Also, it is impossible to dry sheets properly as they get tangled in a ball and you have to stop and start to untangle.

AND the dryer stopped heating up 1 MONTH after the warranty expires. For a 2 year old expensive machine - this is ridiculous.

Purchased in March 2018 at Appliances Online for $1,557.

Service during warranty period

published

Have required service twice in warranty period- first time they replaced unit.
This second time it will take 37 days for service call- I find that unacceptable and would not have purchased this brand had I known they could not provide service in a timely manner.

Purchased in September 2022 at Harvey Norman Online for $1,500.

I hate it

published

We use our dryer 5-6 times a week. The controls are easy enough to use I just hate that as soon as you put towels or sheets in it they come out damp. I have to put it on the timed mode for anything remotely bulky or it just won’t dry them regardless of the settings. It also ties knots in sheets like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Last week I spent 15 minutes untying a knot in 2 sheets. I wish we didn’t spend the money on this. No heat put out is the only positive. The bottom filter is a pain to clean out too.

Great for clothes but not for sheets

published

A dryer has one job to do....dry things, unfortunately this machine can't perform the simple task of drying sheets. It winds them into a ball so tight that after the cycle if finished the sheets are still wet (in the middle of said ball)! I'm quite surprised no one else has commented on this problem. Contacted F&P who weren't too interested and confirmed that their dryers mostly spin in only one direction, resulting in balls of sheets. It does dry clothes exceptionally well though.

Features:

  • The Fisher & Paykel DH8060 Heat Pump Condensing Dryers have 13 different drying programs, including Delicate, Easy Iron, and Rack Dry, so you can take care of your garments while still getting optimal results.
  • They have a 7-star energy rating, making them an energy-efficient option that will help you save money in running costs.
  • Without the need for external venting, these dryers can be placed anywhere in your home, making them a convenient pick.
  • A drum light lets you easily see what’s in your machine when you open the dryer door.
  • These dryers have auto-sensing technology that detects moisture levels in the drum and shuts off automatically, helping prevent over-drying and reduce energy consumption.

Points of praise:

  • Most reviewers found that the heat pump dryer was energy efficient, and helped them save on their power bills.
  • They also found that the dryer’s lint filter was effective at its job and was easy to clean.
  • Reviewers also appreciated how their laundry room (or wherever they placed their machine) didn’t feel humid or hot, as even when the door was closed there was minimal build up of moisture.

A point of pain:

  • Some reviewers found that the drying times of this machine were slow, particularly when drying sheets and linen. A few reviewers said that this was because these larger items were prone to tangling inside the dryer.
