ICEMAKER PROBLEM
Ice maker did not work, apparently the mechanism had dropped preventing the two freezer drawers to lock in place. Complained to Fisher & Paykel customer support - "sorry can't get anyone there for approx 10 days!" F & P Service not good enough. Complained to Harvey Norman who agreed to replace the Fridge. ASAP.

How did I manage without it.....
Brilliant functional design. Runs quietly & doors close softly. Very easy to clean & organise. Maintains temperature effortlessly. Freezer compartment comprised of 2 easy glide drawers which works so well when rationalising freezer foods. Such a luxury having iced water on tap. A very smart addition to my kitchen with easy to clean stainless steel finish.

Great Fridge and Freezer
I bought this Fridge back in January and got it delivered on 1st April 2016. it's been 3 months I've been using this fridge.
This is our first french door fridge with drawer freezer.
Pro:
- Automatic ice machine separate from fridge water dispenser which saves a lot of room in the fridge door.
- Perfect size for a couple or family of 4. I didn't leave enough room for the next model 610L french door RF622ADUSX5 since I only left 900mm for the fridge cavity when I renovated the kitchen. This fridge is quite short and would like the bigger 6...Read more

Great fridge and freezer
Pros:
After 20years our old french door fridge and freezer finally died. New one had to fit in same fridge space so ended up with the F&P. Good so far. We like the wide open shallow shelves so can easily access things. Relatively quiet compared to old fridge. Hold less but more efficient to run. Nice led lighting. Alarm when door left open which you can switch off. Retails $2799
Cons:
Have to use plumber to fit filter on to ensure still under warranty. We already had water point which you need to consider say $150-$200. Store only de...Read more

Good Fridge, but..
One of the reasons for choosing this fridge was because it opens from the middle so you can have big trays for entertaining, but also having the fridge at eye height, rather than the freezer, which you don't use as often, made so much more sense.
The real reason for choosing this particular fridge was mostly for logistic reasons. When I moved into my new apartment there was a tap for the ice and filtered water so we chose a fridge with these options. We measured the space and bought a fridge to fit. Somehow the measurements didn't add up t...Read more
hough because cabinet handles, light switches, microwave door handles, etc. made the alleyway between the island bench and the other benches smaller than we had measured. The manufacturers will never offer it, and it can void warranties, but for a little extra Harvey Norman advised us of a service which can take the door handles, or the complete doors, off the fridge to get it into the space. (All of the storage cages in the building had French-door style fridges inside them - these were because the owners couldn't even get them through the front door! Measure twice and measure again). Some of the reviews of this fridge said it was loud and yes, it is louder than any fridge I've owned before. Not enough to have to turn the TV up or anything but it has many motorised parts, with the ice maker and other "smart" things. I don't like having to open both of the French doors to get to the fruit and veg drawers. They have separate baskets so I thought they could be accessed by just opening one fridge door, but both baskets sit on a drawer so both doors must be opened fully - what is that?Similar opinion? Better than we thought it will be
We bought this model RF522ADUSX5 to replace our old 25 years noisy fridge that was still going. The style of this 3 door fridge compliments our modern kitchen. We looked around for a quiet fridge - this was the essential criteria as our bedroom is quite close to the open planned kitchen. We have had this fridge now for a week and we really love it. It looks good, quiet, the water and ice making is great and the temperature is also good.
The surface does leave some marks which is easily cleaned.
Wish there is a basket insert in the freezer drawer - will make storage easier.
It claims to use 417 Kwh per year which is about a third of our old fridge - only time will tell.

Fridge professionally installed. Ice being made, but zero out of the water dispenser. Have depressed dispenser for 2 mins+ to remove air, and checked hose is not kinked, and the tap turned on (note, ice being made so no problem there). Why is the water not working at all?

How old ur fridge? I have called technician to have look. It’s annoying, I thought it is good brand but I was wrong.
Craigasked
For my newly purchased (second hand) slightly older model RF522ADUX1, is this the correct water and ice kit #836854 (see link below)? Do I need a 350kPa PRV (it also mentions a 600kPa valve)?
What is strange is the genuine article (see link) is $190 while all the online companies and trade site(s) are asking $219 - $223 (with 'RRP $395') for the exact same kit!!

Can I connect my fridge directly through a PRV and into the unit without a filter? Melbourne water is perfectly fine, I don't see why I need to filter it and get into the replacement filter buying cycle. Thanks in advance for help.

If you are happy drinking Melbourne tap water.
Defiitely fit PRV - guarantees constant volume and reduces risk of ruptured water hose.
Most times F&P parts are cheaper than 3rd party.
