Hi i have a 2002 VX SS 5.8l.
Sometimes when i go to start it nothing happens all accessories work. I don't even get a tick sound. I give it a go 2 or 3 times then it kicks over and starts.
I have replaced the battery any other ideas?

I think If you change the ECU without changing body control module and key head the BCM thinks the car is being stolen and won't let the engine start.

Cant see why not. Both cars are the same at the front. Maybe call a wrecker? Ask them if they have one, then ask if maybe a VX Sedan will fit?

Wish I knew. I have a VX - rare model, so I hope so...
It depneds on what you've got. Bog standard XA Falcons aren't worth much (yes, I know "My uncle's mother's car had 100 miles on it and 100% unrestored original.I saw a bloke advertise one the same on ebay for a million dollars"), but in the condition one would expect for a 20+ year old car, probably not much. And XA GT? well...
So if your's is worth keeping - to you, then maybe wait? 5 litre V8 manuals are worth keeping. Any V8 I would keep. Special models? Yep. Beauty of them is even at 20+ years old, they still go great and are very reliable. That might go against them as there will still be plenty around.

I have a VF Series 2 SV6 Wagon. The tailgate closes and pulls in tight as it should but it wont lock. the doors can be either open or locked, and the tailgate will still open when the button on the tailgate is pressed.

To help, I would need to know what model .
How bad was it hit?
It the boot still opens and shut but just wont lock, maybe an occy strap (and elastic strap with hooks on each end) would temporarily hold it shut? Most hardware stores, or car part stores have these. If you are lucky Super Cheap can "fit" some parts while you wait so maybe one of the staff can help?
