We have been with Frank health insurance on the top hospital for over five years. We have never made a claim to date. I find health insurance to be extremely expensive and there is a total lack of loyality acknowledgement through premium discounts.
It seems to me that the members that make no claims are supporting thise that make many. There should be a system that premiums are adjusted depending on claim history just like motor vehicle cover.

Changes to cover that you don't know about until you go to claim

I joined Frank about 5 - 7 years ago. Didn't have an issue until November when I went to claim for an item and couldn't got told I was notified years before of the change. Not happy with service anymore. Won't recommend to anyone.

Amazed by refund

After numerous dismal refunds from a major fund I wasn’t expecting much of a refund for my daughters dental, I submitted the claim & was pleasantly surprised at the refund which was almost the entire amount......yep routine checkup & clean but 6 times the refund of a major fund, couldn’t be happier.

All costs money and questionable if the limited used extras rebates covers the extra cost of insurance!?
However Frank phone service helpful, understandable and good. Easy to negotiate and understand online.
Been covered by health insurance all my life and been with Frank one year. Happy to stay with them thus far.
Do wish I could make direct periodic payments rather than only direct debit.

Have used Frank for over 2 years now, they are reasonably priced for the inclusions and cover and it’s very easy to make claims and see what your coverage includes. I regularly check my coverage and haven’t been able to find better value for money.

We have been with Frank for 3 years and they have been very professional when ever I need to find out anything to do with our policy and claims would recommend them to anyone. The only thing I don't know is if our policy is from January to December or does it restart from financial year.

Hi Lisa,

I can't speak for all health insurers, but as I understand it a large portion of providers are electing to increase the excess level on certain policies. The reason that Frank has chosen to increase the excess level, is that we are committed to keeping premiums as low as possible. Generally speaking, a higher excess means a lower premium!

Ask Frank, they may have a no wait clause or the like which may be beneficial.

Thanks for your question.
When you transfer to Frank, we will honour any waiting periods you have already served with your current fund for a similar level of cover as long as you have not had a gap longer than 30 days in between health funds.
Regardless of the level of extras cover you have with them, we will give you continuity of cover, it will only depend on how long you have held your cover with them that may have an impact. The hospital cover is different, however, if you transfer to Frank on a higher level of cover than what you held previously, you will have waiting periods for the procedures that you were not previously covered for.
