Stay away from hinterland
Was suppose to be a new van, it was a demo they tow around the country. When problems happened didnt want anything to do with it. Had to go to another company to fix. Should of read the reviews before buying a new van off hinterland. I payed $60000, lucky to get $40000 less then 2 yrs old. Last time i heard from them was the day i handed the money over.

Hinterland Caravans are not to be trusted, they will rip you off, shonky dangerous workmanship
I had bought a caravan in Qld and needed to change it over to NSW rego. I went to Hinterland Caravans at Morriset near Newcastle, without going into all the details they ripped me off, said it needed new tyres, they looked fine to me they also said I needed a new battery, did I ? They also charged me $300 for cleaning the van which wasn't dirty. I have since had someone look at the tyres and they are fine but they are not new, they did not replace any tyres and the battery is most likely the one it had when I bought it. I found them to have ...Read more
a standover attitude when I queried the bill, I felt intimidated and they knew how to take advantage of an woman on her own. I also asked them to replace the trailer plug which was the wrong type and I needed a 7 pin, and they did replace it. Fast forward a few months down on the south coast, I checked to make sure my lights were working on the van and found that one of the blinkers on the van wasn't working, a friend of a friend who had worked for a caravan dealership for 15 years offered to check out the van for me. Upon taking the casing off the plug we could see all of the wires were hardly touching, so dangerous the whole thing had to be redone, they didn't even bother taping up the cable so all the wires are exposed. Any of these connections could have failed, the brakes on the van, my electric tow brakes ! this could have caused an accident a bad one, I cant believe that they were so slack. Also the fuses in the van were the wrong size too, and I've had problems with the electrics in the van there are 10 amp fuses where there should be 3 amp which has burnt out some of the wiring. I asked them to check everything! their workmanship is so shonky, the Manager John is a liar, don't get any repairs done by them and I certainly wouldn't buy anything from them. Absolutely no integrity I don't understand how they are still in business.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

nightmare!!!
This was our dream caravan!! They never kept us informed about our van. we had to keep ringing them. We picked the kitchen that i wanted & i also sent them pictures of the kitchen. Picked caravan up & wrong kitchen in van, cupboards out of alignment, silastic on walls through out van, shower not sealed probably, gaps in corner of kitchen bench, fridge activation wire on 12 volt incorrect, break safe wired incorrectly, cut & small hole in lino, dent in cupboard door, spray glue on wheels, 12 volt to 240 volt inverter placed in cupboard & not o...Read more
n side of bed (as marked on plan), toilet lid had scratches on it, 2 dents on the outside of van & van wasn't clean inside. We have never received an apology from them. We took it back to Morisset which is a 2 hr drive for us. They had the van for 4 weeks to Rectify all the issues. We rang the manager asking how the van was going & he told us that he had someone cleaning the van all day. We drove the 2hrs back to Morisset to pick van back up. We had a look inside van & most of the silastic was cleaned off, but the shower wasn't cleaned, it still had silastic all over it & there was a burn mark on the lino near the toilet. When i informed the manager his reply to me was" i can't be F@$%$# ever where". They don't care because they have your money!!! We got excuse after excuse. We did get compensated for the wrong kitchen, after many phone calls to them. What really ticks me off is that they have never apologised or said sorry for their stuff ups. I would never recommend Hinterland to anyone. My rating for them would be -10

Words fail me!
We bought our motorhome from Hinterland, the deal was that we were to have new tires fitted before pickup, they fitted under rated illegal tires that almost got us killed. We have put the matter before QCAT and their insurance assessor has now threatened us and they have also set their lawyers onto us. We also had to do multiple repairs and replace the batteries and charging system after we picked it up.
Don't go anywhere near Hinterland!

DO NOT TRUST A REPAIR QUOTE - ITS MEANINGLESS SUCK YOU IN.
Rang the Gold Coast repair shop for a quote to change the caravan 7pin round plug to a 7 pin flat and also install an Anderson plug. I was told over the phone a couple of plugs about $20 and maybe half an hours work about $60 you should get out of it under $100, Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up the van and found the account to be $236.60. When I spoke to the Manager the day following he said that the mechanic had billed out 3.05hrs for the job, which he reduced to 2hrs as a more reasonable cost. He could not accept that a quoted job, ...Read more
about 30 mins, could somehow escalate to over 3hrs, (6 TIMES THE ANTICIPATED QUOTE TIME) which he would then have to intervene to re-cost to a more reasonable level. Make sure you get a firm quote and make a note of who you speak to - it might make a difference, and then again it probably will not. Better you go to someone with a little more customer relations experience who will stick by their word. Sounds like I am another victim of their widespread "fob off" policy.Similar opinion? How they sell anything I wil never know
Trip to Hinterland caravans Morisset was a total waste of time, we were after a van had $90,000.00 to spend I had travelled 5 hours to them and they knew I was coming to look at a van they had. I was told it sold and there was nothing for sale till after some show months away. They both walked away to there air conditioned office not interested in selling me anything, or even ordering one, on leaving I went to the office and politely told them I won’t be back and was going else where to buy a van, and yes went and bought from Allan Grahams at Wyoming.
I give Hinterland 0 score and Graham’s 10 absolutely wonderful to deal with Mark at Allan Graham’s caravans.

5 star service
This company was top notch in every way. When seeking our new van, the deal we were offered was great, including the trade in figure on our old van. The company assisted by storing the new van while we found a new towing vehicle and even offered good recommendations in that area. The handover was very thorough and the van was detailed beautifully. All staff were pleasant and professional to deal with. Could not fault them in any way.

No response from Hinterland
We bought our Atlantic Pearl in August 2014. After a trip around Australia we discovered that the inside of all 4 tyres were worn to the canvas. We had 4 new tyres fitted and emailed photos of them to Hinterland asking their advice. We got no response from them, they ignored us, must be their way of fobbing us off. Needless to say we will not be updating the caravan through Hinterland.

The batteries and charging system are in the side bin which is under the bed. We sleep with the windows open so weren’t sure about the weird smell. We got home and plugged it into the power for a day ... Read more
because of the fridge. I went in to unpack more stuff and was almost sick with all the fumes from the batteries. The charging system was faulty and the batteries were so hot that they were melting with one battery ready to blow up. We were in a ticking time bomb. They sent us on our way with illegal under rated tires with one just exploding while we were doing 102 kmh, (taking out the side panel) and the second one blowing the next day and a charging system that almost caused a devastating fire. They knew about the charging system because they told us the batteries were dead and replaced them before we picked up the motorhome. These people just don’t care! and certainly don’t care about your safety!!!
